The book was about a supernatural girl living at an all girl’s school after all her parents and brother were killed.
She had an uncle who had control of her estate, but she felt that he would eventually kill her for her money if she went home. She was planning on going to college far away to stay out of his sight, when supernatural being showed up at her school just before she was to graduate and leave.
She had the power to take away a supernatural beings ability to shift and the council was trying to find a way to use her to punish supernatural beings.
One of the beings who picked her up from school used to be her friend when she was a kids. But stopped being friends with her when her power was discovered when she was a child.
That’s all I remember.
