HAPPY MONDAY!!! Here are the books that just went live early (and I’ll add more as we find them). π
βThree Thingsβ:
1.)Β Okay so I watched it. Β 365 DNI (on Netflix) was… *blink blink* er… over-the-top and kind of goofy (lots of clothes modeling sequences – everyone is gorgeous). That said, y’all were right that it’s super-hot (like “OMG I CAN’T BELIEVE WHAT I’M WATCHING ON NETFLIX RIGHT NOW” HOT) and at times infuriating (JUST like our books), and yet.. I kind liked it. Tee hee!! Though that cliffhanger was a killer.Β HOLY MOLY THE BOAT SCENES… and well. ALL of “those” scenes.
2.) I made salmon last night (with lemon juice, all wrapped in foil with vegetables – baked). It was… meh. Fishy. I usually love salmon (and I used to make it with a honey mustard sauce when I was eating sugar and LOVED it, but… I’m not near as impressed with this boring version. LOL!
3.) I’m back to my old insomnia self, night after night. So I am tirrrrrred right now.

Discovered a new author to me. Recently read the Checkmate series by Emilia Finn. Wickedly good! This book was my favorite in the series!

Thank you Caroline!!! I’m going to check it out right now. π
It just read Beautifully Broken Pieces (Sutter Lake Series) by Catherine Cowles. It was my first book that I have read by her. I definitely would recommend it! I hate comparing another author to another but if you like Devney Perry, you will enjoy this book.
I love Devney, and I’ve heard great things about Catherine’s series, so I REALLY appreciate the feedback, Kathy!!! π
Sometimes a “comparison” is needed to give new readers a feel… and a lot of us are exactly in the mood for that feel.
Tillie Cole had a new book out yesterday called Thoroughly Whipped. I might have missed it on your blog but thought I would mention it just to be safe;)
Good thing!! I missed it, too, so I will add it to tomorrow’s Tuesday list!!! π Thank you Kathy!!!
So, I have a weird question. When an author lists a playlist to go along with their book, is there certain chapters that the song should be played with? For example, The Girl In the Love Song, Emma Scott lists a playlist before the book begins. Should we be listening to those songs at specific points throughout the book?
It depends on the author. Most, if not all, of Emma’s songs appear in her books at various places. And she does have a spotify playlist for them, but I’m not 100% on the order. She treats her playlists like soundtracks, and they even include opening and closing credit songs. With TGITLS, she also has two songs she wrote that are linked in the e-book where they appear. They’re both on spotify too.
Some authors like me have playlists that *accompany* books. The songs may or may not appear in the book but they’re intended to enrich the experience, so to speak. And then there are authors who do huge playlists of the music that inspired them to write the book. Eleanor Lloyd-Jones does this, and I get tons of new music that way!
Thank you, Maryse!!! xoxoxo
YAY!!! Absolutely my pleasure, Emma!! π
