Another Happy Monday is here and a few new early birds to peruse and I hope everyone had a wonderful Father’s Day weekend. I had a very peaceful one. 😀
THREE THINGS:
1.) It’s been raining daily (and I mean pouring rain) for at least 2 weeks now. I love the rain, and my outside “patio garden” is getting so big and bushy, and everything is so green, though some of my stuff is not happy at all. My thyme totally crashed. One of my basil plants did too. Two of my tomato plants aren’t too thrilled either.
2.) That said, two of my other basil plants keep growing obnoxiously, and I keep trimming it, using some, rerooting other pieces and planting them. I have an abundance of basil and I LOVE it!!! Need to make pesto next. 😀 Pesto on zoodles, or shirataki noodles <— P.S. Keto friends, these are my absolute favorite – and I have tried them ALL. I can’t detect any smell or flavors like with the other ones. I don’t even have to do the whole boil-then-fry thing. I can just pop them right in the microwave and they’re wonderful!!
3.) If you missed it last night, my latest review is up (Carry the World) and I 4.5 star loved it! I don’t know what I want to read next. Either Aly Martinez’s latest duet or Jewel E. Ann’s latest release, Jersey Six (it sounds crazy and I LOVE that!! And quite a few in our book crew are LOVING it) or start the Parallel duet (oh I think that one’s gonna hurt)!
Cheryl: Just finished Jersey Six. 5 stars!! It was a rollercoaster of an emotional read. Your heart just breaks for Jersey. I was on edge wondering how this was going to end. I did figure one thing out correctly but was surprised by something else. Just when you think it’s going to be ok, nope, real life continued to happen and the angst just kept coming. Perfect ending; does not leave you wanting more. Definitely a book you need chocolate and tissues for. If you have triggers it may not be the book for you.

Morning!! 🙂
I need someone to pick a book they think I would like and do a BR with me. Any takers??? It can be angsty but not super depressing (no death/terminal illness stuff) and it has to be CR and on KU. *giggles* Shouldnt be too hard huh? *snort*
Maryse, hubs & son think your bird poop corn is hilarious!! Can you post some pics of it?? I bet its growing like crazy.
Absolutely!! In fact, a neighbor and her dog were walking by my house and she called out to me… “Do you know you have corn growing?”
I laughed and told her I didn’t have the heart to pull it and explained the bird poop theory and she said everyone is getting a kick out of it. *snort*
It couldn’t even grow hidden or only in my view. Nope. It has to grow FACING the street in the most viewed part of my front yard. 😉
We were talking about it yesterday and hubs def thinks bird but perhaps in a more sanitary way…like corn fell out of beak. Anyway…post pics when you can so I can show them.
😂
What are your thoughts on Jersey Six? I haven’t read any reviews on it so I don’t know if it’s “Leslie-approved” or not… If it is, I would BR it with you…
Michele, I dont know any spoilers for Jersey Six but in reading reviews it sounded like it was heavy and depressing.
Yeah, I’m seeing that too. I’ll keep looking for some other options…
Leslie–I’m editing right now, but I’ll be happy to BR with you in a couple of weeks.
Nay, when you are ready, pick any KU book and I will BR with you. 😘
Thanks so much for sharing Dirty Irish! And about your bird poop. Both equally important.
*snort* OMG I just sputtered my Bubly all over the place!!! 😛
I wouldn’t say Jersey is depressing, but it does deal with some heavy subject matter. I decided to read Hammered; needed something funny.
Four more days until school is out and then I’m free for the summer!!!! Well, most of it. I do have to work 2 weeks.
Yay Cheryl! But I bet it goes by fast.
Spring in Oregon is beautiful but the allergies are not. In the middle of listening to the of Son’s of Blackbird Mountain by Joanne Bischof. Wonderfully written and it carries you back to the days of hard work and a much more simple life a historical novel and the challenges it brings. An Irish widow finds herself in the Appalachian mountains with three unruly men two of whom fall deeply for her causing a rift which deepens and shatters her dream of being part of a tight knit family.
I was looking at Letters to Molly’s first book. The Birthday List by Deveny Perry. Any feedback?
