Just take a look at this and tell me this doesn’t make you all giddy with book-heartache potential! I don’t even know if I could take it, but I will certainly give it a try.

Zarah Lynn: Fractured: The Choices He Made (Book 1 of 3 in the Fractured Series) released 1-25-26. The author makes it clear there’s a cliffhanger ending, but Book 2 is out 2-11-26. The author also provides inserts with warnings for sections (explicit sex scenes) that some readers might want to skip. The book revolves around the fracturing of a couple married for 18 year with two teenage kids. Book 1 is the FMC’s story, which continues in the next book. Well written…totally binge worthy.
The main themes are:
At the beginning, the 18 year marriage appears strong, happy, with robust intimacy. The MMA has a very successful M&A company and works long hours a pattern his family is used to. The FMC, a writer and blogger, works from home.
The OW is a new executive assistant at the MMC’s company…she starts her enticement campaign. He eventually succumbs to the OW in his office on the night he’s supposed to be home early to take photos of his daughter in her prom dress… he misses this important family occasion.
The FMA lies to her daughter and son that their dad texted that he won’t be able to take the photos. He’s had a work emergency…the FMA and son know it’s a lie.
The cheating escalates. The MMC is still having sex with his wife, but there are cracks forming in the family.
BE ADVISED…SPOILERS AHEAD…THE REVENGE IS EPIC
Even though there are more experienced candidates, the OW is now the MMC’s PA when his long time assistant takes a leave of absence.
The daughter comes down with pneumonia and has to go to the hospital. The FMC unsuccessfully tries to contact the MMC…allegedly his phone was off during meetings…he really was having sex with the OW.
The MMC takes the OW to an awards event in Miami…the FMC can’t go because the daughter is still recovering. There’s lots of sex including adult toys. The cheating continues…the fractures with his son and wife widen…there are arguments.
At a client lunch with the MMC, the OW runs into the FMC’s father…he doesn’t recognize the OW…it really unsettles her…what surprises are lurking?
It’s the last week of the kids’ summer vacation. The FMC is intent on a family weekend vacation at the MMC’s parents’ Hamptons cottage. He refuses…too busy (his plans include the OW). The FMC and kids go anyway…the MMC is pissed…she didn’t get his approval.
The FMC meets a handsome man with dog at the beach…the MMC is inordinately jealous.
The FMC thinks she’s detected signs of cheating, but now she finds real evidence…lipstick and perfume on the MMC’s clothes.
The FMC and MMC attend a charity gala where she runs into the man she met in the Hamptons. The MMC is again unreasonably jealous.
The FMC is subdued during the gala…she complains of a bad headache and goes home on her own. The MMC drops in at the OW’s apartment on his way home for unprotected sex. He makes her take a Plan B pill. Did she really take it?
The FMC pays a surprise visit to her husband’s office and meets the OW. The FMC recognizes the OW’s perfume and lipstick, along the ugly possessive looks the OW is giving her.
The OW attends a lunch party at the MMC’s house, and almost has oral sex with him in the kitchen. Did someone see?
The MMC and OW head to San Jose for a work/sex trip. The MMC realizes something is off with his wife and is concerned, but continues cheating.
Mysterious things are happening…phone calls, urgent talks between the FMC and her son.
Cliffhanger ending when the MMC returns from his trip…
