Ashley: Could it be Love in Lingerie by Alessandra Torre??? I really enjoyed that book! And I know that this is not it, but I was reminded of Owning Violet: A Novel by Monica Murphy when I read the description and I thought to myself, ‘I need to reread those books!’.
Pearlita: I think this one is The Hard Sell by Lulu Wright. Read it a while back and enjoyed it.
