HAPPY MONDAY AND HAPPY EARLY BIRD RELEASE DAY!! Sorry I’m so late, and absolutely NOT an early bird, but I just went on a couch cleaning and floor cleaning spree and it took a whole lot longer than I anticipated. That said, SO WORTH IT!! 🙂
Three things:
1.) I took advantage of Bath and Body works HUGE CANDLE DAY sale. I LOVE candles, and I have one going weekly. Makes the house smell so nice and has that warm glow. So I got a bunch of Christmas smelling ones – Sugared Pine Needles and The Perfect Christmas <— my absolute favorite), and sweet ones (like Fig & Brown Sugar or Blueberry sugar) fruity ones, and a few summer each smells too (like sunny coconut which supposedly is amazing). So each season has the perfect scents to go along with them. I can’t wait to get them!!
2.) Having dogs is fantastic!! They are the loves of my life, each and every one of them from my past and today, I couldn’t live without. My delight, and my whole heart. But HOLY MOLY are they messy!!!! Fur, sand, muddy paws, and my poor couch. My poor, once beautiful, once super comfortable, light grey couch. *sigh* And there’s no reason to replace it especially with my huge Great Dane that will totally destroy any couch we get. So… I bought couch covers that are easy to wash and look… nice. Nice enough, anyway. At least I can clean them a whole lot easier than pulling off all the cushion covers over and over again and then putting each one back on (which is its own huge struggle). So the covers should do the trick. Easy to clean, easy to replace if needed. Nice clean couch to lounge in. Dogs and all. I SHOULD have gotten the XXL ones (I got XL) but they’ll do.
3.) I’m halfway through “Remain” by Nicholas Sparks and M. Night Shyamalan and I’m absolutely loving it and have NO idea how it will end. Such a cozy, slow burn romance read, but a touch scary too!!!

A Merry Match: A spicy, secret identity holiday romance by Hailey Rodger <— SMALL TOWN FIREFIGHTER ROMANCE! HE GHOSTED HER!! “...It was supposed to be a good time, not a ghost story. No names or strings attached, just late-night voice notes and flirty messages in a matchmaking app with a man who called himself Fireboy. He made me laugh, made me blush, and somewhere between the teasing and the heat, he made me start to believe again. Then he ghosted me. So when my sister drags me to her in-laws’ snow-covered house outside Toronto for Christmas, I tell myself I’m over it. Ready to focus on hot cocoa, family chaos, and absolutely no mysterious firefighters. Except one of them shows up to visit the retired chief, and the second he opens his mouth, I know that voice...”
The House of Malachite (Island of Rubia Book 1) by Rachel Blaufeld <— FANTASY ROMANCE!! On the magical island of Rubia, it was her gift…and her curse. Bound to her mother’s will, Tulya was never meant for happiness—only service. Donovan Malachite was the opposite: he could inflict pain without lifting a finger. One look could send a zing up anyone’s spine. Feared and revered as a ruthless businessman, Donovan was groomed to inherit his father’s empire and carry out his mother’s calculated plans. He’d never admit his quiet fascination with his innocent neighbor, Tulya. When We Fall (Star Harbor Book 2) by Lena Hendrix <— SMALL TOWN SHE NEEDS A NANNY & HE SHOWS UP… “...I need a nanny. Not a distraction. I certainly do not need a twentysomething man with a devastating smile, tattooed forearms, and an easy charm that could unravel a woman twice as composed as me. But when my daughter gets kicked out of after-school care (again) and my flaky nanny ghosts us (again), Austin Calloway moves into the duplex next door—and right into our lives. Now he’s helping with homework, cooking dinner shirtless, and showing up with coffee like he’s always belonged here. He’s too young. Too familiar. Too good with my daughter. Too close...”

Secret Kisses: A Fake-Relationship Romance (The Sterling Brothers Book 3) by Layla Hagen <— HE NEEDS A FAKE GIRLFRIEND “...when my womanizer rep costs me a major business deal, I’ve got a problem. One of my brothers suggests a fake girlfriend. Ridiculous. Then I spot the perfect opportunity. At a bar, I overhear a stunning blonde getting utterly humiliated by her ex—who casually informs her he dumped her to marry someone else. What an idiot. She looks like she needs rescuing. So I sit at their table and kiss her like I’ve done it a million times. After the jerk bails, I make her a deal: be my fake date for one business dinner. Phoebe agrees. It should’ve been simple...”

He’s also her co-host. Her complication. And, unfortunately, the one person who sees through the shine. They clash off-camera. They combust on it. One forbidden moment sparks a pull I can’t deny—and shouldn’t want. He’s everything I was taught to fear, and the only person who makes me feel alive.
