Good morning and happy Monday everyone! 😀 I can’t believe Halloween is over already. It’s time for another early-birds list and we have a new one (that one there to the left) by Molly McAdams!!!! Plus a bunch more from our beloved favorites. But first…
Three things:
1.) I love pan fried steaks and pork chops and bacon, but I can’t stand the day-long smell of it in the house. So I now cook it outside. Or… air-fry. Still. Outside. 😉 Funny ’cause I love the smell of bacon everywhere else. Just not all in day… in my house. 😉
2.) I watched a High School Marching band competition on Saturday and it was fun! My favorite band was performing songs from “West Side Story” and they were fantastic. They even had a “gang fight” and all! Very clever and entertaining!
3.) I caught bits and pieces of the movie Passengers (while getting ready to head out for supper) and I’m dying to watch it from start to finish. HOLY MOLY that movie is intense and the love story (and the crazy reveal) has my heart in knots!!! And the thought of it all… the dilemma. OMG.

Good morning! As much I hate turning the clocks back, at least it was light out when I got up this a.m.
Three things:
1 – We raked some leaves this weekend. It feels good to have started that chore even if we didn’t get all of them.
2 – Peppermint mocha is coming back at Dunkin’!!! Woot woot. I shot daggers out my eyeballs last year at the poor worker when I tried ordering one. “WHAT DO YOU MEAN YOU DONT HAVE PEPPERMINT MOCHA?”
3 – I bought some festive plug-ins and my house smells great. Balsam & Fir and Evergreen Mist from Yankee Candle and Twisted Peppermint and Chocolate Peppermint Cream from Bath & Body Works.
EVERY SMELL I LOVE!!! Good choices Leslie!!
I wanted to woot woot on the McRib being back at McDonalds (don’t judge me – I know most think they’re gross) but OMG I LOVE THEM!!!!
Though… I’m not able to partake since 1.) I don’t eat the bun, but even worse 2.) that sweet sauce coating the “meat” is too sweet for Keto-me. *sigh*
*stares at McRib longingly*
Oh my…those scents sound amazing together! And chocolate peppermint cream?! Sounds delicious, like the peppermint hot chocolate at Starbucks.
McRib…mmmmmmmmm…
Happy Monday. I am off all this week, thanks to NJ teacher convention week. Just sitting here planning my day and trying to decide what will be my “big project” this week. Deep clean the master bath or take apart the master closet, paint it, put down a fluffy rug and hang the chandelier I got off Craigslist. Think I’m going for the closet.
Now to drink my coffee and read for a little bit.
Ooooh I’m voting the closet!!!! 😀
Another vote for the closet! A fluffy rug and chandelier in your closet? Sounds beautiful!
Want a picture when you are done!
Good Morning!
1. I’m still recovering from my Parallel duet book hangover and struggling to get into something new! Kennedy Ryan’s The Kingmaker is my PFM challenge book so maybe I’ll start that next!
2. Speaking of PFM, I totally forgot about it! Sorry Ela! Just texted you my pick because I’m locked out of GR until noon!
3. It’s going to be pool weather today but I think I’m too exhausted from the weekend to enjoy it!
4. One more! The Browns have literally drained me of all feeling. If you know a Browns fan, be nice to them today! 😂
Pool weather!!! Here too… but I’m in no mood for it.
I’m envious…and missing pool weather here. It won’t be back for a longggg time now.
I used up a tank of propane to heat the pool for yesterday then hardly got in it! With the colder nights it takes more to heat than our little tank can handle because after that there wasn’t enough left to heat the hot tub. I need a hot tub cover for sure and probably a bigger tank if I want to use it year round!
Oh yikes!! It makes sense though…it’s cooling off more and takes more to heat it back up. Definitely invest in the hot tub cover…you know you’ll want to use it!
Robin, that book Parallel. I loved it too. Couldn’t put it down. Sooo good.
Same! I read it on a single sitting and only got up to eat and pee! I forced myself to take longer with book 2 because I was trying to wait for my buddy reader to catch up but then she decided to wait on the second one!
Good morning! Happy Monday!
It’s going to be a lovely 65 degrees here today, so I get to move my editing back outside!
I’m still on my anti-romance kick (not by choice, I assure you), so this week I’m going to be listening to Commonwealth by Ann Patchett, who lives just a hop, skip, and a jump away from me. I’ve heard about it for years and the library had it, so I’m giving it a shot. Then maybe I’ll get back to Perfect Strangers…
How far in did you get with Perfect Strangers?
1. I went to the grocery without the kids today. There was an elderly man behind me talking to the cashier, and me, about aging and retirement and how when I got to that age, I’d be wishing I was 40 again. And how fast it goes after and what not. (I’m thinking, is he implying I’m 40?, but they’re talking so much I forget about it) And then he says to have all the kids I can and enjoy being young and I said oh, I’m already there (w/the kids, ya know?) and the cashier says oh, do u have grandkids at home? My jaw drops, I look confused, I’m sure and she says by the wipes I bought, she’s wondering if I’ve got grandkids at home. OMG!!! I gasped and hand over heart said I’m only 31!! And the guy chuckles and says he’d have got slapped if he said it. I swear, I feel so self conscious today now. 🙁 I went to Starbucks and even asked the lady how old I looked. She said 26 and I don’t even know if I believe her.
