The story behind the story
Chestnut Lane was penned by author Kevin G. McGuire, as a gift to his three parents. He knew where they were born and raised, a bit of their childhoods, and how their respective paths crossed at different junctures in their lives.
He also grasped the happy and sad times they endured. The backgrounds created this beautiful romantic story.
Much of the storyline is fictionalized, but the core is true. Writing Chestnut Lane gave him the opportunity to weave an incredible love novel full of hope, dreams, and obstacles life throws our way.
About the author:
The author bio Kevin G. McGuire grew up in Newburgh, New York. At the age of seven, he was struck by an intoxicated driver while playing baseball, leaving him paralyzed from the waist down and requiring the use of a wheelchair.
His professional career has been dedicated to improving the quality of life for people with disabilities. A graduate of Boston University and the Georgetown University Law Center, he is the founder of McGuire Associates, Inc. (mcguireassociatesinc.com). A true renaissance man, Kevin has not only helped people with disabilities, he is also an accomplished author of books, a screenplay and has appeared both as an actor in major films (Born on the 4th of July), television, as well as guesting on numerous podcasts, radio shows, and being the commencement speaker at his college’s graduation ceremony.
