in Latest Book Releases

Happy first day of Spring my friends!!!! Does it look like spring where you are right now? It was DARN cold this morning where I am (and I’m in Florida, so it mostly always looks like spring here). So I can imagine…

The big news is it’s “earlybird” day and a bunch of our favorite authors just had their books go LIVE today!!! YAY US! Karina Halle, S.L. Scott, Kate Stewart, Jennifer L. Armentrout just to name a few. Plus some that are new-to-me but sound really good.

So I’ll start us off with that, and then compile all of the latest awesome book-world news, too.

Amber: Black Hearts was HOT! I loved it!

  • Kate Stewart’s latest release, The Brave Line is LIVE (and I’ve loved a past one by this author!!) YES PLEASE on this blurb!!! SHE’S A DISPATCHER & HE’S A COP... “Fueled by a new career as a dispatcher, she’s determined not to let her scars weigh her down. She apologizes for nothing, especially her insatiable need for a certain police officer… …Three months of summer was all it took to shake their foundations, rattle their walls, and bring them crashing down. It was lust. It was love. It was real. And it would have been perfect . . . if it wasn’t already over.” And Heather read it and says:

Heather: A MUST read!

  • S.L. Scott’s latest, (Missing Grace) <— JUST WENT LIVE!!! HE’S TRYING TO MOVE ON… “When Grace Stevens disappeared—without a word, without a trace—she took half his soul with her… …He had success and wealth. He had everything, except her.  Then fate stepped in one serendipitous night. The hope he’d held on to for three long, agonizing years appeared before him in the form of a picturesque beauty...”
  • Jennifer L Armentrout’s latest (The Struggle (A Titan Novel Book 3) just went LIVE!! This series must be read in order, but Tessa LOVES it like crazy!

Tessa: I’m loving the Titan series.  :D …you must read the Titan series. It’s all sorts of yummy Seth goodness.

  • Delayed Call (Assassins Book 11) by Toni Aleo just went LIVE!!! HOCKEY STAR ALERT! She’s the staff reporter for this hockey team and has to travel with them… “Brie has been the match to Vaughn’s gasoline since the day she first held out her microphone to him. They strike sparks off each other, keeping their friends, the team, and the Assassins fans in stitches. Brie’s refusal to fawn over Vaughn sets his teeth on edge and his blood boiling…”
  • An Act of Courage (Acts of Honor Series Book 4) by K.C. Lynn <— K.C. LYNN’S LATEST IS LIVE!! “One fateful moment destroyed his very existence, and only one person will be able to make him realize that what he considers an act of dishonor was truly an act of courage.” The author says that they can be read as standalones but she HIGHLY encourages us to read at least book #3 (An Act of Obsession (Acts of Honor Book 3)) before this one.
“This is Book Four in the Acts Of Honor series, the spin-off series to Men Of Honor. It is not necessary to read all the other books in the series. However, I do highly recommend that you at least read Resisting Temptation, the third book in the Men of Honor series since this is where these Characters story began.”
  • Cut Wide Open (A Bleeding Scars MC Book 1) by Abby McCarthy <— DARK BIKER BOOK ALERT (with lots of warnings!!) “…Doing what I needed to do to provide for my son, we were finally brought face to face. It should have been the best day of my life, but it was far from it. It was the worst. That day a monster took me...”
  • The Heartbeat Hypothesis by Lindsey Frydman <— HIS SISTER DIED & SHE NOW HAS HER DONOR HEART... “…Thanks to Emily, Audra has a second chance at life. She’s doing all the things that seemed impossible just two years ago: Go to college. Date. Stargaze in the Rocky Mountains. Maybe get a tattoo. You know, live.” And then she meets her donor’s brother, a brooding photographer that wants to document her new life.
  • A Moment of Madness (Boston Alibi) by Brooklyn Skye<— LIVE!!! BARTENDER ALERT! HE NOW OWNS HER DADS BAR… “Ryan Edwards has been running the Alibi for seven years. Being in a bar night after night means he’s no stranger to one-night stands. But when the quirky, beautiful blonde he spent a hot night with shows up at his bar claiming it used to belong to her father, his guard goes right up. Ryan’s desperate for a waitress, and Sailor wants a chance to work in the place that meant so much to her dad…”
  • Make Me Beg (Men of Gold Mountain) by Rebecca Brooks <— LIVE!! BARTENDER ALERT!…when she has a chance to open her own bar and restaurant, she’s got a plan for how it should go. Not in that plan: a ripped and rugged playboy stepping in to take over. Mack doesn’t do players…
  • A Star to Steer Her By by <— LIVE!!! SCUBA DIVER IS EMOTIONALLY SCARRED FROM A PAST ACCIDENT... “Tristan helps me find the courage I thought I had lost and heals me with every stolen moment we share. But the rules of the ship mean we can’t be together. When a dive excursion goes terribly wrong, our only hope for survival is each other...”
  • Fighting Pride by Jennifer Miller <— LIVE!!! SECOND CHANCE ROMANCE ALERT!! He broke her heart to save her… “…The years have been long, the sacrifice and loneliness have been crippling…and now, she’s back. I’m not supposed to see her, talk to her – I’m not supposed to want her. It will only break open wounds I’ve fought to keep closed, but I can’t stay away…”

