in Reader Questions

I received a bunch of new reader questions asking for us to help them find the book title, and this is one sounds interesting! What a bad boy!! ;)

Misty asks:

“I read a synopsis awhile back- she is a waitress and the gentleman is hitting on her. He’s at the restaurant with his date, she leave to go to the restroom. He tells the waitress that he wants her and she asks him to leave with her now while the date is gone if he is serious. This is all I can remember. Hopefully you can help. Thanks, Misty”

Here are a few reader suggestions, but nothing concrete, yet:

  • Collide (Volume 1) by Gail McHugh <— so good and I can remember similar-ish scenes in this book.
  • Beautifully Damaged by L.A. Fiore
  • Table for Two by Alexis Lauren <—- er… I dunno where the Kindle version of this went and ummm… that price. Ack! I think I purchased this one awhile back at a more reasonable price ;) .

Sounds kinda like the beginning of collide to me

I know I was thinking the same thing… but I can’t remember if she insisted he had to leave with her right then, or not.

I do remember him showing up with a date at the bar…

I think later he did insist. I really need to do a reread of that book since it was so amazeballs and maybe I’ll have a more definitive answer then.

I really don’t think it’s Collide. Not sure what book.

Neika May 6, 2013 at 2:26 PM

There is a part of Beautifully Damaged that’s quite similar

Ida May 6, 2013 at 2:33 PM

It’s not Collide. He shows up at the bar alone.

Didi May 6, 2013 at 2:52 PM

What about Table for Two by Alexis Lauren?

Jean May 6, 2013 at 3:21 PM

Just read Collide this weekend. That’s not it!

Jaime May 6, 2013 at 3:51 PM

I don’t know which book it is for sure either. Not Collide though because he shows up alone (just reread it last week!). I read Beautifully Damaged a few weeks ago and it could be that. He does show up to her restaurant with a date, but i don’t remember if she tells me he has to leave with her right now. OMG you know you read too many books when you can’t remember small details from a book you just read!

Oh that is weird about Table for Two. I know I had seen that book before so I went and checked and I have it on my kindle and I actually read it. I have NO memory of it at all though! What is with that price for a used book???

This is driving me crazy… I know what book it is, but for the life of me I can’t remember. It’s none of the above though.

O.k., it’s a long shot, but I just came across The Last Boyfriend by J.S. Cooper. In the description it talks about a guy who comes into the girls diner every Friday night with a different girl, but she can’t stop thinking about him. It sounds like the right setting, but I haven’t read the book yet so I have no clue if it’s actually the one you’re looking for.

Is it The Edge of Disaster by A.M. Hargrove?

–she’s really self-destructive (drugs, drunken hook ups, etc) because her fiancee died a few years back.
–he’s a doctor of some sort and very, very wealthy. I think it’s set in Charleston or Savannah? He’s at the restaurant with other doctors to celebrate something and gives her his card.

Could it be White Trash Beautiful (Beautiful Series)

I’ve just finished reading it Teasing the Billionaire by Krista Lakes

Christie October 2, 2013 at 4:54 PM

I think I just came across this one. Check out amazon’s description of Teasing the Billionaire by Krista Lakes.
(Teasing the Billionaire is actually just the first chapter of The Woman of the Billionaire’s Dreams, but the description for Teasing the Billionaire has the excerpt of the exact scene described in this question.)
