HAPPY MONDAY EVERYONE!! 😀 Welp… it would seem that the holidays are officially over now, and I’m trying to get back into the “beat” of my old normal routine again, but apparently this weekend was not going to be it. LOL! I. Crashed. Hard. Like a lump on a log. 😉 BUT!!! I’m back and I found us 20 new books that just went live early including one by ALY MARTINEZ!!!!! And one by Abbi Glines, too!! *claps* But first…
Three Things:
1.) Took my tree down and all my Christmas decorations and now I feel melancholy. This Christmas was amazing and I’m a bit sad all of that excitement and all of those plans with family and friends is already done.
2.) I got hooked on a Netflix show (Good Girls) HOLY MOLY that show is crazy and addicting. But I was actually overly-absorbed into it and when it started getting a bit dark in the second season, I needed a breather (still have a couple of episodes left to go but whoa). The show is so intense that I was feeling freaked out and my mood kept changing with the storyline. I didn’t even mean to get involved in a show. It was supposed to play in the background while I did blog stuff. Ooops.
3.) No cooking this weekend. Nothing at all. Just leftovers from my freezer. Thank goodness I make an abundance of food when I do cook, so on “crash” weekends when I’m just not into making anything, I can still feast. LOL!!!
What’d I tell ya? I totally crashed.

I didn’t see it mentioned but Susan Fanetti’s The Name of Honor released this weekend. I just happen to stumble on it. I’m enjoying this series and can’t wait to read.
oooooh!! Thank you Erin!!! I’m adding it. 🙂
I finished it today. 4 stars. I enjoyed it. Older MCs too, which I like as well.
1. I stayed up too late watching tv. 11 PM is sadly too late when my alarm is set for 5. I know this. I know this even as I’m doing this.
2. Been doing this too often, not enough sleep for a couple weeks, and feel some cold symptoms coming on.
3. Need coffee. Lots of coffee. Coffee. Coffee. Coffee.
Sounds like you need some tea too. It always soothes me or makes me think I’m fighting stuff anyway. Mind over matter over here.
You don’t post anything about Kristen Ashley anymore?
I saw some reviews on goodreads about her latest work and some readers are giving up on her.
It’s been a while I read anything from her and I wonder should I buy her latest books
Hi Cat!
I post her new releases for sure, but I’m just reading other things right now, so I haven’t read a Kristen Ashley book in a year, I believe. Maybe 2? I haven’t given up on her though. Just reading more “twisty” jaw droppers.
Good morning!
1, I took my tree and decorations down last week and it made me sad. I havent shaken the post-holiday melancholy yet either. I want spring to come and it’s a long winter here.
2, I’ve decided I am not doing any yearly book challenges in 2020. I find they stress me out instead of being fun and force me to read books I’m not in mood for. It feels good and liberating!! I am still doing some of Grey’s monthly ones though…those are fun.
3, Sitting here sipping coffee and pondering what to cook for the week. Imagine how cool it would be to have a personal chef? I want to make these stuffed shells my MiL makes with ground meat & spinach but I have to ask for recipe.
Off to tackle laundry & try to get some audio book reading in.
Sounds yummy! It’s actually not been as cold as usual here. It’s tricking me into thinking it’s spring. I even planted some seeds and sat them in the windowsill. (Grass, cat grass and lavender). I opened up all my sheers so they get enough light and it feels so much brighter now. I left up my new Christmas gnome my Mom got me for my bday from a little German shop in Chicago. He’s too cute too pack away.
Leslie M – you and me are identical “Monday three things twins” right now.
Challenges are too stressful for me too. LOL!! I love hearing about them though, and getting surprised recommendations once someone has jumped in.
And I would LOVE a personal chef. One that can create anything… in KETO version. 😉 Holy moly I’d be healthy forever!