And now for the AUTHOR NEWS!!!

Kristen Ashley has announced an exciting new project (<— all the details here) happening right now, and it’s all in support of the wonderful women in our lives!!! Here’s just a tidbit from her post, to give you an idea:

“What it is is a Rock Chick’s chance to nominate someone she loves to have a night where she’s spoiled rotten. These nominations can be for any reason. Her sister/friend/mom/daughter/co-worker/whatever is having a tough time and needs a special night. Her sister/friend/mom/daughter/co-worker/whatever gives so much love, she needs someone to show her some love in return. Her sister/friend/mom/daughter/co-worker/whatever has done something amazing that needs to be recognized…

…The winners will be notified and then they will be invited to attend a fancy-ass dinner at a fancy-ass place where they will be wined and dined with MOI in attendance as well as get a special, slam-bam-hot-diggity-dog swag bag that won’t only have KA goodness in it but also some other awesome stuff that will pamper the hell out of them…”

Renee Carlino just revealed the cover of her upcoming release, Wish You Were Here: A Novel on USA Today’s “HEA” blog!! Not only that, but an excerpt to tease us with, too!

“…a brand-new novel about a restless young waitress whose one-night stand with an enigmatic artist takes her on an unexpected, life-changing journey toward an impossible decision.”

A. Meredith Walters just posted the cover reveal of her upcoming novel, “The Beautiful Game” (a sports romance!). And she also posted this teaser for us. ;)

“Love was a ticking time bomb, ready to detonate at any moment and blow your whole world apart.

I could barely breathe as I waited for it to annihilate me.

God how I wanted the destruction…”

R.L. Mathewson has TWO new releases coming out in our beloved hilarious “Neighbor from Hell” series. One is called Irresistible (and it’s Aidan’s story). No exact date or preorder as of yet, but she posted the cover AND an excerpt here and the other is called “Delectable” (Reese’s story) with a cover reveal and an excerpt for that one too. BUT!!! She’s not sure which one she will release first. ;) TEASE!!!! :P

E.L. James is writing again!! Eeeeeeep!!! She just teased us with this status:

“2775 words. #Backonthehorse

Lisa Renee Jones announced her latest “duet” (entitled “White Lies” – Provocative is book #1 and Shameless, book #2). She revealed the covers, what it’s about AND you can read the first chapter here.

Stephen King just revealed who will be narrating the audiobook version of “The Dead Zone” (you can read the article on Entertainment Weekly) saying:

“Academy Award nominee James Franco and Stephen King are together again! Franco will read the audiobook edition of THE DEAD ZONE, available on April 25 on CD and for download for the first time ever. Read more via Entertainment Weekly.”

Jennifer Probst just announced a new deal with Montlake Publishing for an upcoming series releasing in 2018.

“NYT bestselling author Jennifer Probst’s THE START OF SOMETHING GOOD, in which a Special Forces rescue paratrooper returns to his family’s B&B and horse rescue farm to heal after his world is ripped apart, and while there unexpectedly meets a headstrong and beautiful businesswoman who helps him to confront his past and embrace a brand new future, to Maria Gomez at Montlake Romance, in a two-book deal, by Kevan Lyon at Marsal Lyon Literary Agency (world).”

