Brianna needs our book help! I want to say YAY to this question ’cause it sounds somewhat similar to a recent past reader question that totally had me hyped. Not the same one, though, as the details for this are different, however, *ahem* a similar character situation. 😉

It starts with the main guy. His dad is an alcoholic and the house across the street from them is empty. He works at a cafe in town. One day while working, this girl comes in and he instantly falls in love with her. He gets to know her a little and finds out she’s squatting in the empty house across the street from his.

Eventually, we find out that this girl kidnapped her twin sister (in New York City?) and trapped her somewhere so that she can pose as her and go back to her mom’s town to try to murder their mom.
The mom is very agoraphobic; we find out it’s because she’s been living in fear of the daughter for years.

When the evil twin finally gets into the mom’s house, she tries to kill her but is interrupted by the guy on a cafe delivery. He ends up taking the knife instead and dies.
I want to say that there are pearls on the cover or something like that, but this could also be 100% wrong.
