Aleatha Romig just sent over an exclusive outtake from her recent release,Β Revealed: The Missing Years (Consequences Book 4) the unexpected fourth and final book of the Consequences series! REVEALED was released May 20. Here is the blurb…
P.S.Β do not read further if you haven’t yet read this DARK DARK series!!! If you like the bad guy (and all of that confusion that goes with loving/hating one <— and believe me, he made a mess of many of my fellow reader’s minds)… this just might be for you. π
From New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Aleatha Romig comes the thrilling conclusion of a powerful series about secrets and deception, passion and love, and choices and consequences.
Readers saw what happened on that fateful afternoon at the Rawlings Estate and heard about the aftermath. This fourth novel of the series is told through the men in Claire Nicholsβ life and fills in the gap of time that was only previously mentioned. Like dominoes falling in a line, REVEALED allows readers to experience the shocking repercussions one by one, and witness their effect on everyone in the game.
Share the struggle as Anthony Rawlings fights for what is his as the crashing consequences of his past threatens to change his world forever. Join Harrison Baldwin as he discovers the truth that threatens his beliefs, and John Vandersol as he come to terms with his revelations. Witness as Phillip Roach decides with whom his loyalties lie, and Brent Simmons demonstrates the meaning of friendshipβno matter the cost.
Readers of this series survived the Consequences, learned the Truth, and know who was Convicted, but that is not all. Do not assume that Tony and Claireβs story is complete, because beyond the conclusion of Convicted there is more to be REVEALED!
Circumstances do not make the man, they reveal him.βJames Allen

Ready for that outtake?
Unexpectedly, someone turned up the volume. What only seconds earlier had been a dull roar of activity grew to an explosion of voices. The sound of his name came into range. βMr. Rawlings. Mr. Rawlings.β
It was a member of the Iowa City Police Department. Tony recognized him, though he didnβt know his name.Β Was he one of the officers whoβd searched the house after Claire disappeared?Β Tony couldnβt remember. He turned toward the officer and spoke, βYes, my wife needs help.β
The officer spoke calmly, βMr. Rawlings, give me the gun.β
It wasnβt that he didnβt know heβd been holding it: he did. It was that he didnβt care. The only thing that mattered was Claire and Nichol. They were safe and the police were there. Theyβd take Catherine away and his family would be safe. Holding out the gun, Tony implored, βHere, take it. Someone help my wife.β
Another officer took the gun away, while the man with the name Hastings stitched on a patch above his badge stepped between Tony and Claire and said, βYour wife? Whoβs your wife, Mr. Rawlings? Ms. Nichols is your ex-wife.β
Thankfully, the sprinklers had stopped and the smoke had begun to dissipate. Tony stood. Hastingsβ words were ridiculous. Shaking his head, Tony freed droplets of water from his saturated hair, causing them to descend down his forehead and blur his vision. Continuing to hold Nichol tight, Tony said, βGet out of my way. I donβt know what youβre saying. Claire Rawlings is my wife.β His voice rose in volume. βGet out of my way!β
Two individuals began to assess Claire as a female police officer came forward. βMr. Rawlings, is that Ms. Nicholsβ daughter?β
βThis isΒ ourΒ daughter.β He spoke as his attention went to a gurney being lowered on a scissor-like contraption with wheels next to Claire. Simultaneously another similar contraption was wheeled next to Catherine, as more people with dark blue coats surrounded her.
The femaleβs voice empathized, βPlease, Mr. Rawlings, let me take your daughter out of this chaos. Let me get her in the fresh air.β
βNo.β Tony stood resolute. βNo, Iβll take her. But first she needs to see her mother. Claire needs to know weβre all right.β
βMs. Nichols will be taken away to some place where we can assess her needs, and then sheβll be held while we determine what happened here.β
βMrs.Β Rawlings! Her name is Claire Rawlings. Stop calling her Nichols!β As Tonyβs voice grew louder, Nicholβs tiny face contorted, and her cries resumed. βWhat do you meanheld? Claire didnβt do anything wrong. We were acting in self-defense.β Tony stopped. βIβm not saying anymore until I have my attorneys.β He stood helplessly as an unconscious Claire was moved to the gurney. βWhere are you taking her? Is she hurt? If she is, she needs medical attention.β Turning his attention away from the two police officers, Tony searched for Phil. βRoach? Roach?! Where are you?β
Officer Hastings spoke, βMr. Rawlings, why would Ms. Nichols be hurt? Did you hurt her?β
Tony stared incredulously. βOf course I didnβt hurt her. Stop. Calling. Her. Nichols. Her. Name. Is. Rawlings.β
βMr. Rawlings, I must insist that you hand the child over to Officer OβBrien.β
Ignoring Hastingsβ command, Tony saw Phil heading out of the office with Claireβs gurney. βRoach! Roach?β
Hearing Tonyβs call, Phil stopped and looked his way. Obviously torn between staying with Claire or returning to Tony, Phil hesitated for only a second before he walked back to Tony. Not waiting for a question, he explained, βThey said theyβre going to take her to the hospital first and assess her for injuries.β
Tony tried to make sense of it all, yet nothing made sense.
βMr. Rawlingββ Hastings began. Tony pulled his arm away from Hastingsβ reach. βMr. Rawlings, you are under arrest for the attempted murder of Ms. London.β
βMr. Rawlings,β Officer OβBrien pleaded, βplease, allow me to take your daughter.β
βNo! No, youβre not touching my daughter. She needs to see her mother.β Tony looked toward Phil. βYou take Nichol to Claire. Keep her with Claire until Claire can care for her. Iβll get this settled in no time. I didnβt attempt to murder Ms. London. If I had, I wouldβve succeeded.β
Before handing Nichol to Phil, Tony gently placed a kiss on her forehead and tugged her closer to his chest. Three months of memories swarmed his mind, from the first time Madeline laid his daughter in his arms to their nightly private rock and chat sessions. He imagined the sweet smell of her after a bath, the way her little legs kicked in the warm water, and the way her eyelids became heavy after sheβd eaten. The thought of being separated from his daughter for even a minute hurt like no physical pain ever could.
Inhaling her sweet baby scent, Tony calmed his voice and whispered, βIt will be all right, my princess. Momma will be with you soon, and Daddy will be back to you just as soon as he can.β Gazing into her big brown eyes, he continued, βTake care of your momma and donβt forget me.β

Thank you so much for being here with us! *hug*
Such an awesome series!!! I was completely and totally consumed when I read it. My friends thought I was crazy ranting about fictional characters! Revealed was the icing on the cake, it filled in so many holes and gave us a great look into what Tony went through.
Oooh, I have to read number four. It’s just, gah, I went mental reading the first three. I’d stop and ask, ” Why am I reading this” then I’d find myself reading more. Major mind **** yet I still loved it.
Ah well, sanity’s overrated anyway.
I read the first three and didn’t think I needed book four. I was so mistaken!! Book four did “it” for me. It put all the puzzle pieces together and answered questions I didn’t even realize I had. I highly recommend this series to anyone who enjoys reading and having their mind played with along the way π
