in Fun Author Tidbits

It comes as no surprise that some of our favorite authors in the world are die-hard readers, too! Just like us, they’ve been captivated, wooed and taken to different worlds, time periods, or maybe even just the next state over, falling in love with the ultimate fictional romance couple.

And to celebrate one of our indie-original and all time favorite author’s latest book release (Midnight Soul (Fantasyland Series Book 5) <— eek it just went live today!!!)

…this amazing fantasy takes place in our world and a parallel universe where fantasies are true…but perhaps not all you would expect!

Kristen Ashley has sent over a fun list of her favorite “Fantasy” books. You know if KA loves it, it’s gotta be good!!!!

Top 5 Fantasy Reads

“When I’m writing fantasy, it’s true that I’m rarely reading fantasy. This isn’t because I don’t love fantasy, but because it helps with my writing mojo when I have a clean slate in my head. However, there are a few books and series that I think are a must for any fantasy reader, and one that I can’t wait to get my hands on now that the Fantasyland series is complete!”

About Kristen Ashley:

Author Kristen Ashley

Kristen Ashley was born in Gary, Indiana, USA and nearly killed her mother and herself making it into the world, seeing as she had the umbilical cord wrapped around her neck (already attempting to accessorise and she hadn’t taken her first breath!). Her mother said they took Kristen away, put her Mom back in her room, her mother looked out the window, and Gary was on fire (Dr. King had been assassinated four days before). Kristen’s Mom remembered thinking it was the end of the world. Quite the dramatic beginning.

Nothing’s changed.

Kristen grew up in Brownsburg, Indiana and has lived in Denver, Colorado and the West Country of England. Thus, she’s blessed to have friends and family around the globe. Her family was (is) loopy (to say the least) but loopy is good when you want to write. They all lived together on a very small farm in a small farm town in the heartland. She grew up with Glenn Miller, The Everly Brothers, REO Speedwagon and Whitesnake (and the wardrobes that matched).

Needless to say, growing up in a house full of music, clothes and love was a good way to grow up.

And as she keeps growing, it keeps getting better.

I’m reading Midnight Soul now. Golden Dynasty is one of my top reads ever ever ever. I re-read it all the time when I need that “KA, GD feeling”. It’s an actual thing with me – that “KA GD feel”. LOL. If for some crazy reason you haven’t read this series, READ IT NOW.

Oh, and I love IAD series too. And Outlander series. A Feehan. Woo-Hoo. Now I am going to go check out her other faves.

And of course a mention of Outlander would get me to delerk. I was doing so to say, that I consider that series more of a historical fiction read, but it is awesome nonetheless. And I can think of more series Outlander fans would like, no matter how you categorize those books.
