GOOD MORNING MY FRIENDS & happy Monday. 😀 I hope everyone has a peaceful Memorial Day today. I’m a bit behind on today’s Monday Earlybirds (that’s to say, I’m not such an early bird right now since I’ve been fully taking advantage of this long lazy weekend) and so I’m just starting the list now. LOL!! 9:00 am. 😉 And drinking coffee and taking my time.
“Three Things”:
1.) I cooked whole chicken breasts in my air fryer yesterday (at 360 degrees for 9 minutes on each side – I had marinated them in lemon juice, then sprinkled salt and pepper and olive oil all over them before cooking) and OMG I must say they are tender and juicy and delicious and perfectly golden on top. This is truly my favorite way to cook chicken breasts (unless I’m turning them into chicken piccata, which just can’t be beat but best done in a frying pan). 😉
2.) It looks like it’s going to rain here today and I certainly hope it does. My grass could use some serious rain. It looks like someone blasted parts of my lawn completely bare (where the weeds have now been taken care of) and I had to plug plugs. GROW PLUGS GROW!!!
3.) I had to cut a whole branch off of my Umbrella plant this weekend ’cause it was going mushy. Like… the outside “bark” layer was dissolving and it was spreading up (and down) the branch to the healthier parts. So I cut it down at the base. Makes me sad. This plant is so pretty and LOOKS healthy, and is still impressive in size, but it’s pickier than I anticipated. It hasn’t grown any new babies that I can tell… and the one thing I learned is, the more you water it (I mean… even just once a week), the more it drops its leaves. YIKES!! It prefers dry. I think I just need to repot it altogether. I suspect it’s root bound.

‘Fragments of Delores’ and it had me on the edge of my seat (when I wasn’t worried for the MC’s life or swooning over the guy who really loved her)! If you’ve not read it, I highly recommend!!

I gave my Umbrella plant to my MIL. It’s thriving. 😂 I couldn’t keep up with it and had to seclude it bc of my animals.
1. Decided super last minute, yesterday, to go on a 3 night trip, tomorrow. Am overwhelmed and avoiding packing. Am making lists like crazy.
2. I can’t leave my Goosey and it’s driving everyone nutty. I am a helicopter dog Mom, it’s ridiculous and I can’t stop, won’t stop. Lol. He’s special needs, cuz he’s afraid of so much and I don’t wanna backtrack on the progress I’ve made, see.
3. I miss me time. Ima read the whole driving trip. Someone hold me to it.
*sigh* better go pack be4 I get caught
Tasha are places open? Do you know I dont even know if motels and restaurants have opened in my town yet.
My family members own a cabin a not too long drive from us where a few small trails are open, some gem mining, butterfly conservation area. They have a rec barn where there’s plenty to get into and a hot tub, pond for fishing.
I think it’s absolutely ridiculous how they’ve closed nearly all trails in my state. So have to probably really hunt for the ones that are. We wanted to originally do some day trips around here to them, but they’re all closed.
We visited parents at their lake homes (campers) this weekend and holy moly were they flooded with people. The lake too w/boats, boat beaches. I can’t say I miss tons of ppl. Never could stand how busy it was, but I’m over it and I’m glad others are getting out more too.
A cabin in the woods sounds wonderful.
But I’m one of those people that hot tubs gross me out in the best of times and right now…..no way, lol.
I’m the same way with my dogs. 🐕 I love them too much and they need me and I need them.
I swear it kills me just to leave them every day for work, so anything… “weekend away” … well let’s be honest. It just doesn’t happen unless I have someone that can stay at my house with them to cuddle and love them and give me non-stop news (and that doesn’t happen either).
So…

See!? Is that really so much to ask? My Mom is watching mine and is super peeved with me and my list of rules. It’s like I have a newborn, honestly. The older one is well established and I don’t worry, but this guy is a stick to his pack like glue kinda boy and super sensitive and lacking some confidence in some areas, so I don’t just wanna drop him for 4 days. That’s too big of a leap.
But, I should stop stressing on the other hand.
I asked my trainer if it’s really realistic that others will have him anyway and why is it such a big deal that he’s ok with strangers taking his leash or keeping him for a bit and she said I can’t always rely on my Mom (hah! that’s what I’ve done w/all my kids, little does she know) and she’s always had people come to her house cuz I said I didn’t like kennels. But, you have to know people willing and trust people to do that and I don’t, so….pet friendly places, anyone?
I’m so glad to hear that. I thought I was the only one. I feel so sad just leaving my baby puppy to go to work. He’s such a gorgeous one. He’s 7 months old. I wish I could put a photo on here because he really is gorgeous.
Books yes books, I have just finished Beautifully Cruel by J.T Geissenger has anyone else read it. So damn good, couldn’t put it down 5 big big stars. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
As for the Covid19 in our state of Australia we’ve had 1500 odd cases 19 people die and we are still in lock down, restaurants aren’t open, beauty places, large gatherings Are not allowed , 10 people at a funeral, shops are just starting to open. You are only allowed to leave your home for 5 reasons. Must be why we have such a low rate of infection. No one is allowed to leave the house to go away. A learner driver got fined for practicing driving as it wasn’t one of the 5 reasons you are allowed to leave home. Schools are just starting to reopen. We have had around 100 people die in the whole of Australia.
That is amazing Melinda. I havent seen as much about Australia bit that you all acted fast. I’ve seen that many people seem to be in love with New Zealand’s PM.
My Ahjussi is coming to Netflix too. It is one of my most favorite shows.
I think Vili is still probably the best places to watch it because the usually have better subs and sub the music to, but still. I’m glad to see it get a wider distribution.
FINALLY!! It was hard to watch our show on that program, and they were only giving me the first 2 or 3 shows and then I had to subscribe I think, but I HAVE Netflix and now I can watch My Ahjussi properly and on my TV instead of on my laptop. I am SO happy!
I’m a subscriber so I cant see which shows are free or not. I have to get back to my re watch which I stopped.
I just spent a couple days binge watching Hospital Playlist on Netflix and I’m in love with it. Oh, I want to be a member of this group of friends. I love them. And they are all supposed to be around 40 which I love. It’s been my safe and happy place. I’m going to be sad when it ends this week. But it might come back with two more seasons which usually I’m against but for this I hope so.
So the new KA just landed in my library. I have no memory of preordering this, lol. She is not an automatic buy for me anymore.

New Michael Connelly book is out. It’s called Fair Warning and is about Jack McEvoy from The Poet. Not romance, but I know many of your readers enjoy a good suspense story too Maryse. In this new one McEvoy is hunting down a serial killer.
Connelly is a terrific writer and one of the few non-romance auto buy authors for me. I’m in the middle of Suzanne Brockmann’s Troubleshooters, but looking forward to Fair Warning when I do get there.
