HAPPY MONDAY!!! Time for the early bird book releases and while it’s a small list today but we’ve got some good ones nonetheless!! Lucky 7!! 🙂

Here’s what I did:
Three things:
1.) I played a ton in my plants and landscaping this weekend. And… I found a Fiddle Leaf Fig tree at a discount because the pot it was in was broken. YAY ME!!!! I have plenty of pots to change them into, so I’m thrilled! Now… to keep it alive is the challenge (these are known as extremely finicky heartbreakers.) Eeeeep!
2.) Then… I put these solar low profile up-lights in my landscaped area (I got them on sale and 12 was the perfect amount needed) in the front of my house. They look BEAUTIFUL. So now my trees are lit up from below by solar lights I bought last year (which are still going strong after hurricanes and extreme daily sun) and now I have these creating a lit path, flat down in the ground. Nothing to accidentally kick over (which is what happened to the old ones I put in a year or so ago)
3.) I finished Imaginary Strangers by Minka Kent Saturday (it’s a good one – I love her writing but the ending didn’t thrill me as much as I was hoping for) and immediately started The Lies I Tell by Julie Clark (this one, I think I’ll like this one even more). Yesss I know, I should review before starting a new book, but I was on a reading roll and just wanted to read some more. Review(s) to come. 😉

Happy Monday!
1. This airbnb thing has totally kicked my a$$! I love doing it but I was not prepared for how busy it would make me. I don’t think I expected anyone to actually rent it and so far we haven’t had a weekend off!
2. I do have a break now though. We blocked a few weeks off and we’re headed back to Mexico Sunday for my birthday. I can’t wait to relax without worrying if I left a closet unlocked or a garbage bin full!
3. I saw about 90% of It Ends With Us Friday until a freak storm knocked the movie out! I loved what I saw though!
Happy Birthday, R!! How wonderful to spend it in Mexico! How long have you been renting out your bnb? I remember when you were doing renovations and getting it ready. Also, I can’t stop reading all the drama speculations for IEWU. I’ll probably wait until it’s streaming but I do definitely want to see it. I keep hearing good reviews.
Thanks! We had our first guests 7/3 and it was nonstop until this past weekend. It’s come to a screeching halt now though. Hoping it picks back up soon!
Mexico for a birthday. I am so happy and envious of your traveling!!! Maybe I’ll turn my house into a airbnb and spend time on a cruise one day…
I still need to go to watch the movie. Probably this Friday. It’s our “date” thing that we do early afternoon. A fun & fancy and super comfy cinebistro that we love so that would be a fun thing. Maybe even… TWO movies? After all, it’s my birthday so… I’m putting that request in to my hubby. LOL!
This is the only traveling we’ve done or will do for a while. I really just want to stay home and streamline this rental process (and figure out a way to keep bookings consistent through the fall. I thought we’d be able to travel while it’s rented but that is not the case! There are just too many moving parts! You would not believe all the things we have to replace in between guests. This time it’s a window screen, 2 pillow cases, the “fake” drawer front on a kitchen cabinet, a patio umbrella, a power strip, and 3 fire TV remotes. I’m not even sure I can get just the remotes! Patio umbrellas and the rings that hold garbage bags in our trash can are practically weekly purchases. I finally stopped buying the rings because guests keep throwing them away.
I think you’ll be happy with the movie. They did a great job. I can’t wait to see the end!
Random, but have you seen the first omen yet? We watched it last night and loved it. Best horror movie I’ve seen in a while!

1. I mostly binge read on the weekends. I’ve had some really good luck with the ones I’ve read this summer. The Return of Ellie Black and The Lovely Lie were unputdownable thrillers. The Love of my Afterlife and Happy Medium were fun, with heart. And We Used To Live Here boggled my mind and freaked. me. out!
2. I occasionally watch episodes of The Good Wife because there is nothing else new that appeals to me right now. I did go see Twisters at the outdoor theater and whew!!! That was awesome.
3. This is the last week of summer break before school starts and I’m really sad. And anxious about the next year. Praying for a good one.
I’m bingereading on weekends too. I have a full time job, plus my blog in the evenings and weekends, so my reading is def. on weekends. But I’m happy to say I’m loving the reading time again. 🙂
School has started here as of yesterday, and my husband’s youngest son has just started high school so big changes here for sure. And I miss you guys here. It’s harder to chit chat when I’m working all day like I used to be able to do. But it’s a fun job at least and my crew is awesome, and quite a few are HUGE readers too, so it’s fun to compare notes.
But I miss our constant interactions. Maybe when a book bug bites us really hard and throws us all into a frenzy together…
