Good morning everyone and happy Monday!! I’m still working on today’s “early birds” list so keep checking back, but I thought I’d post it now anyway since there are some awesome sounding ones already. 😀 A nice way to kick start the week!
Also… MARCH’S AMAZON FIRST READS are up!!! 😀 I chose… “The Perfect Marriage” (’cause it sounds like it’s everything but. LOL!!) 😉
THREE THINGS:
1.) I went on an airboat ride this weekend.
2.) I saw dolphins swimming together on that ride.
3.) I also went to St. Pete Beach this weekend (trip advisor deemed it the #1 beach in all of the US). It’s about an hour away from me it was the perfect day. Low 80s, the sand wasn’t hot, the breeze was amazing, the beach wasn’t too crowded, and it was such a peaceful day. And also, no sunburn since I was properly covered in sunscreen and had a beach umbrella for shade. 😀

Michele G: Maryse, I just finished We Begin at the End by Chris Whitaker yesterday. Absolutely amazing! Gave me serious Where the Crawdads Sing vibes.
It wasn’t set near the coast and wasn’t the same time period…it was all in the character development. I really loved it. I believe it releases on 3/2…but I had to pop in and let you know.

1. Maryse’s Florida.*sigh* I want to go to a warm beach just for one day.
2. I’ve been taking beautiful evening walks…lots of pretty snow & Christmas lights still on.
3. I need to get my hair done. It’s been 12 weeks, with lockdown now on week 6. I am a fright. 🙄
LOL!!! Yes it was a fantastic day, but your walks in the snow and the pretty lights sounds like heaven to me, too.
It’s been 6 months for me but a friend got me in with her stylist Wednesday.
Lucky you R!…my roots are quite something 🙁
Oh it’s pretty bad. I can barely get a brush through it at this point and the grays are showing, but I don’t go anywhere so I keep it in a rat’s nest bun on top of my head.
I want to cut my hair so bad. The summer before the pandemic started for me.
Good Morning!
1. I started Behind Her Eyes last night. Not sure what I think about it just yet, but I’m only a couple episodes in.
2. I’m *still* reading The Bronze Horseman and will be for the foreseeable future. I swear I read forever last night and only jumped one percent! 😂
3. I bought these Rubbermaid FreshWorks Produce Savers and I LOVE them! I keep one on my counter for tomatoes and two in the fridge, one with peppers and one with citrus. They really work! Tomatoes last well over a week and I have lemons and limes that are over a month old. I bought one for asparagus too but haven’t tried it yet. https://amzn.to/3r0L4TD
Oh I totally need these produce savers. With my misfits veggie boxes, I try and use it all up as fast as I can so it doesn’t spoil, but I always end up having to throw some away.
YAY R!!!!! Thank you for this find!
Did you ever try that “leftover” veggie soup?
YES!!! I love it and also I do a sort of leftover veggie casserole too.
BUT… sometimes I’m just not up to cooking or have so much to do, that when I go to cook, some stuff went bad.
So these containers will at least improve my chances of extended “veggie life” until I’m ready.
Keep going with The Bronze Horseman, Robin. You won’t regret it. I recommend you finish the series on book 2 though. I was so angry with the third one.
Mia Sheridan’s new book, Once We Were Starlight is out. It sounds so different from what she has written. I’m excited to read it.
Ooooooooh!!! Thank you for pointing it our Kathy! I’m adding it. 😀
Your 3 things sound exciting and adventurous, Maryse! My rents are in FL now too. I’m not ready for a suit anytime soon. 😬 My middle is desperate to go back though. Just thoughts of vacations at this age exhaust me so, but he’s making me feel guilty. I may break down.
It was. I had a GREAT weekend, but I’m exhausted today. Another good night of sleep and I’ll be good again.
I chose The Light Through the Leaves for my prime first this month. I actually think that several had great reviews so far and gave me little blurb jolts- like Lies We Bury (I almost went with that one) and The Secret Stealers and The Perfect Marriage, but I’m tired of marriage thrillers and WWII era historicals and I ❤️d Where the Forest Meets the Stars. I didn’t even know the author was writing another book, so I’m looking forward to reading it.
For my BOTM I chose The Lost Apothecary and Legendborn as an add on.
I’ve been lost in Prythian for well over a week. As soon as I finished A Court of Silver Flames, I was desperate to go back so I did a re-skim of the first 3 books and I felt so lost when it was over. So, I discovered there was a novella after the 3rd book- I didn’t know! I’m saving reading that for when I’m ready to be sucked into that world again. Until then, I’m finishing a couple that I’d started and got distracted from and then jumping into the Grishaverse with Six of Crows. I read the first recently in a spin-off of the same world, Shadow and Bone, and loved it. I plan to have read all from that series before the airing on Netflix in April. Goals!
1. Can not wait to cut off my covid hair……maybe this summer? ?
2. Beautiful mild spring day today. That perfect fresh breeze.
3. I’m now a vaccinated person.
My husband and I have visited St. Pete’s for a couples trip twice. We loved it! Such a quaint and fun little town. We stayed at the Sirata which is an older hotel but clean and right on the beach.
Now I’m dreaming of the beach!
