THREE THINGS:
1.) I bought some plants for my landscaping, but there was nothing tropical available yet where I went (I was hoping for some birds of paradise or more banana plants). Maybe next weekend!
3.) I’ve been working out daily (bodyweight resistance for now) every day for the last 2 weeks, and the first few days I could barely even sit without making a ton of pained noises. 😂 Peeing was noisy from all the grunting and holding on I had to do just to…. you know. Sit. LOL! Sorry… TMI. 😉 This week the pain has subsided considerably (though I still feel my muscles ache a bit but nowhere near like the first few days) so I bought myself resistance bands, and dumbbells and ankle weights (<— Awwww jammit! I should have waited for today ’cause these are Prime Day deals!!!), so hopefully that will kick it up a notch again.

If I’m away somewhere, having my kindle with me gives me my whole library of books and I can pick and choose and don’t have to drag a pile of books with me in my suitcase. I take my kindle with me almost everywhere 😀 You never know when you’ll have a few minutes downtime and can get in a quick read.

I WANT A WEIGHTED BLANKET!! So that’s my search for today, and I found a bunch. But I’m liking the idea of THIS one (Handmade Chunky Knit Weighted Blanket 15 Pounds, 100% Cotton No Fillers, Breathable, Soft & Calming, All-Season Evenly Weighted Throw (Gray)) which is heavy but not your “traditional” weighted blanket with beads in it. Comes in blue & in grey. LOVE THIS! My issue? My 2 tiny dogs (minpins) sleep under the blankets with me, and I worry about how a typical weighted blanket would affect them. Anyone have experience with this? So I’m thinking this might be better? P.S. Here are all the weighted blankets (bead-filled ones and everything) that I found right now.

ROBOTIC VACUUM DEALS! Most of you were with me when I bought my first (and still use) Roomba 614 (back in 2017 – on a Black Friday deal at Best Buy online for $225). It’s the most basic one, with no app, no programming, no… anything but pure and easy goodness. Though now it’s 4 years old, still works fine (have changed nothing in it whatsoever not even the battery and she charges every day all day long), but wonder if all of that extra suction and all the bells and whistles via app and Alexa programming might be even better? This is the only tool I’m truly tempted to upgrade. Oh that and my air fryer but I really only need a new pull out main basket drawer thingie for it. *searches Prime deals on replacement basket thingies*

I absolutely CANNOT wait for the new Jana Aston!!!! She’s one of my favorites. She’s snarky and funny and I’ve reread all her books while waiting for this new one. It’s a standalone but I was just in the mood for that kind of book.
1. I did it. I made cicada tacos. Now, these are the most basic tacos ever bc it was just for my boy to eat and he likes his tacos a certain way. That’s why there’s no salsa or anything fancier. Just some butter, olive oil and a little of my reg. taco seasoning. J was all for it too until he saw me scooping them onto the taco and he backtracked real quick. 😂🤣 “I don’t want that taco, a different taco.” My middle though, dug right in. He didn’t hesitate at all. He wanted me to fold it like a burrito so they weren’t looking at him, but gosh I couldn’t believe his bravery. He ate half. My hubs swooped in to steal a bite too before he could think about it too long. Hubs said he’d not eat them again, but didn’t taste like much of anything really. The middle said he didn’t like that they were so crunchy and he’d try again if they were softer, but didn’t really have a different taste either. https://pin.it/2k0769v
2. I, on the other hand, didn’t really have a problem looking at them online. I don’t do bugs, at all. I watched them catch them and didn’t participate in that part. So when it came time to cook them, I panicked. I panicked the entire way through and I thought I could handle it, but nope. So after the first few bites I went outside to stop the nausea and collect myself. Ruined my dinner. Brats, wrapped in a bun. I couldn’t stop thinking about them. I honestly screamed when one popped out the end as I was tucking corners. 🤢
3. It was an experience I hope he remembers well. I wouldn’t cook them again. I would purchase them somewhere for him to try. Er, well, I’d send my hubs to. I’m still queasy.
I am in awe of you right now and possibly have a permanent grimace happening. This has been wonderful for my diet, so thanks for that. 😆😣🤢

Apparently I’m mostly England and Nortwestern Europe, then Ireland then Scotland, then Norway, and lastly Sweden. For the breakdown of my ethnicity.
We’re quite similar bev, except I’m mostly Scottish, then English, then Germany and Sweden. But same parts of the world. 100% northern Europe and Scandinavia.
I don’t know the identity of my grandmother’s father (my grandma was a ‘surprise’ baby when her mum was 16) and I was wondering whether dna would reveal some big surprise. But no. Just more of the same LOL.
Maybe the Scottish blood explains why I like reading HRs about men in kilts 😀
Yeah, not too much of a surprise for me either. Maybe would of flipped the order, but definitely the areas I’d expected. That would be funny if our love of HRs was written in our DNA.

3. My husband cut my hair in a pixie cut. It took him 3 hours as he snipped a bit at a time, watching a video. I had gone past the freak stage into total zen. Lots of hair on the floor. It looks amazing…better than some of my salon cuts. Feel prettier.

7 hours and 1 hour to go on our drive home from vacation. Glad to get back to my dogs and crazy cat but would have loved one more week! Been spending the time on Prime Day. Bought myself a belated to me birthday gift of a new 10 Kindle Fire. Mine isn’t staying charged for a day. And then ended up buying dorm staples for my son going away to college (sheets, mattress pad, lamp, shower caddy, etc! Still need to get a comforter for the duvet. But I’m shopped out!

So far I’ve bought 2 USB charging bedside lamps, house shoes, a wooden trunk for Alice’s toys, cuticle oil, and 3 nonstick skillets. And only 2 of these things are prime deals! Oh and I’m contemplating a headboard that is a prime deal, but do I really need it right now? Ugh! 😂

We had a really tall 4 poster bed that I’ve always hated because I literally had to have a running start to get onto it, so we recently bought a plain normal sized $100 bed frame, but since the hubs is anti-extra pillows, it desperately needs a headboard. And it has to be fabric because he has about 5 million sleep disorders and tends to smack it in the middle of the night.
