Happy Monday my friends!! 25 books just went LIVE early! This week is especially exciting cause I have SO much to look forward to. 😀 I’m doing the Thanksgiving Supper this year and I’m nervous, but I can’t wait to get started.
Three things:
1.) Since I’m in the “cooking spirit” I worked all weekend on this fun post (and I’m not even halfway done ’cause there are 20 pages of our comments involving recipes, so I’m still backtracking). WE SURE LOVE FOOD here. LOL!! Reader Recommendations – Our favorite foods, recipes, & cooking tools!
2.) I washed my carpets this morning (P.S. My Roomba continues to amaze me ’cause I “real-vacuumed” before washing the carpets and there was nary a pile of dust in my Dyson canister. And also… there’s nothing better than fresh, clean carpet pile under your feet. Other than… of course, clean sheets to tuck into at night. Which I’ve arranged for myself tonight, too!
3.) This one is two-part. I decided to do groceries early Saturday morning for Thanksgiving (and also my own regular groceries) My cart was so full, the Publix employees asked if I needed a second cart. I was super-worried I might not even be able to fit it all into my freezer & fridge but I DID!!! It was like playing Tetris. Or Jenga. LOL! AND I’ve decided I’m putting up the Christmas tree Tuesday or Wednesday night so that my Thanksgiving guests have a nice cozy holiday-feel to come home to. Twinkling lights, and shiny ornaments, and my happy mood ’cause I LOVE CHRISTMAS TREES (and Thanksgiving and i think I can mix both of ’em perfectly)!! 😀

1. Favorite dish on the holiday table? Mashed potatoes, but it is all good.
2. How do you eat your left overs? Alot of times I’d just pile it up in one bowl. My mom would sometimes make a pot of soup with everything, it was so good.

4. Ham gravy or Turkey gravy? Gravy is always good, but ham gravy, because it is something I have less often.
5. How about cranberry sauce? I love cranberries.
6. If it was snowing right now, would you take a walk with me? I always take a walk in the snow. Especially the first snowfall.

YAY!!!! bev is back with her fun questionnaires!!!
I’ll play!! 😀
20 questions:
1. Favorite dish on the holiday table? Back when I could eat carbs, macaroni and cheese casserole, or stuffing (that I’d load up/mix into it —> turkey meat, and the super-soft veggies that cooked around the turkey) and then coat it all with gravy.
2. How do you eat your left overs? Every single day, breakfast, lunch and dinner because I can’t get enough – exactly as my Thanksgiving dinner was. All separated out on a plate… and I gorge.
3. Stuffing or dressing? Stovetop. So I guess that’s dressing?
4. Ham gravy or Turkey gravy? Turkey gravy. I’ve never had Ham gravy and now I’m intrigued.
5. How about cranberry sauce? YES PLEASE!!!! Canned or fresh… all is okay with me. Er… except now ’cause Keto. I may take a Keto break that day.
6. If it was snowing right now, would you take a walk with me? Yes I would. And we would delight in the snowflakes. 😀

9. What music is playing in the coffee house? Diana Krall’s jazzy Christmas Album. Or Mariah Carey’s.
10. Do we get a pastry? Chocolate croissant or muffin? I’d get a blueberry muffin. I miss those.
11. Oh, your hair looks nice today. What did you use? Fructis hairspray “Sleek & Shine” Thank you for noticing. It’s anti-frizz. Not bad, huh? 😉
12. Can I ask you a question? Be honest? Are you really (I mean really really) going to watch My Ahjussi? YEP!!! I can’t wait!!!! You better not abandon me.
13. Uh-oh. I gotta go. I’ll be late to work. What kind of good day are we wishing for each other? I’m wishing you a day of smiles, no stress, and things to look forward to, tonight. Like putting up the Christmas tree?
*rubs hands in anticipation and glee*
Ha! You better not abandon me.

Sweet potato casserole with praline topping
2. How do you eat your left overs?
For every meal until they’re gone!

Turkey gravy. I’m weird and can’t mix meat flavors.