Caroline Kepnes (author of my much-loved creepy stalker series “You: A Novel” that is now being turned into  TV series) posted in January about her current work-in-progress. She doesn’t say much (yet – I searched for more new since), but it sounds like it will be quite the journey, too. ;) She says:

“…this morning, I finished my draft of my new book and hit SEND. A new story, new characters, but same deal, I’m bringing you inside some offbeat minds, people grappling with love and life and heartbreak in the modern world. I’ll have more details for you soon…”

Kitty Thomas (queen of super-dark and twisted love stories) announced a new release coming out in just a few days (March 27th)!! Eeeeep! Check out this blurb:

Julie wants Gabe Griffin like fish want water, but what she wants is sweet domestic bliss and a white picket fence. What Gabe wants is to put a collar around Julie’s throat and train her in the finer points of being his slave…

Your bunny sure has a spring in his bounce! :P

Grey March 20, 2017 at 9:59 AM

Hmph…some of us are working you know. *giggle* so happy first day of spring! And happy birthday to my oldest baby! Sigh…she’s 15 today, I’d just like to point out that I am not old enough to have a 15 year old.

I gotta distracted by a shiny ARC…it’s got a jerk face bully…*Squee*

Ela March 20, 2017 at 10:10 AM

Hey Grey! I’m working too  you’re just slower today THAN ME :)

Ela March 20, 2017 at 10:10 AM

Happy Spring!! Several books on the list that caught my attention.

My “baby” will be 16 next month. *sigh* where does the time go?!!

However, I am old enough to have a 16 year old!! :>

Maryse March 20, 2017 at 10:36 AM

Maryse March 20, 2017 at 10:37 AM

I wish it had a longer tongue! Thanks Maryse…

Tessa March 20, 2017 at 10:53 AM

Grey, can you say the book name or not yet? Because you know when you find a gem, you have to tell me, right?

Maryse March 20, 2017 at 10:54 AM

Grey is it the one I’m just about to review that I LOVE SO HARD!!!!!!????

Maryse March 20, 2017 at 10:55 AM

Me too. This smiley just looks like he’s smiling so hard you see the inside of his mouth. *snort*

I def. prefer the extra obnoxious tongue smiley.

Lisa Aiello March 20, 2017 at 10:55 AM

Guys – I just have to take a minute to talk to those of you who have loved the Infidelity Series by Aleatha Romig. She opened up her world in Kindle Worlds, where other authors have the opportunity to write her characters, storyline, etc. These books go live this Thursday, March 23. My friend wrote Sacrifice, and I got see it grow from its infant stages into her first published book. It’s Chelsea Moore’s story, and pretty darn good if I do say so myself.

“I wish it had a longer tongue!” <——- Of course you do. *snort*

Cut Wide Open looks SO tempting (and it's been a while since I've wanted to read an MC book) but ENOUGH ALREADY with the trendy bearded look on the covers!! I really can't wait until that fad is over. Okay, I'm done b!tching. ;)

Amy March 20, 2017 at 11:02 AM

And holy moly, I can’t WAIT for Renee Carlino’s new one up there!

Theresa Parsons March 20, 2017 at 11:03 AM

Thank you so much for the author roundups that you do…I love learning of new releases that are happening and all the good tidbits about our beloved authors….you are awesome

Maryse March 20, 2017 at 11:14 AM

You guys I’m totally not a beard person… noooooo.

And I know the main character in The Opposite of You has that “trendy tattooed, beard guy” look, but trust me…

This book is SO awesome, so well written, and he is SO amazing (the ONE character I’ve fallen SO hard for in years… I mean almost Travis-hard), that I don’t even care about his beard.

In fact, I suddenly find myself attracted to that cover, because of how I grew to “know” his sweet, moodiness. :P

So choose yourself a sexy favorite (in beard-mode) and just picture him… as you read this. It is AMAZING.

Maryse March 20, 2017 at 11:15 AM

YAY Theresa!!!

I’m so glad you enjoy it. I know with Facebook and Twitter, we end up missing a LOT of very important informational posts, so when I see one, I copy that link so fast into my list of “news-to-be-announced” before it gets lost forever in the sea of social media posts.

Ela March 20, 2017 at 11:49 AM

OH Lisa! I haven’t read that series YET!

Grey March 20, 2017 at 12:34 PM

No Maryse, it isn’t the one you’re reviewing … But I want that one BAD!!!

