HAPPY MONDAY EVERYONE!! I’m loaded in good energy and so excited about a few new hobbies I’m interested in (thanks to a few videos I’ve watched this weekend). Never fear… my books remain my #1 hobby (but it’s hard to say books are a “hobby” when it’s almost my whole life, right? It IS my LIFE!!!) But it’s always fun to have a few things to pick and choose from on the spot. 😉
Three things:
1.) HOBBY #2: I planted my purple heirloom tomatoes!! Purple Cherokee I think? Anyway, most delicious tomatoes I’ve ever had (I get them at Aldi) and I saved the seeds out of the ones I made sandwiches with and every single one of them sprouted. And now I have 12 and have no idea how I’m going to do this, but I’m doing it. LOL!! Florida is REALLY BAD for growing tomatoes (at least for many, so I may just need 12 plants just to get a few). We’ll see… 😉 I’ll keep you updated. *ahem* Remember my “bird poop corn”? LOL!!!
2.) I watched Den of Thieves 2 Pantera, and I LOVED IT!!! Excellent, exicting, edge-of-your-seat movie and I may just have loved it even more than the first one. Also I loved listening to the French and Italian in the movie. I’m French so I had no issue understanding that, but I once spoke almost fluently Italian as a child (due to where I went to school, and lived – very Italian focused) and it was fun to realize I understood most of that, as well.
3.) I think my next mini hobby will be learning Spanish and Italian on my spare time. It would be wonderful to be fluent. Or… do I want to start a dual-purpose hobby where I’m doing cardio and learning the “Shuffle” at the same time? It looks like SO. MUCH. FUN!!!! But I get exhausted quickly doing any cardio (I have no endurance yet – but it will build if I don’t give up, right?). Yep. I have all the hobby interests, so I hope to fit in a few more. 😉

1. I want to learn Spanish so bad but there is just so much I can do on my own without needing immersion or a regular tutor!
2. We finally booked the airbnb for this weekend and dare I say I’m unhappy about it because it’s screwing up my writing schedule?!
3. I am not a multitasker–I have a very one-track mind–so I’m not sure how writing and airbnb-ing will go this summer, having to totally switch back and forth between the two. I’m a little terrified of it!
Yes!! Italian for me was immersion because I lived in the Italian district and my babysitter was an older grandma that ONLY spoke Italian. My school was Italian Catholic school and we even had Italian speaking & writing classes, so I was fluent-ish for sure.
And I get you. If I’m in a certain “mode” creatively, it’s very hard to switch back and forth. While I AM a multitasker, it’s only for practical or work. Anything creative, THAT is what I’m doing and only doing and any interruption… like say, having to go “out” really messes with my mojo.
If I weren’t such a procrastinator it wouldn’t be so bad. I could just get everything done I need to do and spend the rest of my time doing what I want to do. But, oh no, I have to wait for the last minute!
Is it possible to be both? I used to think I wasn’t a procrastinator (and was a do-er/multi-tasker/super organized), but my type A husband definitely thinks I am…NOT so much any of those. I thought I was type A but apparently I’ve relaxed in my old age. LOL!!!! It stresses him out to no end.
Maybe it’s because I’m with such a type A person that I’ve relaxed somewhat. You know… balance. 😉 And I know he’s got me – all I have to do is let him know once that I have an idea, or a need, or something to do, and he will remind me until it is done. Tee heeeeeeee!!!
I’m actually quite thankful for that. I’ve been so much in overdrive over the last decade and controlling everything to make sure it gets done and it’s handled and it’s perfect etc etc…and now, I have a partner that is my perfect match and that helps me SO much. I can breathe again.