2. I’m getting the Hallmark channel temporarily, through December and I’m excited. I’ve not seen any of these new movies or anything in years.
3. This week will again be so busy, I’ll likely get very little time for entertainment. *sigh*
Tasha you don’t look old AT ALL. Not even close. No worries about that my friend, but I get you. Me with my grey-hair worries, and when should I dye it, and looking at my cute baby-muppet face pictures from when I was in my twenties & thirties and wondering why I don’t have that same “look” even though I still “look the same”.
Oh Tasha…
*snorts*
*tries to look sympathetic*
*fails and snorts again*
I’ve been there, that’s why I’m laughing about it. Also, because based on your pic you don’t look old enough to be a grandma. People just don’t think before they speak. I hate when I buy alcohol where it is posted they will card anyone appearing to be under 45…and then I don’t get carded. WHAT?! I’m not 45 yet!
You do NOT look old enough to be a grandparent…geez! I can’t even believe people!
Well, thank u all. I feel marginally better. Lol.
I am still so hung up on the Parallel duet and am hoping The Beginning and End of Everything will help ease me back into wanting to read. Not that I don’t WANT to read, I just don’t think anything can come close to living up to Parallel and Intersect. I wanted an epic read, and I got what I asked for!!! 😀 Holy moly, that twist…that TWIST! *thunk*
MARYSE!! You need to read the Parallel duet ASAP!!!! Trust your twin here. 😉
Three things:
1. We saw Joker this weekend. I was expecting a background story for the comic book character but it was nothing like that, at least in my opinion. It was difficult to watch and has made me rethink how I interact with those who appear to be mentally ill. It was heart wrenching, uncomfortable, dark, and painful to watch at times…Joaquin Phoenix was fantastic. So many things he said will stay with me for a long time, mostly because they were gut punches, but when he wrote in his journal, “The worst part about having a mental illness is people expect you to behave as if you don’t”…oh, my heart. MY HEART. Then when there was the riot with all those people in clown masks, all I could think of was Badger and all of the “Badgers” in that scene…yes, THAT scene. I had a knot in my throat when we left and couldn’t even discuss anything about the movie with hubby.
2. It’s 45 degrees here, Halloween season is over, and I’m ready to break out the Fall scents!
3. I decided to try running with our dog today (hubby usually does it). An 80-pound, strong-willed German Shepherd with endless energy versus me, who hasn’t been as faithful with my running over the last year. I’m sure you guys can imagine how it went and how I am aching right about now. 😖
AMY!!! YAYYYY!! I do trust you and R… and I am on it this week!! 😀 I can’t wait!!!
And OH YES I WANNA see Joker SO bad… makes me very nervous.
What’s this about a Parallel duet you and R. are talking about? Need to look it up…
Read it Cheryl, so good
Yes I agree with Melinda! Read it!
That Parallel duet, is so damn good. I’m just starting book 2. But I’ve only just come up for air. I can’t put it down. The story, the characters everything is captivating. Love it.
Ok, just finishing The Dugout (which is sweet, funny and so enjoyable, but I’m a little afraid that some angst is coming up). Then it’s the Parallel duet!! 😉
Over the weekend, I read an ARC of Katy Regnery’s Nome-o Seeks Juliet. It’s the second one in the Odds-Are-Good series and I’ve enjoyed both of them. They are all standalone books with the common factor being that they are tied to personal/classified ads being placed by men from Alaska. This one had a little bit of the Vixen and the Vet feel to it (just a little). The titles and covers are light and fun but the books really do involve serious issues, have steamy scenes and sometimes heartbreaking decisions. I 5 starred this one and 4 1/2 starred Single in Sitka – which was the first one in the series.
Maryse, you have to finish Passengers. It was really good!
Oh!! I’ll watch it properly from start to finish tonight while I work on tomorrow’s new release list. 😀 YAY ME!!!!
I re-watched Passengers yesterday, and OMG I LOVED IT!!!!!! I’d give it 4.5 stars EASILY. Fantastic from start to finish. So much emotion, and the loneliness and then the exhilaration and all the scary moments, and the reveals. WOWOWOWOW!!!!
And that ending. <3
Hi Everyone!
I have been in a serious reading slump for awhile. BUUUT, I just finished a book that whipped that slump right away. I’m talking 5 stars! It’s called Becoming His Mistress by A E Murphy. I stayed up super late last night because I HAD to finished that book. It covered all the “feels” and then some. It was funny, sad, angsty, heartbreaking, did I say funny? When you find out what the little quotes mean at the beginning of every chapter your heart will just melt. You have to read this book!
Also Dannika Dark released Spellbound, book 8 in the Crossbreed series today! YAY!
