HAPPY MONDAY!!! I have 10 new “early” book releases for you, and I’ve been pretty busy all weekend… because:
Three things:
1.) My husband saw his son off to the Air Force this morning. We are so proud of him and know he’s going to do so well, and he’s so excited about his new journey, but it’s bittersweet, and there’s some sadness in the air right now.
2.) I got a new iPad and keyboard hard case for it so I can take it to work and keep up with the book world during my breaks at work. It looks like a mini laptop, and kind of acts like one too! Much less expensive if something happens to it, instead of bringing my much bigger laptop. 🙂
3.) I’m on a huge candy kick right now (my biggest obsession as of right now: Nerds Gummy Clusters & Good & Plenty (or these!!), and I know that’s not good for me. But I LOVES IT!!!!!! P.S. Have a favorite candy? I’ve always like the weird stuff (hence the black licorice addiction and also YES… I love those orange circus peanuts that everyone hates). 😂

Nerds gummy clusters are so addicting! I love them too but am trying to cut back on sugar so I’ve been snacking on smart sweets candy. I hope your stepson does well in the Air Force, that’s so exciting! And nerve wracking, I’m sure.
1. I can’t focus on reading for the life of me. I want to squirrel, but not because the books I’m reading and listening to aren’t good, I actually like them. I just can’t stick with them past a few pages.
2. We’re coming to FL in a week!! I’m so excited. I can’t wait to have just a week with nothing planned, nowhere I have to be. No running!
3. I have big plans when we return to make another bedroom up for my youngest. He won’t sleep in it yet, but I need a space for all of his stuff. And that room is currently where the cat’s stuff is and a closet full of art supplies, the printer, bookcases, and all the kids games, sensory stuff and sand and play doh. It’s a huge undertaking and I can’t wait for the result, but also am stressing about the process and where to put most of the stuff. I’ll have to clear out the toy area. It’s time anyway.
I’m struggling with reading too. I’m actually enjoying everything I pick up, but also give up (for me it’s also the fact that I get up early for work, and do blogging stuff too) so by the time I start reading, it’s late and I fall asleep while I’m reading.
Where you going in FL? It’s so wonderful here. I LOVE it.
I think for me it’s just kids. I’m watching 2 younger ones full time this year and they’re (we’re) busy. And as all of my kids get older, there’s so much more stuff that’s of course even more time consuming. We just stopped running for sports 5-7 days a week in March. And then new seasons started so pulled in other directions. And just adjusting to that and now with the last month of school it’s just been nuts with All the field trips and sign ups and camps and emails- shoo. My oldest is a high schooler next year. She’s also doing marching band and wow is it different than when I was in it. Half the summer is dedicated to it! Also, I was on a roll running and listening to audiobooks during nap time. And, like, I’m not a runner at all. I haven’t since middle school track I bet. So, I didn’t think there was a science to it or anything. But, I guess I’m old(er) and did too much too fast bc my ankle gave out. And I think it was something to do with the tendons, but that put me on a healing track for a month. And it just threw off my groove.
Sorry, that was winded. lol! We are going to Venice Beach! We’re going to find some shark teeth, I hope.
I bought this cute little clear box thingie that I can put all the tiny pretty shells or shark teeth in. I can’t wait to go beach combing again, so I can fill it up.

I love that! I bought my son a shadow box display for Xmas, https://www.etsy.com/listing/1449648957/, that inspired this whole trip in the first place. But, seeing what all we come back with because I’m sure everyone will want something to put theirs in too.
OMG I thought I was the only person who loves the orange circus peanuts. My family and friends makes faces at me. I think they are silently shaming me 😂😂😂😂. Besides the circus peanuts, I love Australian licorice.
LOL!! YAY BARB!!! I know NOBODY that likes those and yet I love them. In fact, I kind of like when they’re a bit stale too. I have a friend that likes his peeps stale (he’d open a package and just let it sit that way for days – and THEN he’d eat them because he preferred that chewier texture and I totally get him). I like my peeps that way too (and fresh peeps are a NOPE for me).
Congratulations to your stepson! That is a big step but an honorable one! I just finished Forever Interrupted by Taylor Jenkins Reid. I was “challenged” by some of our friends who couldn’t believe I hadn’t read it yet. It was really good and I’m scared to type my first but not last book by this author!!
She’s one of my favorites!!! Such relatable characters and stories, even if it’s not anything like my life… I can feel them.
Congratulations to your stepson on joining the USAF!! My son left in January to attend basic military training in San Antonio. I pray that you all feel peace and excitement as he steps into this great and important calling.
