Good morning and Happy Monday!! Today’s list has three books that gave me a blurb jolt (one involving a soulmate mark that her boyfriend DOES NOT get.. two involving crushing on someone that is already taken – unrequited love!!:D ), and of course a couple of second chance romances that are sure to warm our hearts, including a new one by Susan Fanetti!!! But first…
Three things:
1.) I let my Birdy (my little canary for those that missed it), out of his cage for a bit. I put my dogs away (I certainly don’t trust them around him – they’d see him is a free-moving squeaky toy I’m sure). He was too cute! No flying around, just hopping and pecking. When I wanted him to get back in his cage, I just put it on the floor near him, and he hopped right back in on his own. 🙂 Success!!
2.) I ordered a few “Leonid Afremov” paintings that I fell in love with from a Facebook ad. I hadn’t heard of that artist before (but basically because I wasn’t specifically looking for art yet – so I don’t really know any of the modern artists), but I flipped when I saw how beautiful his work is… just pulls me right in. And now, quite a few are on their way to me. 😀 Strangely enough, he passed away just 4 days after I learned about him. Here is one of the oil paintings I’ve received. I still have to get it wrapped on proper frame-stretcher bars for hanging oil paintings (so it’s not done yet – you can see the undone edges that will be wrapped around the frame…) but I’m in love with it.
3.) I watched John Wick 3 this weekend and it was so good and so action packed I could hardly catch my breath!! Over-the-top and it was like watching a video game. Next level, and each level got harder and harder but WOW. Though… I was fuming at one scene (just like I was fuming at one scene in John Wick 1). Can you guess which one? 😉

P. Dangelico is an automatic click for me and I see her book comes out tomorrow!!!!! I loved her Wreaking Ball and Sledgehammer books. Can’t wait!!!!!!!!
Lisa, I read the ARC of this – loved it! Enjoy!
YAY!!! I loved Wrecking Ball too!!!! *happy wiggle*
Omg! I’m even more excited!!!!! Wiggle wiggle!!!!
Love the painting, Maryse! Birdie sounds like a sweety. ☺️ I’ve still not watched John Wick. Lol
1. I fully believe my computer/printer/desk area are cursed. Haunted. Whatever. And I’m thinking I should sage them to rectify the situation. I wonder if you need someone more specialized in that area though for it to really work.
2. EVERY single time I go to do a simple task, I kid you not, something happens to where I can’t do it easily and I spend hours trying to do it and end up calling someone else to fix it. I never use it, except to download pictures from my phone, occasionally browse the internet, and print off something. Sometimes I make something in Word to print. That’s it!! *curses* Recently, it’s my printer which I’ve had since July of last year. 2nd printer here btw. I’ve used it less than 20 times, had to clean the cartridges once a few months after purchase and it’s been smooth since. I’ve not even had to change out ink, that’s how much I use it. So a few weeks ago, I printed a document easy peasy. Last night, I go to print and it goes through the motions, but every page is blank. So, I print a demo page and it’s fine. The color is a little off, but at least something came out. Then, I do quality test. It’s utter crap. Clean cartridges twice, still utter crap.
3. Please tell me what kind of computer and printer you have. I need one that copies/scans/has color/and wireless. And not too much $$ bc it’ll surely break in no time. It’s doomed to be cursed.
Oh I want to know about that kind of printer too!! I’d love to be able to print from my laptop in the living room to my printer. Mine is not color, but it is laser and scans too.
Though… I have to plug myself into it to print anything. *sigh*
Oh, I love wireless printing! I didn’t even know it existed until a few years ago. I do the majority from my phone. If only my printers would last. ☹️
I can sit outside with my laptop and print to this printer in my office.
Oh, and you can get it on Amazon too.
Tasha, I’ve had my HP Envy 4520 for years and it handles the many, many chapters I print for editing. It’s super easy to use and I’ve never had a single problem with it. And it scans and makes copies too. The 4520 is the older model; the 5055 appears to be the latest and it looks like they’ve upgraded the ink set-up. $50. https://store.hp.com/us/en/pdp/hp-envy-5055-all-in-one-printer
Thank you! This is what I need. Reliable and non expensive. Now, what laptop do u use? I just don’t have faith in mine anymore. Or the desk. Haunted!
