HAPPY MONDAY!! 14 books on today’s list and I’ll be adding more if we find ’em! 😀
THREE THINGS:
1.) Heading to the vet today with my Hobbit. She’s been sneezing a lot so off we go to investigate. Oh she’s going to be so mad at me!!
2.) I’m not sure how much I love Hulu’s “new look”. Since they changed it, it kept crashing on my Firestick and I had to uninstall and reinstall it. Hopefully this does the trick.
3.) I had chicken piccata on Saturday. One of my favorite guilty pleasure suppers!! I even ate a few noodles… 😉 Shhhhhh.

Good Morning!!
3 Things:
1. I got a new coffee maker. I don’t drink drip coffee much, it never tastes as good when I make it. But, I like iced coffee a lot and cold brew and occasionally I’ll crave a regular ole cup of Joe so I thought maybe it’s the coffee maker itself and not the users fault. It was a hand me down simple old thing. So anyway, I got a Ninja hot/cold brew system and I got to try it out and it’s 👌🏻. Still have to play with it more.
2. I’m watching Outer Banks on Netflix. I waited for a long time cuz I could’ve sworn there were reviews making fun of it and I didn’t really know what it was about or anything, but I got curious and I’m reeeaallly diggin it!! It’s about a treasure hunt and kind of gives me Goonies/The Outsiders/maybe Blue Crush or Titanic or something vibes.
3. 6 more days till my Castle getaway!! I’m so excited, I should’ve made it longer.
I have a ninja and love it. It makes great iced coffee and tea too, which I keep forgetting about! Ours has started holding water in the filter section. It still makes a full cup but it’s like it uses too much water to make it. It doesn’t affect anything, we just have to dump it out after. I probably need to clean it somehow but I’m lazy.
I’ve read about issues like that. I’m hoping it’ll give me a couple years though before it starts giving me trouble. I read the clean button comes on when you need to clean it and one reviewer said she does it weekly. You can use a descaling solution or vinegar it said. I’ll be using vinegar.
There’s a clean button? 🤦♀️🤣
There darn sure is!! 😂😂😂
Omg, lol! I read that instruction booklet front to back, I was so nervous it was gonna be super difficult, but it doesn’t seem too bad. 😂🤣
OMG LOL!!! I LOVE IT!!!! You sound just like me, R.
1. I’m still reading Midnight Sun as slowly as I can, yet trying not to put it down. It takes skill, I tell you!
2. I’m making that yummy chicken breast again tonight with an asparagus, artichoke heart, sun dried tomato, kalamata olive, and garlic saute.
3. I literally can’t think of anything else but dinner now. 🤷♀️
Oh yum!! I need something g super fast for dinner tonight, soccer practice starts and I’ve got nothing set out and nothing planned. *sigh*
Your chicken dish sounds like Mediterranean heaven!!!! My favorite.
I’d throw on some crumbled feta at the end… but it’s because I want to put Feta on everything.
oh yum!! I love that idea! A local restaurant serves it as a “low carb” option with sliced chicken or shrimp, which is where I got the idea. They also make one with roasted red peppers, spinach and artichoke hearts that I haven’t tried. I’m obsessed with roasted red peppers now, so I need to!
Maryse, chicken piccata is one of my absolute faves! And Robin, have you shared this scrumptious recipe before and I missed it? Is it in Maryse’s recipe section on here?? I must have it…please 🙂
I stalled all last week on reading Exodus (I didn’t want it to be over) and finally jumped in this weekend…I thought it was great. It doesn’t exactly go the way I would have liked….and it’s emotional as heck….I felt like I was walking through a mine field with every page ….there was so much happening and several revelations. It was definitely some twisted mind f-ery…no doubt about it. Kate Stewart did a great job….very different style for her and she knocked it out of the park!
Now….the book hangover….The Two Halves of My Heart is calling me….apparently I want to continue to shred my poor little heart….angst and more angst.
Donna sent me the chicken method! I’ve spent the last 2 days going through his other videos. I’m doing the sprouts with ghee and thighs next week! For the chicken, I’ve just done the pan fry method. Follow it as exact as possible. https://youtu.be/DYdOPjjBvm0
The side isn’t a recipe. I just saute a can of halved artichoke hearts, some pitted kalamata olives, sun dried tomatoes, and cut asparagus with about a tsp of jarred garlic and olive oil until the asparagus is cooked. It’s a great low carb side and a pantry staple if you leave out the asparagus. I tend to get that going first (if I’m using it), since nothing else needs to cook, and add the garlic last since it’s the likeliest to burn. Sometimes I mix in shrimp or chicken or eat it over spinach. I think it’s best as a side though.
Thank you!! Sounds super yummy!
Just got back from the vet… blood work done and results tomorrow but for now they’re treating her with antibiotics.
Everything else looked good for her age, so YAY!
I finally followed your recommendation and read Flock and Exodus. I’m shook. What a mess! It felt like a train wreck I couldn’t stop reading haha Every single character was so flawed and so well developed. I’ve never read a story like this one. It will for sure be in my list of best books of the year.
👏👏👏 I agree Harper! A fave for 2020!
Not quite as intense, but Darynda Jones also knocked it out of the park with A Bad Day for Sunshine (Sunshine Vicram, #1).
Like a fine wine, it has a complex bouquet of Rock Chick, Fargo, Kate Daniels and more…🥂🥂
So well written with twists and turns – couldn’t stop turning the pages! So sad when it was over…
(Not a PRN nor kinda kitchy like her Charley Davidson series)
Oooh, I read A Bad Day for Sunshine. I can’t wait for more. I loved the Charley Davidson series too. I didn’t pick that one up until there was only one book to go, I think. I kinda prefer that so I can burn through a series at my rate. Picking up series that only release a book a year or so is frustrating but usually worth the wait. I don’t know how I remember what’s going on with how many books I read in between, but I do.. Between books and lyrics maybe that’s why I can’t remember why I walked into the room! 🤣
Jody, I’m the same. I rather wait than have to read the whole series again when a new book comes out.
Mony, I’ll add it to my list! Thanks 🙂
Yes, not having the whole series is a pet peeve of mine.
Didn’t know it was book #1 of a series when I read it but glad I did. There is closure on many of the plot lines in the book so it worked out fine.
The downside to starting a complete series is if you fall in love with it, there’s no new books. That’s happened a time or two.
