From the synopsis of book #1, I was getting a “popular/mean crew that rule the university” vibe. I love that kind of stuff. But then, I heard it had a mafia twist. YES PLEASE!!!
Nicole: I read the first book in the Elite series by Rachel Van Dyke yesterday. It had been sitting on my Kindle FOREVER (gotta start making room for some of your great recommendations)…so I read it yesterday, it started out slow, and a little confusing and then toward the end I was sucked in hook, line, and sinker. It does have a mafia angle which I didn’t see at first, it seemed more like new girl gets picked on by the popular kids, but then the story really unfolds. Very excited to read book 2!
Missy: Been waiting for Elect forever, already preordered!
Evieve: I have a feeling that Rachel Van Dyken’s Elite and Elect would be books you’d really like. Mafia, Young Adult novels that really suck you in. Definitely check them out when you get a chance!
About book #1:
For Tracey Rooks, life with her grandparents on a Wyoming farm has always been simple. But after her grandmother’s death, Tracey is all her grandfather has. So when Eagle Elite University announces its annual scholarship lottery, Tracey jumps at the opportunity to secure their future and enters. She isn’t expecting much-but then she wins. And life as she knows it will never be same . . .
The students at Eagle Elite are unlike any she’s ever met . . . and they refuse to make things easy for her. There’s Nixon, gorgeous, irresistible, and leader of a group that everyone fears: The Elect. Their rules are simple. 1. Do not touch The Elect. 2. Do not look at The Elect. 3. Do not speak to The Elect. No matter how hard she tries to stay away, The Elect are always around her and it isn’t long until she finds out the reason why they keep their friends close and their enemies even closer. She just didn’t realize she was the enemy — until it was too late.
I loved these books. The first maybe more. But definitely give them a go.
I have been reading since I was 12, and this is a tough one for me. I think the first book I remember reading for my own pleasure was Little House in the Big Woods by Laura Ingalls Wilder.
I haven’t read the second one yet, but loved the first one and can’t wait to read the second one! Definite must read!
Loved this series!!! Can’t wait for the next one!!! Both books I couldn’t put down.
I have read the Rune series and I have read the Eagle Elite series through book 5. They were all wonderful. Loved each one. BUT the next book is Elude (Book 6) and I can find no information on it. Please post a release date for the book. I am guessing it is not on the ebook list yet or not published. When reading a series – I want to know when the next one is available.
Hi Joyce! It is not up for pre-order yet and a release date has not been set as the author is still working the book (as per her Facebook post a week or so ago…)
Is Enchant part of the series?
