Reader Question – The book where she left her husband, but now she has amnesia & he helps take care of her…

Chat GPT put me onto in hopes that you can help me find an old romance book.

I either read it in the late 80’s or early 90’s. It was either a mills and boons, silhouette or harlequin book. It was a a large book, not a skinny mills and boons.

It’s about a woman that wakes up in hospital with amnesia. They have a young son that she can’t remember either. It is set in England and the husband is very rich and they live in a large house or estate. She had left him because she was driven out by others influence. The husband has to help shower her as initially she was unable to take care of herself, maybe in a wheelchair.

Her husband is very angry with her but still loves her. She regains her memory. Possibly husband family poisoned her against her husband??

Are you able to please help me find this book?! It’s been a mystery I haven’t been able to let go of. I’m 50 and started reading romance when I 15!

I’m trying to rack my brains out this. The key things I remember was:

• The wife was estranged from husband, don’t know for how long.
• She was in an accident, wakes up in hospital with amnesia and is released into husband care.
• He is very wealthy, has staff.
• She can’t wash her self in the shower, he has to do this for her initially.
• They have a young son, and she’s wondering what must’ve have happened to have left her son.
• There’s definitely influence from a third party, PA, sister-in-law, another female.
• Either special edition Silhouette or Harlequin as the book was thicker.

I’ve checked other amnesia stories and the two biggest takeaways is the son and the shower scene.
