Gauri needs our book help! And I LOVE military romance especially with that slow burn of letters and a developing romance (and maybe a feeling of unrequited love too). Eeeeep! 😉
She asks:
Hi,
I am a big fan of your website and I visit it religiously for book recommendations.
I have a book question..
I had read a book around 3-4 years back. It’s a slow burn and it’s not Dear Aaron…. similarity between 2 books is hero is in millitary and heroine writes to him…they decide to keep it simple and nothing serious.
I think he has a grandma and they meet in a diner or something…. These are some details I remember.
Can you please help me to find this book.
Anyone have a guess?
Maryse: For some reason… I almost feel like it could be Making Faces by Amy Harmon (which I 5-STAR LOVED!!!) but I can’t remember the letters but it would totally make sense that they were penpals since they were childhood friends and all of that. The diner, though, is there! P.S. Also, here’s my Book Review of Dear Aaron too.
Gauri: No it’s not Making Faces too.
Lisa: Could it be The Last Letter by Rebecca Yarros?
Kelly: Was it a book co-written by BT Urella?
Gauri: Sorry no idea about it…
Ivana: Is it The Upside of Falling by Meghan Quinn (it’s part of the series)?
I remember that he wanted to be a pilot since he was a kid and they wrote each other letters while he was away in school and he had a grandfather who was his rock. She had a brother with some sort of disability. BUT this book has a major plot twist and a cliffhanger and I cried my eyes out!
Jody: PS I Hate You by Winter Renshaw?
Kelly: BT Urella was in the military and a cover model and then started writing. He co authored some books with various other authors. The book I’m thinking was A Lovers Lament co authored with KL Grayson
Laura: Perhaps it’s Scarred by JS Cooper.
