HAPPY MONDAY!!! A few BIG new releases from some of our favorite authors just went live in the last 24 hours, including that one to the left (Natasha Boyd!!) 😀
THREE THINGS:
1.) I’ve begun watching The Game of Thrones. I know… I know. I am SO behind. BUT IT IS SO GOOD. I’m only on season 2 and I have so much to learn.
2.) I now have one archery “range lane” set up at my house. In my garage with the perfect backstop. YAY practice!
3.) I had a quiet yet amazing weekend.

A widowed, hot, billionaire of a daddy. And if there’s anything that Josie needs less than having to be stuck on a yacht, no matter how luxurious, it’s an inconvenient and highly-combustible attraction to her new boss. A man who, for all his wealth, is grumpy, conceited, and utterly closed off...”
Kathy: Broken French is calling to me! Just my book catnip!

Confident. Playful. He’s almost perfect. And, to make matters worse …He’s smitten with me. I know what you’re thinking. You’re rolling your eyes. You’re assuming this is some opposites attract situation—or that maybe we can be friends who turn into something more. How can this be a bad thing? Well, it’s simple. I’m not the kind of girl you fall in love with. Just to be sure, the universe reminds me of that in an unforgettable, in-your-face kind of way…“
- Rockstar Rebel: A Hero Club Novel by Christine Besze <— OLDER WOMAN/YOUNGER MAN ALERT!! “…Writing for an upscale magazine in New York City is a dream come true. Everything is perfect, until it isn’t. Now, I’m unemployed, single, pushing forty, and living back at home with my parents. Mid-life crisis anyone? Then he walks through my parents’ front door and it all fades away. Sebastian “Bash” Jagger is grown up and all man. This new version in front of me is as cocksure as they come. Some would even call him a Rock God. And he’s about to turn my world upside down with an offer I can’t refuse. There’s just one problem. He’s my younger brother’s best friend. My much younger brother…”
- Bad Intentions (Intentions Duet Book 1) by Ella Frank <— ELLA FRANK M/M ROMANCE!!! “…When I showed up at my roommate’s work party, the last thing I expected was to find a man straight out of my dreams. He’s got the perfect job, the support of a big Italian family, and a bevy of women eager to grant his mother’s wish for grandchildren… except the woman he really wants. Good Morning!
1. I got the first 2 chapters of Emma Scott’s The Sinner over the weekend and I’m salivating for more. I can’t wait to share the first line on Thursday. It’s a great one!
2. I snagged super cheap flights to Paris Friday night, just in time for the EU to announce plans to open up! Prior to that we were looking at flights to Osaka ($240!!!) but it appears Japan will be closed to visitors for a longgggg time.
3. I had breaded and fried anchovy stuffed Spanish olives yesterday and I cannot believe how good they were. I’m craving them. For breakfast. It took a lot to get me to try one but I’m so glad I did!
OMG I AM SO JEALOUS!!!! PARRRRIISSSSSS!!!
And yes, those stuffed olives would totally be my thing!
I’m so excited! We had to cut our vacation short when covid started. This will definitely make up for it!
So jealous.
YAY bev!! I missed you! Whatcha been doin’?
Read anything great?
Ah, Paris! lucky girl!
I would love a report back on things are going there! oh, any great foods you had…
Have great trip RR!
We aren’t going until Halloween (anniversary) but I’ll definitely come back with a full report!
I’ve been considering trying GoT again. I’ve started it a few times and never made it passed the second episode. But I desperately need another show to get lost in!
Supposedly it is so addictive and re-watch worthy. I’ll likely only be watching on weekends though, because blogging and reading is my nightly after work fun. 😉
Broken French is calling to me! Just my book catnip!
ME TOO!!! I love grumpy, moody uninterested heroes. Sounds like a total slow burn *fingers crossed*. I’ll likely be reading it too, after my current read.
1. I am almost done with the last book in my April tbr. Yay for reading again.
2. So I made another tbr.
3. Bought way to much manga yesterday. I ran across someone’s best of 2020 list, lol.
But bday presents for myself.
Happy birthday!!! It’s always fun to treat ourselves!! 😀
When is your birthday?
Today! My bones are creaking.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY! And good try but I know you’re one of the youngsters in the group!
Happy Birthday Bev! Wishing you good things in the coming year!
Happy birthday bev. Best wishes for a lovely day and year 🙂
MERCILESS SAINTS by Michelle Heard was suppose to be released today, but was released early. If you like dark mafia romances than this book is for you.
I’m adding it to the Tuesday list!! 😀
You are the Best!!
Maryse, enjoy GOT! I binge-watched all seasons during quarantine and then had to “cleanse” my soul with Friends haha 🙂
Also, I’ve read All the ugly things last week and was a little disappointed (is there a review?) so I’ve read Where the blame lies and Remembering Ivy during weekend and my bookish heart is now satisfied 😅 I recommend all 3 books!
My new tbr is From the embers and there are a few others on this preorder list that seem interesting sooo…thanks! 🤗
Hi Ivana!!! If you meant “All the Ugly and Wonderful Things” I too, didn’t go crazy for it. It was a hard read for me.
Here’s my review: https://www.maryse.net/books/book-review-all-the-ugly-and-wonderful-things-by-bryn-greenwood.html
1. My husband roped me into an early morning discussion about winter travel plans – Spain or Sicily. Huh??? I was not awake but I could see how keen he was to travel and stop thinking about covid. I think I did okay sipping coffee and listening.
2. I’m reading favourite oldies these days – Burning Dawn by Showalter (sexy, crazy funny), I Capture the Castle (gah, beautifully written love story), and now Mystery Man (again!).
3. Had a zoom birthday dinner party for my husband yesterday with our kids. It was really cool…pizza, lots of wine and game of “Most likely to…” Felt great to laugh…
Ooohh good choices! I’d jump on either of those, but I bet Spain will be easier to enter than Italy.
Hmm. yea, might very well be!
Last year we were in Rome (8-15C) & Spain in Jan & Feb, then hightailed it back home due to covid. It’s warmer there than where we live…that’s all we want (- 0 to -30 C)!
Wrapped up Beautiful Savage last night! Thanks for recommendation Maryse!! Couldn’t put it down. Had no idea what direction it was going to go!! Not sure what to read next. Broken French maybe? Grayson?
Also is anyone watching the new Kate Winslet HBO series called Mare of Easttown??!! Only 2 episodes in and I’m hooked!!! Love it!!
OH I AM SO HAPPY!!!! Isn’t she an incredible writer? Storyteller. I need to read more from her…