Lisa, yes! Omg, I’ve heard Pam Godwin’s is AMAZEBALLS too! I want them ALL!!

Ela, how have you not read these yet?

Tessa, I’m reading Dirty Filthy Rich Men by Laurelin Paige.

Ela March 20, 2017 at 12:43 PM

I’ll try to hit those up this month, I think I was waiting for the series to be complete before I read them….and then other books happened.

Amy March 20, 2017 at 12:45 PM

Ya know, I don’t have a problem with a bearded guy IN a book (*ahem* Serengeti), I just don’t want the bearded guy ON my book.

Especially the same one over and over and over…

R. Renee March 20, 2017 at 12:48 PM

I’m with Amy. I can make any H look like Josh Duhamel in my head but put his bearded mug on the cover and I struggle. Murmuration was hard to envision because of that. I really had to focus!

Ela March 20, 2017 at 1:00 PM

What about those damn man buns???

R. Renee March 20, 2017 at 1:02 PM

Nope…those I’m totally cool with!

R. Renee March 20, 2017 at 1:03 PM

But, I don’t care how hot the guy is, I’d prefer the cover be ambiguous. Sometimes the guy or girl is smoking hot but doesn’t fit the character in my mind and it throws me off.

Ela March 20, 2017 at 1:08 PM
Fabi March 20, 2017 at 1:20 PM

I’m with Maryse. No to facial hair. An occasional scruff is ok but otherwise, just no. My philosophy is ‘you don’t shave, I don’t shave’. Ick right?

Ok so, for those of you who still occasionally read books with characters too young to have those godawful beards…

I just finished a 5 star YA Dystopian, The Testing. This one is for fans of The Hunger Games, Divergent, and The Maze Runner. It’s been years since I got these feels from a story. Easily as good as all those I just mentioned.

Fabi March 20, 2017 at 1:37 PM

I KNOW it’s not Thursday. But I HAVE TO share this first paragraph with y’all.

“Most people can’t tell you the moment their life changed. One day they’re twenty years old with the world at their feet, then the next they’re closer to forty and wondering where the hell their life went. There’s no Logan’s Run age qualifier that deems you’re past your use-by date. There’s no ceremony with gowns and funny hats to say you’ve graduated from ticking one age-group box on a survey to ticking the next age-group box. You just turn around, and wham-bam-thank-you-very-fucking-much, you’re old.”

The Weight of it All by N.R. Walker

Amy March 20, 2017 at 2:20 PM

OMG ELA!! *wretches*

Amy March 20, 2017 at 2:22 PM

Fabi! That is EXACTLY what I tell hubby!! Fortunately he can’t have a beard with his work, but when he talks about growing it out on leave or after he retires, I tell him I won’t kiss him and I won’t get waxed.

Although, not waxing would be a punishment for me as well so…I might just have to stick with the no kissing thing. Especially after Ela’s link. *gags*

bev March 20, 2017 at 2:37 PM

I’m not clicking on Ela ‘ s link.

I don’t mind the beards. Even the buns mostly, long hair is not usually my favorite. But I grew up when a guy grew a beard cause he liked it not a hipster thing.
Plus, a hot guy is a hot guy. Saw one with the beard and pulled back longish hair, not a full bun. The work clothes an truck. But you know looked like he’d been working, not a “look”. Over 6′ and lean. He was hot beard & hair or no, lol.

bev March 20, 2017 at 2:38 PM

Though, yes I usually prefer clean cut look. *shrug*

Amy when your husband is gone next time you must TEXT!

Ela March 20, 2017 at 2:50 PM

Sorry BUT I had to inform y’all of the dangers that lurk among the hairs! bahahahahahah

Leslie M March 20, 2017 at 2:51 PM

Facial hair a la Joe Manganiello…YES PLEASE!!!

Trendy hipster beards with fecal bacteria…YUCK!! (and I don’t want them on my book covers either)

Leslie M March 20, 2017 at 2:52 PM

Ela, you crack me up!!

Leslie M March 20, 2017 at 2:53 PM

Fabi, I love your book quote. That sounds interesting.

R. Renee March 20, 2017 at 2:56 PM

And not to mention many of us lick our book covers and now I’m just grossed out so there. Or is that just me?