13. Uh-oh. I gotta go. I’ll be late to work. What kind of good day are we wishing for each other?
I’m wishing you a beautiful day full of laughter and things which make you happy…just as YOU make ME happy ❤️
It’s finally Thanksgiving week! 😀
Three things:
1. I started getting decorations ready (they will NOT go up until December 1…I want to fully experience Fall while it lasts ;)), and I plugged in some wallflowers from Bath and Body Works which smell great and together are AMAZING. One is Crushed Candy Cane and the other is The Perfect Christmas. Even though the deco isn’t going up yet, it doesn’t mean the house can’t smell Christmas-y!
2. I spent $450 at the commissary yesterday. 😳 <——— me when I saw my total
3. I love having a big dog, but I am jealous of those of you with little dogs when it comes to picking up after them. We go to the dog park, and other people are picking up little tootsie roll poops while I’m stuck picking up steaming bratwursts.
I have to ask… was that $450 1 cart or 2? I grew up a military brat and miss the commissary so much. It was always 2 carts for us on grocery day and you never left there without a big bill.
Lol, I read that as the cafeteria and I was super impressed thinking she must of bought everyone lunch. 🤣
Oh no, bev…all those cafeteria people are on their own. *snort*
All in one cart, Erin…I can stack groceries in a cart like no one’s business, LOL!
Ahhhhh yes!!! Exactly how I feel about my tinies. Poops are not too gross or smelly and pees are not lakes.
Also, mine shed, but barely compared to a Malinois and a German Shepherd I know. Oooooof!!!!
But those big dogs sure make me feel safe. And they’re goofballs too.
Also… I’m pretending my receipt didn’t happen.
*snort* HOLY. MOLY.
I think my next dog I might get a Mastiff or a Mastiff mix. Or a Newfoundland or Newfoundland mix.Won’t be for a while because my dog now isn’t one to have a roommate.
I just have always wanted one and for as big as they are they are supposed to be very gentle and calm.
Yes, yes, and yes…my shepherd sheds SO much, is extremely protective of us and our (HER) home, and she is as goofy as a puppy. Love that girl.
Mastiffs and Newfoundlands are beautiful. And HUGE, especially Newfoundlands.
I was looking at a Newfiepoo for a minute. But, I’m in super love with mini Bernedoodles. Everything from the size to the temperament, personality and shedding sounds like a dream. Still won’t happen for a looooong time, but I’ve considered every breed I can think of and it’s just the one. Except for the price. I’ll be saving for a loooong time as well.
😂😂😂 tootsie roll and bratwurst piles!
Reminds me of a story I watched on Kristen Bell cleaning up skittle turds her dog kept leaving behind the washer and dryer. Too funny! Glad it’s not me. *chuckles*
Except when the little dog has piles of diarrhea that would make a big dog feel insecure.. on all your area rugs. I’ve be busy cleaning my carpets too, multiple times.
ew! Yes… I came home to that once. Fun times.
Three things:
1. We had a doozy of a football party yesterday and I’m afraid I’m not Monday-ing very well because of it.
2. I’m in a major book slump thanks to Someday, Someday. I can’t even get back into my Gabriel’s Inferno reread that I was obsessed with two short weeks ago!
3. Having Thanksgiving catered was the best decision I’ve ever made. I have nothing to do this week but try to read! And write of course.
20 questions:
1. Favorite dish on the holiday table? When I was a kid it was a squash dish called cushaw which I thought was dessert for most of my childhood. The recipe never made it to me though and I have no idea where to even find cushaw so I don’t get it anymore. 😪 ETA: my current favorite is the Wicked Autumn Sangria Cheryl (I think it was) posted on here a couple years ago. After that, it doesn’t matter what’s on the table.
2. How do you eat your left overs? I make turkey, butter, and black pepper sandwiches, but after reading Jeannine Colette’s True Abandon I also have to eat it with strawberry jam. I don’t know if she just made that little combo up or if it’s something she does, but it’s yummy!
3. Stuffing or dressing? dressing with scratch cornbread
4. Ham gravy or Turkey gravy? turkey
5. How about cranberry sauce? I can take it or leave it.
6. If it was snowing right now, would you take a walk with me? of course!
7. What hot drink are we grabbing at the coffee house? hot chocolate with whipped cream
8. Are you a scarf, mittens, hat person? scarf for sure, hat if I’m freezing, and too claustrophobic for mittens
9. What music is playing in the coffee house? Lifehouse!
10. Do we get a pastry? Chocolate croissant or muffin? chocolate always wins!
11. Oh, your hair looks nice today. What did you use? a shower
12. Can I ask you a question? Be honest? Are you really (I mean really really) going to watch My Ahjussi? I plead the fifth.
13. Uh-oh. I gotta go. I’ll be late to work. What kind of good day are we wishing for each other? a glorious one full of books!
It is such a good story. So beautifully done and just satisfying, but I know that tv is not your choice for entertainment.
