- Don’t Kiss the Bride: An Age Gap, Marriage of Convenience by Carian Cole <— AGE GAP ROMANCE JUST WENT LIVE & SO MANY ARE LOVING IT!!! “…Jude “Lucky” Lucketti wasn’t just a sexy, brooding construction worker. He was my own personal hero who seemed to be in all the right places at the right times. Like when my car broke down and I needed a ride home, and when I face planted on the sidewalk right in front of him and had to be taken to the emergency room. Those weren’t exactly my best moments, but they were his. We became friends, and it didn’t matter that he was sixteen years older than me. We had a lot in common—like our love of old rock music and vintage fast cars, and our aversion to relationships. When he approached me with a crazy idea to help me out, I couldn’t say no…”
Daffy: This book is beyond!!!! Absolutely loved it!
Nancy: JUST WOW!! MY 5* REVIEW; DON’T KISS THE BRIDE is one of those books that is the main reason “I Love to Read Books!” This story was able to keep me reading way into the night.

YAY Fiona!!!!! I’ll add your comment 🙂
Yayyy, thanks Fiona! It’s an 16 years age gap. It already got bonus points from that alone in my book
Looks really good Fiona…Started reading Carian Cole and like her books. Thanks!
I’m reading now!! So good!! I have read many of this author’s books.
Read it. Loved it. Slow burn goodness!
Good morning!
1. I saved the last 5% of In Five Years until I crawled in bed last night–I thought it was 15% but the last 10% is book club BS. 🙄 I wanted to start something else, but I was so gutted I couldn’t focus, so I just went to sleep like a normal human. I loved it thought. And after reading the reviews, I think it helped that I went in blind because there’s a line in the blurb that is very misleading.
2. A few weeks ago I had a bunch of veggies that were going to spoil if I didn’t do something with them. I chopped and bagged them per this recipe (https://bit.ly/3aCTj1p) and tonight I’m going to try it. I have low expectations but high hopes!
3. I spent Saturday night in Austin. One of our favorite places really embraced social distancing early on and they have a very comfortable venue now. Picnic tables are spaced WAY out and you can go listen to music and eat and drink. They even allow dogs so I’ll be bringing Alice next time. The other part of Austin that we usually go to was packed. Standing room only in places and few masks. It was very disappointing.
Jealous about Austin…picnic tables in winter. Lucky you!
It was in the 80s!!
You know I’m interested to hear how your veggies turn out!
It was so good. See my response to Maryse.
OH this recipe will be perfect for me. I never get through my Misfits box fast enough… I even had to switch to once every 2 weeks.
Thank you!!!
I highly recommend! It was so good and made our whole house smell like an Italian restaurant. It was hard to skip the crusty bread, but I persevered! I (mostly) thawed the bag of veggies and threw it in with a rinsed/drained can of northern beans (I didn’t freeze those with the veggies like the recipe says), and some sliced smoked turkey sausage. Then I covered with chicken broth (probably 4 cups) and cooked on low for almost 6 hours. I topped with lemon juice and parmesan cheese.
Oh my!!! That sounds amazing! And…I’d miss the crusty bread too…but good for you!
What a great release week! I was so excited to see the new Carian Cole. Jumping into it today! My state lifted its stay at home order last week but who are we kidding, no one was or is staying at home. I need a few good thoughts as my 14 year old daughter is trying out for the High School Golf team today and this week and is really nervous!! Fingers and toes crossed! She really wants varsity but she is a freshman so I hope she can make it.
K., good luck to your daughter!! I remember try-out time when my kids were in high school. It’s so stressful!
1. I finished In Five Years – great read over the weekend. Can’t say much as it’s a “twisty” book.
2. Listened to a retro music program on CBC (Canada) on Saturday night. Wow, memories of high school, dating came flooding back. Nice to hear Motown music (lived close to Detroit), Neil Young and other Canadian music, and then all the usual suspects… *sigh*
3. Leaving today to hang out with my 9 month old grandson & family for a couple months. Our covid numbers are bad but the lockdown now allows airbnbs (yay!) and no police roadblocks. Five hour drive…no stops at service stations for us. 🙂
Wow a couple of months! Have a great trip!
Safe travel, Mony!!
Sounds lovely. Enjoy your time with your family.
Have fun Mony!!! It’s going to be wonderful!! ❤️
Stay safe and have fun.
thanks everyone…safe & sound…roads were in good shape…already got a little hug. 🙂
Dean all the way!!
