Reader Question – The book about the girl that was stabbed by her brother, and the hero that takes her to his place to recover…

Here’s the second book Danielle is looking for (here was her first book question). In this one she goes into great detail (along with spoilers, and “end of the book” spoilers), so I’ll spoiler alert before we get there. 😉 Again, she reminds us that it’s been at least five years since she’s read this book, although this one “says” something to me, as if I’ve had this reader question before.

She says:

For the second book I have a little more.. the heroine has been stabbed or cut by her brother (maybe he’s her twin) but he’s mentally ill so she doesn’t want to go to the cops.

Anywho, the hero finds her and takes her to his place to recover (I think he might have a sister who helps out with taking care of her, but I’m not sure) the hero is kind of a player and has a kinky room set up and the heroine while recovering sees woman leaving pretty often (I think all different woman, but again not sure).

Eventually she recovers and moves out to a tiny apartment and I think gets a job at a coffee shop or diner very close to her new place and she’s trying to find her brother to get him help. The hero and heroine are friends and attracted to each other but their romance doesn’t really kick off right away (I think he may paint or possibly help furnish her new place though).

Eventually they do get together (but he doesn’t take her to his play room, may even get rid of it?) but eventually she/they find her brother in a hospital or mental facility but I think he gets the flu or pneumonia, or something and dies (although that may be before the hero and heroine are together, I can’t really remember)..

But that’s about all I can remember other than that I enjoyed both books but it’s been at least five years since I’ve read either one, probably longer though.. but if anyone could help me i’d be seriously grateful, because i’d really like to read them again.. thanks soo very much 🙂

Danielle: found the second book, it’s actually two books by Sandi Lynn, Lie Next To Me (A Millionaire’s Love) and When I Lie With You (A Millionaire’s Love, 2).. unfortunately I can only find them on amazon and don’t have the extra money for books at the moment so i’m going to have to wait a while to get ’em since they aren’t part of kindle unlimited any more.. but at least I found one.. now I just need to come across the other