It’s still a struggle. Movies too. It has to be something I’m dying to see.
R. that drink is yummy. I *might* like this one I just made better.
https://distillerista.com/bourbon-cocktail-recipe/
Yumm!! I’m obsessed with bourbon right now too!
Me too. We just got some yummy bourbon from a local distillery.
This is another great bourbon drink.
https://brooklynsupper.com/bourbon-sidecar-cocktails-exciting-news/
That looks fab!! I have to learn how to do the lemon strips! I want to make traditional vodka martinis too and have not been successful! I think I’m using the wrong tool.
I didn’t think I’d like bourbon but my character drinks it so I had to. Turns out I love it more than cognac! I usually drink it straight with just a few drops of water.
I was surprised that I love Bourbon too. We just got a Maple syrup one from the distillery. It is so smooth.
20 questions:
1. Favorite dish on the holiday table? Oodles of noodles. Any variety. Mac, butter, chicken and, turkey and… 😉
2. How do you eat your left overs? Warm? Lol. I don’t make anything special out of them, just head them up and eat them again.
3. Stuffing or dressing? Stove top, not too wet. 🤢 I could go without, honestly
4. Ham gravy or Turkey gravy? Turkey. I only really like it when the meat is dry. I could do without gravy as well.
5. How about cranberry sauce? Yuck. I don’t think I’ve ever even tried it, but it looks and sounds yuck.
6. If it was snowing right now, would you take a walk with me? If it was a calm, not too cold snow, for sure. I love the stillness and quit peacefulness of it.
7. What hot drink are we grabbing at the coffee house? I’m currently craving cinnamon tea. But usually a simple vanilla latte.
8. Are you a scarf, mittens, hat person? Just hat and fingerless gloves
9. What music is playing in the coffee house? I don’t recognize artists, usually. So, something that you don’t hear overplayed on the radio day to day. Some new holiday music..
10. Do we get a pastry? Chocolate croissant or muffin? Chocolate croissant or a yummy scone.
11. Oh, your hair looks nice today. What did you use? Davines volume boosting mousse and dry texturizing spray
12. Can I ask you a question? Be honest? Are you really (I mean really really) going to watch My Ahjussi? No, sorry 🙁
13. Uh-oh. I gotta go. I’ll be late to work. What kind of good day are we wishing for each other? The all consuming, wrapped in a cozy blanket sipping drink of choice, no distraction, best book ever, reading kind of day
The perfect day!!!
1. I went to the store today to do all my regular and Thanksgiving shopping. I didn’t get too much, I think. I may get an additional crockpot. The store and traffic was nuts though. I think everyone’s got the same idea.
2. We got a kitten yesterday. The transition *knock on wood* has been easier and besides the 5 excitable children all day, it’s going great. Except he’s scratching my furniture for fun and climbing things. Super high things. I haven’t had a cat in a decade.
3. Thanksgiving break begins now for 1 and Wednesday for another. Save me????
1. Favorite dish on the holiday table?
Sweet potato casserole
2. How do you eat your left overs?
Cold turkey sandwich with sides heated
3. Stuffing or dressing?
Homemade dressing
4. Ham gravy or Turkey gravy?
Turkey
5. How about cranberry sauce?
Um, no WHY?
6. If it was snowing right now, would you take a walk with me?
YES!
7. What hot drink are we grabbing at the coffee house?
Blonde flat white with almond milk
8. Are you a scarf, mittens, hat person?
Yes
9. What music is playing in the coffee house?
Christmas
10. Do we get a pastry? Chocolate croissant or muffin?
Maybe
11. Oh, your hair looks nice today. What did you use?
I use Olaplex #3 too. Usually use it once a week and leave it on for a few hours before washing and conditioning. Also like Keracolor platinum to keep my blonde color from getting too brassy.
12. Can I ask you a question? Be honest? Are you really (I mean really really) going to watch My Ahjussi?
Honestly, no. Sorry.
13. Uh-oh. I gotta go. I’ll be late to work. What kind of good day are we wishing for each other? Extraordinary.
It’s fun reading everyone’s answers, but it’s the end of the day here and I’m too tired to answer all them myself. There was a thunderstorm in the middle of the night last night, and once I woke up I couldn’t go back to sleep, so now I’m kinda slumping…….. I’ll just do three things instead.
1. I had a good day at work today 😀
2. My hubs is cooking dinner tonight (he’s a treasure) and we’re having some interesting sounding fajita bowl type of thing. Whatever he’s cooking right now smells darned good, anyway.
3. A surprise pre-order rolled into my kindle today. I’d totally forgotten I’d preordered it LOL. But it’s a happy surprise. It’s Forever and a Duke by Grace Burrowes. (new HR). I like her books. I might start it tonight, if I can keep my eyes open.
4. OK, I’ll do four things. Hubs and I have been sucked into watching the Jack Ryan series on Amazon prime video. It’s REALLY GOOD!! Gripping!! :-0
Gotta go and set the table for dinner now……….
Oh my boyfriend just told me the same thing. He loved it!!