Mine is hp officejet 3830 btw, do not buy it. Lol
I really wanted a Mac so I could do my own formatting with a specific Mac software, but in the end, Mac had issues I wasn’t willing to overlook. The newest model has a keyboard with no give and I read many reviews that said it was like typing on a table top. That’s a no go for me when I spend my days writing. So, I went back to PC and got a Lenovo Yoga C930 and I love it!! It’s the perfect size. I can carry it anywhere. It has a great battery life and can be folded into a tablet (comes with a stylus too so you can write or type–haven’t tried it yet tho) or tented upside down for presentations (which is what my husband does) but that feature would be great for watching movies. It comes standard with Alexa too! I couldn’t be happier with it! And it’s touch screen which I didn’t care about, but now that I have that feature I don’t know how I lived without it!!
This is my Yoga https://www.bestbuy.com/site/lenovo-yoga-c930-2-in-1-13-9-touch-screen-laptop-intel-core-i7-12gb-memory-256gb-solid-state-drive-iron-gray/6295989.p?skuId=6295989
Oh, this looks sleek! And has great reviews. Do you think it has enough space to download pictures from my phone onto it and still run smooth?
I’m sure, but that’s not my area of expertise. I had all my pics on there when I first got it but I ended up moving them onto a thumb drive just because. I wanted to keep mine as clean as possible because I have no less than 10 tabs going at once and 6 apps.
Tasha–I also have a Lenovo. Mine’s much more basic than Robin’s (no pad or flipping and it’s an i5 instead of an i7 and has less memory)–it’s an Ideapad 330S. I’m extremely happy with it!
Robin’s has a crapload of memory. I’m sure it’d be good for pics and running smooth. I think mine would even do well with that.
I’m glad that you mentioned this printer thing because son #1 and his gf just broke up and I lost my (her) printer in the split. 😭 When they moved back from Chattanooga in December, she didn’t have anywhere to put it, so I told her I’d keep it safe for her (since mine was 10 years old and wouldn’t even connect to my new laptop). Sooooo now I need a new one and this looks perfect! Thanks, Robin!
No prob!
Maryse, I love your painting! Absolutely beautiful!!
Ditto! It’s gorgeous. The style reminds me of the artist I use for my covers!
Thanks guys!!!
It’s just so…. romantic and peaceful and quiet. I love staring at it. I’ll show you more as they come in (all in this serene style). He’s amazing.
I normally like more contemporary stuff, but these just pulled me in and I couldn’t help myself.
Good morning and happy Monday! So excited to try to finish The Escape Room today. I’m at 65% and still loving it. Getting ready to dive back in!
Maryse–FYI Silver Brewer by L.B. Dunbar, which is part of her new Silver Foxes of Blue Ridge series, releases on 9/12/19 and it’s gone up for pre-order on Amazon. I LOVE the cover!
Have you shown a pic of Birdy yet? If you did, I missed it. Oh, and I love your painting–it’s beautiful!!
Yes, I would love to see Birdy too!
YAY!!!! I’m going o add it now, Nay!! I love it when books feature older couples.
I can’t remember if I posted Birdy yet (he’s a red canary) but I’ll back track, and post a picture of him again, even if I did. 🙂
Thank you so much about the painting. I love it too!!
I like the paintings. I think my mom would’ve loved them since the light glistening in them is very Thomas Kincaide.
1. I am contemplating getting a dollar tree headset or using my spare computer headset for music when I go on my trip at the end of the month. The cheap one would only need to last through two one hour airplane trips but would have that cheap sound to them. The computer one would just sound nicer but have that dangling extra plug.
2. Speaking of trip, I’ve gotten to putting anything I don’t need but am taking with me in a backpack. lol I have small items to my family in there I’ve seen over the year in there, plus swimsuit and my Halloween shirt.
3. My battery had overheated and stopped working last week or the week before. GAH I got a new one from Amazon for cheap thankfully. Now, the interesting part! The new one came, completely flat like a normal battery. The bad one? Twice it’s width! 0.0
