HAPPY SEPTEMBER & GOOD MORNING EVERYONE!!!! 😀 I consider September officially fall (no matter when “they” decide fall is), and I’m so excited. We’ve officially hit my favorite time of the year!!! SQUEEEEE
Okay so, I’m late with the Monday Earlybirds ’cause I decided to work on the list leisurely this morning on my nice Labor Day holiday, sipping my coffee. And what a wonderful Monday it is. Sorta. 😉 The bird (Birdy) is chirping, okay no… the sun is not out (’cause Dorian is making his stupid-butt way over here), and I’ve got the whole day ahead of me to read.
Three things? Yep!
1.) I’ve started “An Anonymous Girl: A Novel” and so far it’s phenomenal. Has that Tarryn Fisher feel (the two main characters, and their POVs are female – I LOOOOOVVE THAT with that slight creep-factor) and I can’t figure out where this is going although I have my guesses. I loved these authors’ “The Wife Between Us” and while this one is completely separate from that, it still has those feels… along the same betrayal lines. YAY!!!!
2.) I don’t believe Hurricane Dorian is going to affect us directly other than a TON of rain. When I first told y’all about it, at that time it was supposed to cross Florida state from the east coast to the west coast (where I am) and hit us pretty much directly then. Now it seems it will “hug” the entire east coast and continue upwards. We’ll have lots of rain and maybe some wind… but who knows. There have been last minute surprises in the past, so I’m not 100% out of the woods (but pretty sure I am)…
3.) That said, my aunt and my uncle and my cousins in Freeport Bahamas are in the direct, HARDCORE path of Dorian, so we’re on edge here. My aunt is actually vacationing in Canada right now visiting my mom and their siblings, but the rest of my aunt’s family is still in Freeport bracing.

Good morning! Happy Labor Day! Hubs has to go into work at 3pm, so we’re not doing anything special–just going to try to read. I finished Forever, Interrupted yesterday and loved it (thank you, Robin!) and I’m hoping that it’s pulled my out of my ebook funk. Just have to decide what to read next.
Maryse–I saw what Dorian is doing to the Bahamas this morning. I hope your uncle and cousins stay safe! That’s got to be such a scary situation to be in. We get quite a few tornadoes in Nashville and the surrounding areas every year and they scare the crap out of me. I can’t imagine being in the path of this behemoth!
Looking forward to hearing what you think of An Anonymous Girl. Quite a few of us got it from Netgalley and read it earlier this year.
I saw that on GR and squealed!! So glad you loved it. That ending tho! And Fruity Pebbles…AKA the cereal I’ll never be able to eat again!
1. I just finished 3, 2, 1 and now I’m jonesing for some Sierra Simone. Think I’m going to start
A Lesson in Thorns next.
2. I went to see Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark yesterday with a friend and it was cute. Definitely not scary. I let her pick because I didn’t recognize a single movie playing aside from Where’d You Go, Bernadette. I never go to movies and I never watch TV so I have no idea what’s out there!
3. I’ve been doing a lot of “percolating” on my next book and pretty much have it plotted. Scott Eastwood is the inspiration for my H, so I plan to start binging his movies soon, all in the name of research, of course!
Stay safe Maryse and keep us posted on your family!
Maryse, I am sending good thoughts and prayers that you and your family stay safe and that the storm passes soon.
Recent release feedback…… Hush Hush by Lucia Franco was a 5 blazing stars for me.
