Happy Monday everyone!!! Twenty new “early birds” just went LIVE and I’ve highlighted quite a few that sound exceptionally fun!! 😀 Like of course, that one to the left. 😉 I LOVE Elle Kennedy, and also Ruthless and a new one by Kate Regnery sound right up my romance alley too. Oh!! And a forbiddeny unrequited love. *oooomph*!!! But first…
Three things:
1.) Horror movie friends… Annabelle Comes Home was the scariest one yet. That whole “The Conjuring” series / “Annabelle” spinoff series is one of the best truly-scary horror I’ve ever seen and they just keep getting scarier. I mean, holy moly at one point, the scary just never let up and I was on the edge of my seat totally tense and FREAKING OUT. I LOVE IT when a movie gets to me enough to sleep with the lights on. *claps*
2.) What I’m reading now? I’m halfway through “THE ISLAND: A Romance Novel” (over 400 pages – so lots to “live” in it) and enjoying it (a few things are a bit too good to be true, but I kind of love those miraculous touches). The forbiddeny stuff is about to start (they are both married, but not to each other) and have been stuck here for quite a while so… you know. *blink blink*
3.) So… I have never fully dyed my hair in my life (minus some highlights way back in my teens), and well, now, I’ve got some grays. Not much yet, in fact I’m not even sure it’s enough to officially start coloring my hair on a regular basis, but enough in certain areas (my temples – and a few of those baby hairs growing in) that I’m not sure they look like “highlights” anymore. 😉 *sigh* BUT!!! I found this (L’Oreal Root Cover Up) and I bought a can in dark blonde, and OMG!!! It works!! Of course, the spray was intense the first time I tried it, but once I got used to the pressure and how to point the nozzle, just a quick light spray on a few “grayer” areas and streaks, and it’s gone. Also, the areas that I do spray kind of get this weird texture thing going on (kind of like a dry shampoo but a bit more intense – though you can’t tell by looking at it) and you can soften it a bit with your fingers (though I kind of like it, because it’s like a texturizer for your hair which adds a bit of volume). So this works for me! *phew* I can get away maybe with another year or so before committing to a coloring schedule. *claps*

Good morning! I need more coffee…
Ok, I now have my third cup of coffee…this should do the trick.
So many of those goodies up there sound fabulous! I added a bunch to my wish list.
Maryse, redheads dont really go grey!?!? Hubs is a ginger. He went from flaming red as kid and now at 49 he is this awesome shade of strawberry blonde. Such a waste on a man that doesnt appreciate it. Anyway, take it from me, avoid coloring your hair as long as you can. Its diff for me as I’m brunette and started to grey as a teenager. Grey against my dark hair looks like a skunk and is horrible. I have to get my hair done every two weeks!!! So if you do have to start doing something professionally, I would rec highlighting rather than coloring or you will be dealing with roots every two weeks.
YAY!!! Thank you for letting me know, Leslie!!! *phew*
Probably why I still don’t really need to dye my hair yet. It’s incredible!! But I do have some greys that annoy me, and yes, dying on a schedule seems daunting (and I know me… if it’s complicated, I tend to “forget” to do it). *snort* So I’d be a mess…
I highlight to try and blend them in. 🤷♀️ I have been doing for the last few years. I am not ready to be grey or completely dye my hair. I’ve never dyed my hair either and though just a dishwater blonde I have always liked my own color.
Bev, I was completely grey in my 30’s. I’m always jealous of you all with light hair who can highlight and blend. I should have lightened my hair when I was young and gradually went blonde. Now to try to do it I’d have too much damage as I’m into wearing my hair long.
My mom has always had dark brown hair, and now she’s a platinum blonde. It took me a bit to get used to when she first went that way, but now it’s so natural on her. But she DOES have it colored on an exact schedule. Lucky her best friend is a hairdresser.
I like my color too, bev, though my red went to strawberry blonde as a teen, and now I’m a dark blonde or light brown. People who first meet me never see me as a redhead anymore. I miss my “redder”.
