Reader Question – The book about the girl who stays at a manor where her dad died, and the Hero that was cursed to turn into a wolf…

Ruth needs our book help! Oh this one has all sorts of detail and and mysteries both about the Hero and his affliction, but about her father and his death, and the book he wrote…

She asks:

Hi Maryse,

Hope this meets you well.

Could you please help me find this book? I can’t remember the name or author of the book but I’m really really hoping you know about the book.

The heroine’s father was murdered while she was away. She then goes to visit the last person known to have visited her father before his death to get clues about what happened only to be told that he died in a fire in one of the wings of the house which has been sealed off.

She suspects something is wrong and decides to stay on at the manor while pretending to court the hero’s younger brother.

On her first night, she is warned to leave the manor by someone who hides his face and claims to be a ghost.

Other bits I can remember:

* The hero was cursed by someone he calls the white witch to turn to a wolf on certain nights
* The hero has a scar on his face where he scratched himself during his first transformation
* The hero does not remember what happens whenever he transforms to a wolf but every morning after his transformation, a lady is usually found dead with claw marks on her
* There are secret passages in the manor which the hero uses to spy on his household
* The heroine’s father wrote a book about an island with treasures in it
* The heroine’s father gave the hero his diaries and some landscape paintings which contains clues to the treasure’s location
* The heroine’s father was murdered because of the book (The murderer was looking for the map to the treasure)
* There are other young women who have visited the manor to court the hero’s younger brother and they all disappeared mysteriously
