“If anyone is looking for a new series to read thats hilarious and has a bad boy lead character that will make you swoon, check out JD Nixon’s series ‘Heller’”.

And Kate & Tiffany adamantly agree!!

Kate: Thank you Shayna Thompson for sharing about that Heller book. I read it all in one sitting. Could NOT put it down for anything (my poor kids) and after I finished I got straight onto to amazon and bought up the next three books in the series. Can’t wait to start the rest of them! Yay!

Tiffany: Almost done with Heller by JD Nixon…Shayna recommended this book to Maryse and she was soooo RIGHT….This book is AWESOME!! Its a series of 4 so far..I love Heller and Tilly…I love when you happen on a book and its a GOOD ONE!! Maryse its gonna be a great series….Check it out..You won’t be let down..Loving it so far…..Its a story that makes you feel good stuff and bad..lol!!

Okay, and now my friend Christina is absolutely flipping over it, too… I must read this ASAP!

*giggle* I’m on it, Christina. Soon, I promise!

About the series (as per the author):

The Heller series of books features the crazy and sizzling adventures of Tilly Chalmers as a security officer and her very complicated relationship with her beautiful, mysterious (and scary) boss, Heller, owner of Heller’s Security & Surveillance. The Heller books are fairly tongue-in-cheek and not for people who want serious and important themes in their reading. Sorry.

ALSO!! For those who have read the series and want to discuss it in detail, I’ve created a Heller Discussion Thread in the “spoiler forum” (Enter at your own risk if you have not read the series yet…)

If you like JD Nixon’s Heller series, you’ll also love her Little Town series – Blood Ties, and Blood Sport (in that order). The third in the series, Blood Feud is in the works and will be released soon. Blood Ties is free on Smashwords, Barnes & Noble, and Amazon.

I finished “Heller” , is good and funny.. You just can’t stop laughing at Tilly . There’s this part @ the beginning of the book when Heller is interviewing Tilly for the job, I don’t remember laughing so much.

Read this series a while ago and loved it. Can’t wait for the next one.

V. August 26, 2012 at 2:42 AM

Just downloaded Hellier and Blood Ties thanks to your recommendation. Thanks – I’d be lost without your site.

Dena August 26, 2012 at 8:30 AM

Just to inform people as of right now heller is free on kindle… Thanks for the recommendation.

Joy August 27, 2012 at 3:59 PM

Read all four and can’t for the fifth to come out. There were many of times I wanted to strangle Tilly, but that’s a sign of a good book. ;) . Man, Tilly is made of steel….what she doesn’t go thru!

Loved, loved the the Heller series! I think I am totally in love with Heller. I can not wait for the next book.

Jess August 29, 2012 at 4:25 AM

Love this book so I bought the whole series! Then I found out she’s Australian (like me!) and lives in Brisbane (same city as me!). I don’t know why but her being ‘local’ made the books even more appealing for me.

I just did an all-nighter with this book. I actually put the book down (only once i’d finished it, just 32 minutes before Johns morning alarm went off. I got totally absorbed in it. LOVED it

In places it kind of reminds me of Kristen Ashleys Dream Man Series – but in my opinion its better. I loved the humour and the gradual ‘thawing’ of Heller as the book progressed.

Straight on to book 2!

V. August 29, 2012 at 8:27 AM

It has taken me 4 days to read all 4 books (and I work full time). Does anyone know when Hellier’s Decision is due out?

Maryse August 29, 2012 at 8:46 AM

You guys are all killing me with your Heller enthusiasm. I can’t wait to get to these!!!!

Hi Maryse: The Heller series is awesome — what a great find by Shayna!! I can’t wait for you to read and review it! Do you know by any chance if book 5 is the final book in this series or is it ongoing? I’m already on book 4 and I started these on Tuesday!!!! LOL I’m so gonna get fired — maybe I can find a boss of my own like Heller, hmmmm – that would be GREAT :0)

Jen Lewis August 31, 2012 at 9:25 AM

OOoops! Nevermind – I just found JD Nixon’s blog and I am very excited to see that she thinks there will probably end up being about 7-8 books in the Heller series! That’s soo awesome — except that means lots of waiting!!!! Oh well I’m sure it will be worth it in the end… The next series I read has to be complete — I need some closure!! Does anyone else feel like they are in constant waiting for the “next book” in the series to come out?!?!?! LOL
Hope you all have a nice weekend! I know I’ll be reading the whole time! :0)

Maryse August 31, 2012 at 11:20 AM

Maryse September 2, 2012 at 2:20 PM

Awesome!! I can’t wait to start these. I think I shall read them this week.

Mary jo September 4, 2012 at 12:39 AM

I blew threw all 4 books and all I have to say is the back and forth was killing me! I really like the series but, wow. I didnt know if I wanted hug or strangle them both! I think my breathing has finally regulated and I can now function normally. I think I’ll wait for the rest of the books before I continue the series. Waiting for each one may kill me.

Lauren September 13, 2012 at 5:09 PM

Just finished Book 1 in this series and I’m hooked, had to go buy the rest! Reading the synopsis I didn’t think I was going to like it….but damn I was wrong. Was hooked from the get go! They are surprisingly funny too.. The hot tub scene had me giggling to myself :)

Michaela September 13, 2012 at 7:57 PM

Any update or insider info on the release date for Heller’s Decision?! So anxious to read it! This series has completely captivated me! Love Tilly and Heller! I just want them together already! :)

Bianca October 4, 2012 at 8:34 PM

Just finished the first book and I’m begging my husband for the rest, I liked it so much! I need to know what’s happening next. Just got casual vacancy, but I don’t even want to read it until I finish this series!

Sheila December 15, 2012 at 2:25 PM

Hi. I’d like to ask where I can find other Heller books! I just read the first book and I wanted to read mooorrreee!!! But I am having a hard time finding the other books. Can you guys please recommend to me where I can find those? We don’t have a bookstore here in our city, so I’d prefer it if I could find some online. Or if any of you guys would like to sell those books to me, I’d be happy to buy them!. heheh Thanks!

Maryse December 16, 2012 at 1:28 PM

Hi Sheila. The reading order above, links each book to the Amazon version.

I hope that helps! :)

Ali September 5, 2013 at 4:08 PM

These books are great! I had so much fun reading them, thank you!

Anna Collins March 2, 2014 at 7:02 AM

Read Blood Ties first, then the other ones in that series. Am now on Book 4 of the Heller series. I just love these books, great storylines, difficult to put down and the way that both Tilly and Tess are so stubborn and get into scrapes. The guys in the books sound so hot as well. Will have to keep buying when new ones come out.

dot May 13, 2014 at 7:25 PM

Haven’t read the other series yet, but they are on the ‘short’ list to do.

Any info is appreciated.

Pam June 7, 2016 at 1:38 PM

Sadly, it looks as though J. D. has stopped writing. She has deleted her blog and just today made a vague comment on Facebook about finishing the two series in the future (no timetable given).
