Welcome to the 43rd installment of “You’ll Never Believe…”
For those that don’t know what these new featurettes will be about, here is the scoop! “You’ll Never Believe…” will feature the weirdest questions or encounters that authors have been asked/had. Might be about their books or random things, like meetings in a bathroom where someone asked what brand of toilet paper they normally use. Fun stuff and inside scoops that an author would not normally share.
Today’s “You’ll Never Believe…” celebrates the release of Laurel Ulen Curtis’s latest book “Quirks & Kinks”. Hey this is that fun-sounding one about the girl that is on a reality tv fetish show with that guy right there! And she’s… leary. LOL!
In this installment of “You’ll Never Believe…”, the author tells us about how she met a certain someone…
You’ll never believe what happened to me.
It isn’t what you’re thinking.
I didn’t have a confrontation with a ghost or see the mirage of an angel, and I didn’t somehow find myself in the warmth of Channing Tatum’s arms with his lips slowly enticing mine.
Still waiting on that one.
Instead, for me, one of the craziest things that’s ever happened to me is something every girl thinks about—dreams about—for a large portion of her life. It’s why we read romance novels and clutch our books while our heroine’s try to stop the race of their hearts.
The craziest thing that ever happened to me was falling in love.
Simple in idea and difficult in process, falling in love is one of the craziest, most impactful events in our lives. And it was no different for me.
I grew up dreaming about how I would meet the guy for me. Would I meet him in a grocery store? Would me save me from some underlying, unseen danger? Would we look at each other once and just know? Or, for a certain phase of my life, would I be willing to let go of control enough to let it happen when it did?
But, really, it was easier than that.
Unexpected.
Unplanned.
And crazy.
Going on eleven years ago, I met the love of my life—my husband and the father of my son—through a mutual friend.
Who was the friend? His grandfather.
That’s right. You didn’t misread it. We’re talking Matchmaker, Geriatric Edition.
I never would have predicted it, and sometimes, when I look back, I still can’t believe it. This incredible guy loves me?
So, you see, the craziest thing that’s ever happened to me, happens every day.
Awwwww!!! I LOVE that!
