Welcome to the 41st installment of “You’ll Never Believe…”
For those that don’t know what these new featurettes will be about, here is the scoop! “You’ll Never Believe…” will feature the weirdest questions or encounters that authors have been asked/had. Might be about their books or random things, like meetings in a bathroom where someone asked what brand of toilet paper they normally use. Fun stuff and inside scoops that an author would not normally share.
Today’s “You’ll Never Believe…” celebrates the release of Mallory Crowe’s latest book “Trusting The Boss (Billionaires in the City Book 4)”. In this one, the author tells us about that time that she “…hid a guy from the cops” <— *gasp*
“I’m not going to lie. I’m about as square as square can get. I never drank in high school, I married my first serious boyfriend, and I’m much more likely to stay in on the weekend and read instead of going out. So I was worried I wouldn’t have anything interesting to say…until I remembered the time I hid a guy from the cops.
So I had this friend, we’ll call her Jane. She was younger than me, super pretty and involved with this guy, we’ll call him John. I’d hung out with the two of them before and knew that John didn’t have the most stable home life so when I got a frantic call from Jane one night to come meet her and John, I wasn’t horribly shocked.
Except when I got to the meeting spot, a local Taco Bell of course, John wasn’t with Jane. Instead he was hiding in the bushes in the empty lot next to Taco Bell. It was only when I got there that Jane fessed up that he and his mother had gotten into such a bad argument that she called the cops on him and he was now hiding from a patrol car cruising the area looking for him.
Now, looking back, I probably should’ve asked a few more questions about the situation. But 16 year old me just shrugged and said “get in the car!” before driving him off. And my stupidity didn’t end there. See now John didn’t have anywhere to go. If the police were looking for him (and of course in our minds, there was a helicopter scouting the area, when in reality, I’m sure the patrol car had long since given up the search).
So I did what any logical teenager would do and told him he could crash at my house. This was complicated by the fact that my mother was not as impulsive or trusting as me, so he slept in my closet all night. The next morning, after my mom left for work and before I went to school, John climbed out my window and apparently was never arrested (for that).
I suppose I’m living proof that not all stupidity gets punished. I’m not too sure where John is now, but he and Jane aren’t together anymore and to this day my mother doesn’t know this story. Unless she reads this blog….”
About the Author:

Mallory Crowe has lived in Michigan her whole life and has been in love with romance ever since she’d skip to the end of every novel, just to make sure the hero and heroine survived and ended up together. She lives with her husband and three dogs. When she’s not writing, she’s spending too much time in front of the TV, hiking, or working with various animal rescues.

About her latest book
STAND ALONE CONTEMPORARY BILLIONAIRE ROMANCE
Billionaire heiress Emma Devaroux has been living a safe-yet-mundane existence in Georgia for too long, but when she learns her sister, Joslyn, has been arrested, she heads to New York City to find out what really happened. Unfortunately, as an unemployed debutante, she’s not exactly qualified to be leading an investigation. But help is at hand in the form of the handsome, former military man Jace Lance who happens to be the one who got her sister arrested in the first place.
Jace thinks Emma is crazy for even considering working with him since he’s the one who stopped Joslyn from killing his former client. However, he can’t deny that the sexy southerner is in over her head when her tycoon cousins try to hire him to make sure Emma doesn’t find out the truth about what really caused her sister’s murderous actions.
As they begin to uncover the truth together –and get to know each other intimately – it becomes clear that the more answers they get, the more danger Emma is in. Jace is determined to protect her, but how can he keep her safe when her whole family is in on the conspiracy?