So if ever I do start full-on coloring, I’m going the color of Amy Adams:

or this:

I inherited some undesirable traits from my mom, but one thing I didn’t inherit was her early gray hair. Whew! My dad didn’t start graying until his mid 50s, and so far I only have a random gray hair every now and then…which is good considering my hair is darker than it used to be. Although I miss the brighter auburn shade I used to have with more red in it. 🙁
Lord help our bank account when I actually DO have to start dying it…
However, I am considering getting some warm caramel highlights which would make my hair look like this (the color, not the length…because I chopped it off last year 🙄):
The darker color is pretty much what mine is now.
I LOVE THIS COLOR!!!!! Gorgeous hair, too. YES DO THIS!!!
1. Just got back from vacation on Saturday. This is the first “with it” day I’ve had. OMG so much fun. Disney World during the Food and Wine festival, though I suck at drinking alcohol. lol I had two drinks the whole time, and the actual snack credits, I didn’t use much. Went to Epcot, and the place closed before I could use a lot. The first time we went to Epcot was for the rides and we had dinner at Biergarten, a German restaurant that’s Oktoberfest year-round, so no snacks. The second we got there at 6 and it closed at 9. Still LOVED it. 🙂 Ended up spending 4 credits ot the candy store in Disney Springs and one cupcake at the hotel on the day we were leaving. lol Got dried fruit, cotton candy for little dude, caramel apple that still needs to be eaten, and shortbread cookies which worked on the plane. 5-hour flight. OMG
2. Speaking of dying, right before we left, I dyed my hair a black with blue/green tint. Very Halloween color. 🙂 My favorite color is green and it looks like it’s poison. Which looked great with my Briar Rose dress(peasant Sleeping Beauty). I love that dress. <3 😀
3. Books – I finally started Moonstruck by Dannika Dark. No idea why it took so long, but I'm definitely enjoying it.
Welcome back Tessa! Sounds like a great time!
Thanks. 🙂 It was And at Animal Kingdom, on the safari ride, the giraffes were out, including a bunch of juveniles 😀 and they were just walking right in front of the vehicle. We had to keep stopping to let the giraffes pass. lol TOO CUTE!
I was starting to wonder where u went, if you’d disappeared on a hiatus as well. I missed u! I’m glad you had tons of fun on your vacation!!
GASSSSSP I WISH I COULD SEE IT!!!!!! I love the sound of your hair color!!
Oh Tessa, what an amazing trip!! And the memories you created for your little dude are priceless. 😊
Thanks for the Annabelle update! I’ve been in the mood for something scary! I’ve only seen The Conjuring. Do you have to watch the Annabelles in order?
I get just enough grays to be annoying, but my schedule is “whenever I go somewhere” so at I pretty much only get highlights when I travel–which is 2 or 3 times per year. They’re not all that obvious on me yet though
Not really… (it all makes sense in each one) but hey… I’m a horror fanatic so if you can watch it all in order that they came out, I would. They progress for sure (AND backtrack) but they just get crazy scarier. I don’t even know how they do it…
Usually the first is the scariest but yeah… when it comes to Annabelle they are just scar-horror geniuses.
1. It’s Mermaid Retreat week! Nay, Michele, Ela, and Jen are headed here on Thursday! Eeep!! I’m so excited to see everyone!
2. My readers group is going ballistic over Perfect Strangers by J.T. Geissinger. Thinking of reading it next (whenever I start reading again).
3. The Browns play tonight! And I’m changing my “shot per score” rule to “half-shot per score” because last week was a high-scoring game and I barely survived it. 🤪
Can’t wait!!! Woo Hoo!!
Is that why I saw random Browns fans posts? I thought it odd on a Monday. Lol
This is their second Monday Night Football!! But they apparently don’t like Mondays because this game is as bad as the last one. 🙄
Aren’t they all? My Dad is a big Browns fan. I used to like them, probably just because my family did. I’ve never been a hardcore football follower. Now I just don’t care for sports. I like to wear the T-shirt’s though. Haha! I tell you, the day they go to the Super Bowl, I’ll be really into it. 😂
I’d be happy to make the playoffs!!