1. I love Good Girls too!! I love Rio and it’d be so cool to see him and Beth become, like, king and queen of the crime world. But, at the same time Rio scares me and I don’t see how that would actually work out in the long run. Also, I think Beth is crazy. Lol
2. I’m actually watching 911 right now, it’s pretty good. Hulu tricked me a couple days with no ads and now I want it, BAD!!
3. I made some changes to my basic stir fry yesterday and did fresh green beans, sweet potatoes, yellow squash, rice, egg and Tuscan herb infused olive oil on baked chicken, all cut up and thrown together. It was SO delicious, the chicken especially, I almost didn’t want to ruin it with soy sauce or anything, but it worked out good. Felt like a lighter meal. I’m planning on meatloaf and a pork roast with some pickled veggies thrown in the crockpot yet this week. And I have bulk sausage to use up, so maybe a pasta with diced tomatoes, olive oil, parm and basil or something. Something not too heavy on the sauce.
Rio scares the crap out of me. Rutheless. SO calm and laid back but pyscho at the same time. Makes him even scarier. And I love how he speaks. His quiet demeanor, his body language… his intonation… his snark.
*shudders*
I know some of you have done the Keto thing. My husband has decided to try it. Is there a website or cook book that has really good and EASY Keto recipes?
I actually just google my heart out when it comes to Keto, and every time I feel like cooking something, I type in the name of the dish but include “keto”
Keto is pretty easy, overall. Everything can be substituted and for me… delicious.
Oh and also I’m a part of a few Keto Facebook groups that helps a TON and lots of questions answered on the spot, as well as shared tried-and-true recipes and photos of the “real thing”
Here is one of them: https://www.facebook.com/groups/194283057753087/
Thank you so much!! That helps. Last night I cooked cashew chicken and broccoli but just doubled the meat and he didn’t eat the rice that the kids had. Thanks for the Facebook group recommendation!!
I just saw Michelle Williams Globe acceptance speech. So good. I know many do not like it if celebrities touch on politics, but this is so good.
I didn’t watch any of it (I rarely watch award shows anymore) but I DID devour the last three episodes of Good Girls. OMG THAT LAST EPISODE??? I think I know what it means, but I need to look it up – spoilers and explanations. How ominous.
And yes, of course I will watch season 3.
Maryse you made me giggle with your ‘crashing like a lump on a log’ comment.
I like the sound of all those leftovers. Sometimes a break from cooking is just nice.
It’s very smoky here today (and for the next few days apparently). Southern and eastern Australia is having a very bad bushfire season this year, and the smoke has spread everywhere, even over to Auckland in New Zealand, apparently. Crazy.
Luckily I’m not directly affected by the fires, but the smoke is quite hazardous and we all have to stay inside as much as possible. No gardening this week.
Sadly there have been some lives lost, and lots of houses and property as well. We are all praying for a swift containment of the fires. A lovely big downpour of rain would be wonderful!
That is terrible Jan. I hope they are contained soon. I hate that feeling of watching those percentages hoping each news cycle they will go up. Last summer was the first in a few years where the sky was just smoke and ash it seemed like. I believe Australia and New Zealand have sent firefighters to help us several times.
But thinking of all the homes, people, animals and nature is heartbreaking. Rainforest and koalas?
Hope your weather joins in the fight.
Where the sky was not smoke and ash. It was a beautiful summer.
Some US fire-fighters have recently arrived to help us out. It’s great to see. We really appreciate it. They have also called in the (Australian) military to help out, including the navy who had to evacuate people from the beach!!!!!
OMG so freaking scary!!! I keep hearing about rain and downpours suddenly. Is it true? Is it helping at all?
I was thinking of you BIG TIME this weekend, wondering if you were directly affected. My sister in law is from Australia and has family there of course. I’m so worried.
Makes me so sad for the animals too… seeing those pictures.
Yes sadly many animals have been lost too, including farm animals and native species. 🙁
Just finished Release by Aly Martinez. Is a very good book, lots of angst, chemistry, a good dose of reality and an amazing love story. I recommend it!
YAY!!!! Thank you Harper!!! I LOVE HER!
