HAPPY MONDAY EVERYONE!! These just went LIVE today and.. LOOKIT WHAT’S GOING LIVE TOMORROW!!!! The Wrong Family by Tarryn Fisher <— I read it and loved it!!! In fact, here’s my review.
Three things:
1.) I got a dehydrator for Christmas so guess what I’ve been doing? 😉
2.) It froze big time ALL weekend (well, “big time” for Florida…) and my big beautiful Christmas Palm tree is NOT happy. I mean, it just keeps looking worse after each freeze and it’s only December. Though December has been significantly cold this year (where it usually isn’t). I pray my beloved palm makes it through this year, grows me new beautiful green palms fronds once spring comes back, and adjusts to next year’s “Florida” winter a little better. *fingers crossed*
3.) I didn’t go overboard on carbs this weekend, but then again, I was certainly not strict Keto (mashed potatoes are my downfall). Back on the wagon as of today.

1. Just when I think one good thing will come out of 2020, my team gets smacked over the head with covid. I am so done with this year!
2. We’re going to try out Home Chef for a few months to hopefully (and mindlessly) get back on track with healthy eating in the new year. Our first box comes Wednesday and I’m so excited!
3. I just finished The Great Alone and Forever Wild and both were so good I don’t think I want to take the chance with another book until next year so I can go out with a reading bang! That will probably change in the next few days though!
I LOVED The Great Alone!!!! And of course I need to read the rest of K.A. Tucker’s “wilds” LOVED that first one.
That is a bummer about your palm Maryse! I used to grow herbs and would lose them every year. Now we wrap our patio in clear tarp over the winter so we can use it year round and it works like a greenhouse. We’re actually on year 3 with some summer flowers that weren’t supposed to make it past their first winter.
Yeah I’m super bummed. It has been crazy cold for our area of Florida, and while sometimes it freezes here, it will only freeze for an hour or 2, and this weekend it froze for like 8 hours in a row and in the 20s!!!
My poor tree. I knew I was taking a chance but so many around me have palms (just not THAT one, come to think of it). Not cold hardy.
Can’t believe it’s Monday!
1. I got a new cell phone for Christmas from my family. They tell me it’s an iPhone (?) and not an android and that’s a good thing. It seems to do a lot of fancy things.
2. I spilled some coffee on the sisal living room yesterday. Advice on clean-up? 🙁
3. I ate all my chocolate and Poppycock in my Christmas stocking. 🙄
1. I got sucked into Bridgertonlast night and watched 5 episodes. Might as well finish tonight. I knew this would happen!
2. Tomorrow is the big vet day for my dog. Ready to get some clear answers! Not ready to get up at dawn.
3. January BOTM are live. I’ve added The Survivors by Jane Harper to my box and The Removed by Brandon Hobson and The Heiress Gets a Duke by Harper St. George cuz I’m riding a Bridgerton high. But, I’d not heard of any of these and more intrigue me so I’ve not clicked ship yet. Like, The Dating Plan by Sara Desai or The Prophets by Robert Jones, Jr. Outlawed by Anna North sounded kinda good too, but the ratings didn’t sell me.
Wow! that’s a lotta books! happy reading!
Only 3! I was listing the others that sounded good to me too. Although 3 is a lot also. Lol. My stack of unread is always bigger than my stack of read. But since I’m a mood reader, the different genres really help.
I’ve been into more paperbacks lately too. It’s been a long time since I’ve read on kindle. So much easier to share that way. Though I’ve only shared with my Aunt thus far.
Good luck with the vet tomorrow. Hugs!!
Thank you! He’s bathed and ready to go. Will update with the findings!
I think I’m going to watch The Bridgerton’s tonight. I need to get involved in a good series again.
I loved the chemistry between the mcs. Snorted and laughed a bunch too. Not bc it was hilarious, just some of the situations that made me lol. Some of the scenes where they slow it down and do the camera spinny thing make me swoon. Feels a little like a scene in titanic somehow.
I hope your sweet doggie will be okay. ❤️
1. Bought a pretty book journal off of etsy.
2. Let’s see if at the end of the year I actually have a best of list.
3. But I do have one rec. The House in The Cerulean Sea. It was just a delight. Sweet and warm and a child named Lucy who maybe….ok probably is….the antichrist. He is very dramatic about it all.
1. I’ve watched half of the Bridgerton series on netflix and it’s lovely. Beautiful escapist enjoyment, with a bit of Mean Girls thrown in for some spice. Gonna watch another ep later today.
2. Had a lovely family Christmas with most of my family including my three little grandsons, Logan, Hugo and Arthur. Being a grandma is the best thing ever.
3. We had Christmas dinner in my backyard under our shady arbour of grape vines. Beautiful. Most years it’s just too darn hot to eat outside at Christmas, but this December has been unusually mild.
Hope your doggie goes well at the vet, Tasha xx
I got a dehydrator also. My grandmother recommended the following three books. The Beginner’s Guide to Dehydrating Food by Teresa Marrone, The Dehydration Bible by Jennifer MacKenzie and the The Ultimate Dehydrator Cookbook by Tammy Gangloft. I’m dehydrating mushrooms right now that I got for very cheap at the store today. I want to try to make a healthy cream of mushroom soup with them.