I’m wearing the T-shirt Nay sent me for my birthday now!
OMG I AM JEALOUS!!!!!!! And happy for you!
LOL on the shots-attack.
My boyfriend is a huge college football fanatic and a baseball one too… so he’s losing it right now/
I can’t wait either!
And I’ve got Perfect Strangers primed and ready on my Kindle. Looking forward to seeing what the fuss is all about.
Robin–did you see how “well” the Titans did? Our kicker missed FOUR field goals! Needless to say, they released him yesterday. I feel bad for him.
I have a few greys now. I tell myself to embrace them, people pay a lot of money and maintenance to get the gray look and here we are, aú natural. Like Diane Keaton, she’s gorgeous with her greys and I never viewed her as “old”. I do think it’s easier to color as a dark, dirty, I dk what my true hair color is called, blonde. I dye here and there since I was 15. All over highlights, blonde, red, brown, full color, whatever I’m in the mood for. More when I was a teen, bc I didn’t have to pay for it. 😂 And I was wilder, so I colored for fun. Stylists, good ones, are so good with the color nowadays, that I always ask for something and modify it to fit me, so not so bold as to where you’d notice roots and need to update. I’ve never been on a schedule. Sometimes, every 6 months, 2 years, a year, whatever. I do it for fun, not cuz I have to. Though now I battle myself to accept my hair color, whatever it may do, and not shell out money to cover it. Every now and then I want change and never regret it or notice it looking funny growing out. It’s fun to change it up sometimes!
My 3 things-
1. I can’t get ahead on anything with these needy, whiney boys all day! 😭 I have a party to prepare for and I don’t remember the last time I dusted.
2. I’m so groggy and tired lately. Bone tired, all month, all I wanna do is sleep.
3. I’ve started The Rust Maidens, in between my eyes drifting in and out during nap time. I’m really loving the writing and story, so far, VERY early in, but I’m there, I feel the character and that’s the best in books.
My 3 things:
1. I’m not a big fan of horror movies or books anymore. Before kids I loved Stephen King, and now I can’t read him at all.
2. I use to dye my hair, it was a darker blonde. I’ve done red, browns, blonde on the outer layer and a dark colour underneath, I’ve also dyed my own hair… not as scary as you think. Then I started going grey. I would highlight and low light, one day I saw my grey (it was time for a colour) and it was this really nice salt and pepper shade. I had become tired of colouring so I let it grow out. I love the colour, and I’m surprised at how many people comment on it. My salon did highlights as it was growing out, so that it was a not drastic colour change. I use a purple shampoo that helps to tame down the yellow and if I use it every day my hair picks up a very subtle purple hue.
3. I’m looking for something new to read. I finished Park Avenue Player and loved it. I couldn’t put it down. I followed that up with Sin-Shot by Raine Miller – this is a hockey themed book about the The Vegas Crush and forbidden romance.
Have a good evening everyone.
Michelle, I have just read the best book. It’s called “Mine” by Courtney Cole. Best book I have read all year.
Loved every minute of it.
GASP!!! I just one-clicked that one last week. YAY!!! Thank you Melinda. This one sounds right up my alley.
Maryse, you have to read it. I will give you a teaser. Imagine going through your husbands iPad and finding nude photos of another woman!!! Then pretending to be Ethan the husband, messaging Lindsay the other woman, saying the house is empty, come over. She gets there, a note saying meet me In the bedroom. Only the husband Ethan isn’t home. So who is? It’s sooo good.
GASP!!!!!!!
Thank you for the suggestion. I will have to one-click it!
Michelle L Did you guess the twist or did it smack you in the face like it did me?
I read THE ISLAND a couple of days ago. Wasn’t realistic I didn’t think because everything was a little too easy. But it’s a book and it is the author’s imagination. I really ended up liking it. Found it slow in some parts. Loved the ending and would suggest this as a good read for anyone.
Yay!! Thank you JulieO. I shall continue on…