Fabi March 20, 2017 at 2:58 PM

Leslie, the MC has no filter! I can’t can’t stop laughing (or, rather, snorting since I’m trying not to laugh out loud).

Amy March 20, 2017 at 2:58 PM

Ela, just FYI…it gets easier each time. ;) Besides, almost performing female circumcision on myself with a razor is far worse… :?

bev…do you mean text him a la MichelleS? LOL!!

Leslie M March 20, 2017 at 3:00 PM

Lisa, I haven’t gotten around to reading Infidelity Series yet (possible BR anyone??) but I’m not getting what all these other books are. I dont want to read up on them & get accidental spoilers. Are they expanding on series with their stories of side characters, re-writing story (kind of like fanfic) or what? I’m intriqued.

Leslie M March 20, 2017 at 3:03 PM

Yeah Robin, no more book cover licking I’m afraid. (Unless of course man is extea hot & clean shaven)

Leslie M March 20, 2017 at 3:05 PM

Speaking of unpleasant female things…I have been blowing off mammogram appt and I got tongue lashing from doc.

All this waxing, shaving and boob squishing is no fun!!

Ela March 20, 2017 at 3:19 PM

Ela March 20, 2017 at 3:20 PM

I’m down Leslie….BR

Maryse March 20, 2017 at 3:23 PM

*pulls out Lysol for the beards*

R. Renee March 20, 2017 at 3:24 PM

We use wayyyyy too much Lysol round here…

Lisa Aiello March 20, 2017 at 3:33 PM

Leslie – basically Kindle Worlds is organized fan fiction…but better. So once a series is done, an author can choose to open up the series for others to write with their characters. There are rules the new author has to follow. I probably wouldn’t read any of these Kindle World books until you read the Infidelity Series. I don’t think you’ll get spoilers, but I think you’ll get so much more out of them once you understand the characters and the storyline.

Maryse March 20, 2017 at 3:40 PM

There is never too much Lysol.

Tessa March 20, 2017 at 3:55 PM

Amy’s just a sloppy shaver. :D She needs the wax. *hugs*

Okay, Seth is slowly edging out Mason. *sighs* At least he’s always been an adult, right? And yep, already finished that one. The first time I put, reading on goodreads from my tablet, I went to goodreads just to look at updates, and it said I was reading some brat erotica. 0.0 It made me really look at my book in a different light for a second.

Tessa March 20, 2017 at 4:08 PM

The Pawn by Skye Warren is free
Gabriel (Elven Chronicles series Book 1)by M.A. Abraham is free
The Prince & The Player (Dirty Players Book 1) by Tia Louise is free
Blood Destiny (Blood Curse Series Book 1)by Tessa Dawn is free

MichelleS March 20, 2017 at 4:23 PM

Reading an “Amy” book, I think….
From her POV – check
Rockstar & Underground fighter – check
WTF just happened moment – check
Dark – check
No Cliffie, except in the free Novella that leads into this book – check

Um. How did I miss this? Torn from You. Torn Asunder series.

MichelleS March 20, 2017 at 4:30 PM

Trimmed, neat beards can be sexy in the right guy. This ZZ Top long scraggly look is just gross.

I’ve nipped myself with scissors before – mini circumcision. Ouch! Why do we do this?

My son is 20 & I am old enough. Sigh.

Leslie M March 20, 2017 at 4:33 PM

Lisa, Thanks for the explanation…sounds super cool!

Ela, I’m available WHENEVER as long as its not ’til next week. I have a BR I have to finish first. I’m in no rush, so if you want to hold off awhile that’s cool too. Man, I wish I had a BR for when I read Consequences. That series gave me ulcers. (in a good way)

Leslie M March 20, 2017 at 4:38 PM

Talking about feeling old…29 years ago today was me & my hubs first date. And my baby is 16. :(

Ashley March 20, 2017 at 4:49 PM

Take Me Back by Meghan March went live today too (I have already one-clicked it)! I also got The Heartbeat Hypothesis and am excited to read that one. The Neighbors from Hell series by R.L. Mathewson is one of my favorites so I can’t wait for those books either. So many books….

Ela March 20, 2017 at 5:03 PM

That’s funny Leslie cause I was going to say I’m ready NOW….LET’S DO IT…

Leslie M March 20, 2017 at 5:09 PM

Ela, do u mind waiting til next week?

