Happy Monday!!! Today’s list is sort of a short one but tomorrow looks like it’s going to be a big release day and I can’t wait to play with that one!! 😀
Three things:
1.) Birdy is using his whole cage!!! I’m so happy now. He’s actually flying in it and it makes me laugh because he chirp-squeals every time he actually flies like he’s on a roller coaster or something. LOL!! He’s too cute!! But he’s using it, all three levels like a big Birdy!
2.) I watched a horror movie called Midsommar while I worked on this list and it freaked me out and turned my mind (and mood) into a mess. What a mind*ck. So incredibly disturbing and visually creepy and shocking. Cults and rituals. Slow and creepy and just. Holy moly NO. Just don’t. I don’t know why I do this to myself. And yet I love reading about them and watching them. I liken it to me learning how NOT to get sucked into one. 😉 But this one made it so I did not sleep well at all.
3.) I started “Release: A Standalone Friends-to-Lovers Romance” yesterday morning and couldn’t stop reading until my guests came over. In that small amount of time, I’m already halfway through it cause I was so into it. It’s good you guys. But of course it is. It’s Aly Martinez and I love her. I’m almost done listening to Daisy Jones too. So two reviews coming this week. 😀

Wow. You’re reading release, I can’t wait to know what you think. I liked the blurb but I wanna know if he treats the h well and if there’s a lot of angst.
So far he’s pushing her as hard as he can!! Which I love… I wanna work for it. 😀
Yay for Birdy!! I’m so happy he’s comfortable and back to himself again! 😊
1. I’m reading The Other People by C.J. Tudor and have to keep stopping for life so it’s not going very well. I love the book so far, I just think there are some (most for me) books that you have to read for a decent amount of time in sittings. And I’m getting like 5 min here and there and it’s driving me crazy. I was talking to a fellow swim Mom this weekend and she said she reads religiously every night from 9-9:30 bc she can’t afford to be tired the next day and I am in awe. I cannot do this. When I start (especially at night bc there are no interruptions) I cannot do a set time. I don’t have the discipline. 😬
2. I’m getting my kindle cover in the mail today! I’ve been waiting 3 weeks or so? And it feels like I’ve been waiting longer. I haven’t read much on it bc it feels naked and vulnerable 😂. I like to get cases that are built super tough for my phone and tablets and they don’t seem to have those for kindles, but anything is better than nothing. So, I had my heart set of a handmade item from Etsy and I’m excited to see what it’ll look like. I had the words “Once, with my initials” put on it bc I couldn’t decide between sayings (also, there was a small amount of characters you could use) and it felt fun. Like, an open ended story in there.
3. I watched 1 episode of Sabrina last night. I tried them way back when they released and I couldn’t get really into it, but I liked it this time so I think I’ll try again. Also, spaghetti for supper tonight! Need easy comfort.
I don’t have the discipline, but my sleepiness fixes that for me. 😉 It doesn’t take long anymore that I fall asleep while reading (at night). Daytime, I’m good to go!!
Oh I LOVE getting handmade things. I hope you send us a picture!!
The new creepy Sabrina? Or the cute older episodes? I used to watch that show a ton.
Will do! The new creepy Sabrina. I loved the episode through the cornfield, but I couldn’t follow what was happening back then bc I was so used to the old one I think. I just was episode 4 of the 1st season last night and I really liked it, so maybe I’ll get back into it.
I think my hormones determine my sleepiness level lately, so I have certain weeks where I feel really bogged down and certain weeks where I feel a restless energy. Sometimes they mess with my focus too. It’s like clockwork, I know exactly when I’ll feel it.
I barely slept last night. Catnapped mostly. Ugh I HATE when that happens. And that damn movie kept playing in my head. What was I thinking???
Ok, I emailed you via your gmail. ☺️
I LOVE IT!! Very distinguished. 😀
Happy Monday!
1. I’m getting new windows today! I grew up in this house and I can’t remember the last time I could see out of them! There are a ton, and every one is cracked to some degree and super dangerous to even clean so we’ve just kept them covered with window treatments.
2. I picked up The Sun and Her Star by Dylan Allen and I’m loving it! Spans over a decade from the MC’s childhood with an interesting premise I hadn’t read before.
3. I’ve been busy with Magnolia May’s playlist and I think I’m close, but if anyone has a favorite new artist right now, let me know so I can check them out! I used one of bev’s suggestions for Riders and it was perfect! The feel I’m going for is country-ish, folksy, bluesy–mostly, because Lifehouse is mandatory.
Oh it’s going to be wonderful to have new windows R! Probably an energy saver too!!! That is so cool that you’re living in the house you grew up in. I love that.
OMG you’re right! And our elec bill is ridiculous.
It has it’s good and bad parts. My dad built it so I still have hand prints in the concrete and our names carved in the patio, but it’s a constant work in progress and I wish I could pick it up and move it to the city!
Wake up Maggie, I think I’ve got something to say to youuuuuuu….
One of my favorite songs EVER, in the world. Brings me back to a very young age, and a very fun summer.
That song’s on there! So is one called I’ll Never Be Your Maggie May by Suzanne Vega! But the theme song is Bluest Eyes in Texas so that’s why I’m going with the country-ish feel. Super cheesy country from the 80s but I love it!
Not sure what themes you are going for but since you mention blue eyes then have to rec Pale Blue Eyes by the Velvet Underground. It’s been on repeat since last year. Sad song though.
Love this part:
If I could make the world as pure
And strange as what I see
I’d put you in a mirror
I put in front of me
I put in front of me
Thanks! Even if it doesn’t work, I love finding new music!
R, for country that has that personal story telling vibe I love this one by Charlie Robinson. Just looked at the date and now 20 years ago. Released in 2000. You’ve probably heard it cause he is a Texas boy but I only would see it on CMT…..when they actually played videos. The video is fun too, he was married to a Dixue Chick and you can spot them in the crowd at a concert.
Now I got myself a little band,
And we’re pretty good I guess
But I never learned how to wear my hair,
And I never learned how to dress.
So I’m leaving for the last time honey,
I’m never more to roam.
Gonna pack my bags a little heavy this time gonna head my ass back home.

I love his sound! Reminds me of a band I chased during college called The Great Divide!
*eep* New windows!! I hope install and everything runs super smoothly.
Thanks! My new sliding glass door was broken, but I’ve waited yearssss. I can wait a couple more weeks! Side note, the installers are cute!!
Ahh, people watching is the best. 😂 We got a new mailman last year. 👀
We could use one of those!
Right?! Lol. I never pay attention usually, but this was so rare it was a nice shake up to my day. 🤣
I used to have a huge crush on my Schwans man. My husband used to get mad at me for ordering so much. One of my best friends married her UPS guy.
Hahaha!! I love Schwans. My Grandma used to get a ton of food from there weekly or monthly or something and stock her deep freezer and it was open to anyone in the family. How sweet that a romance blossomed with her UPS guy! ❤️
I was just talking about the schwan man that used to sell pizza burgers to my mom when she was a teacher. I grew up on them!
Okay I have no idea what a Schwan man is but I’ve learned he’s cute and he brings you food.
Tell me more! LOL!
😂😂😂
Has anyone read Credence by Penelope Ward yet? It kept me up all night. I couldn’t sleep until I finished it. It was soooooo good. Highly recommend it if you want a book you can’t put down.
Penelope Douglas is the author. Sorry got my Penelope’s mixed up. lol
I do that too sometimes. 😉