D.G. March 20, 2017 at 5:30 PM

Catching up…my oldest turned 13 last month!!!! I am still in denial that I have a teenager…I am definitely old enough even though in my mind I can’t understand where all those years went….I feel like I should be in my late twenties or early thirties….

BEARDs…nice neat trimmed beards…yes please. Scruff…yes please. Stache….ummm, NO. Long back swamp, ZZ Top beards…ummm, heck no. Beards should be washed daily like I hope a guy would wash his hair….if he has any….

Jan March 20, 2017 at 5:38 PM

I’m not clicking on that beard link either. No way, no how. I’ve NEVER seen my husband without his (neat, short) beard. He had it when we met, and he’s still got it. I just can’t imagine him without it. I’ve seen a pre-beard photo of when he was all smooth and bare and skinny and about nineteen. Cute. Hey, he keeps himself clean….. :)

I’m not a man-bun fan. But strangely, I don’t mind a man-pony-tail, or long (clean) loose hair on a guy. Can be kinda hot ;)

Grey March 20, 2017 at 6:46 PM

We use way too much lysol around here. Bwahahaa. *dead*

bev March 20, 2017 at 6:55 PM

Amy, sort of. We’re you an instigator of that? But lines from books. Please. Pretty please.

bev March 20, 2017 at 7:58 PM

Maryse put her book tease up.

Linda March 20, 2017 at 8:51 PM

Definitely one clicked your latest review Maryse!!! And I cannot keep to myself how much I loved Devil You Know and The Copper Smith Farm House!!! 5 stars plus for me!!! And my “baby” is 31, and a power lifting nurse with a beard!! Refers to himself as a “viking.” Yeah I totally claim him. Lol. No idea where time goes!!!

R. Renee March 21, 2017 at 12:05 AM
Cheryl March 21, 2017 at 5:50 AM

Neat, trimmed beard or just scruf. Nothing major, especially knowing the germ factor now. To me the longer looks like pubes on the face. Just NO!!

Ela March 21, 2017 at 6:58 AM

Someone! Quick!!! Resuscitate Robin!!! *slaps Robin* yo! You Herę with UE?

Ela March 21, 2017 at 6:58 AM

You here with us!

Ela March 21, 2017 at 6:59 AM

Sure Leslie! I think I can find myself a book or 2 ;)

Leslie M March 21, 2017 at 7:25 AM

Ela, riiiiiiiiiiiigght…it might be difficult with so few on your TBR. Hee hee

I’m actually wicked excited about diving into Infidelity series. Talking about Jean reading Consequences has me in the Aleatha Romig/mind f@ck mood!!!

bev March 21, 2017 at 7:32 AM

Lol. I didn’t realize they were in it.

C’mon you guys……just read it.

Maryse I’m going to read your new bearded love you could read my Simon love. ;)

Jean you know you want to.
Fabi & Amy I have a bet going with R and only you can break it.

Don’t make me go through everybody before my morning coffee.

Maryse March 21, 2017 at 9:19 AM

LOL Linda!!!!! I love how you describe him. *snort*

And thank you so much for the recommendations. I’m looking up The Copper Smith Farm House now. :D

R. Renee March 21, 2017 at 9:33 AM

I just don’t understand. I follow him everywhere. I consider myself a class A stalker. I have a google alert on him and may or may not get notified where he eats. How the heck did I not know about this? Man, I need to step up my game!

Fabi March 21, 2017 at 11:14 AM

R. who/what are you referring to? (you’re so dang funny)

R. Renee March 21, 2017 at 11:16 AM

Fabi, Josh Duhamel filming Simon!!

Amy March 21, 2017 at 7:27 PM

Ela…I got impatient waiting to get waxed and used a brand new razor. And it slipped mid swipe. Hence almost circumcising myself. AWFUL.

MichelleS…sounds like an “Amy” book to me. And I have that one sitting in my library!! :D

bev…NOW I remember that whole texting thing. ;) I’ll try it when I won’t get charged international charges though, LOL!

bev March 21, 2017 at 10:22 PM

Amy, is your husband deployed overseas? :/

Amy March 21, 2017 at 11:57 PM

Yep. :(

bev March 22, 2017 at 7:43 AM

Oh, Amy. I’m sorry. That’s got to be tough. Sending good thought your way.

Grey March 22, 2017 at 10:14 AM
