Christina has one for us!! This mini-description reminds me of a book from one of my favorite authors but some of the details are off, so I’m pretty sure it’s not the one I’m thinking of (although so many in our crew LOVED it!!)
She says:
This was posted in a group I’m in and I know I’ve read this but for the life of me can’t remember what the book is called.
Let’s play, Do You Know What Book This Is?
A reader sent me this description. It sounds familiar, but I can’t place it. Any ideas??
It was a woman’s wedding day and when she walked down the aisle her fiancé told her he didn’t love her anymore. She locks herself in the bathroom with her friend and then escapes out the window. Runs into a tall handsome fella, who was at the wedding and was a friend of the grooms.
She does a runner with him in his truck. They talk about life and his wife left him for another woman.
He takes her to an abandoned amusement park where he likes to go to think about stuff. And he helps her up the steps of the slide (she’s afraid of heights).
Anyone know it?
Maryse: My guess was: Getaway Girl by Tessa Bailey (although in this book, it’s not her wedding… it’s her cousin’s wedding, and the heroine – who’s considered the black sheep of the family – escapes with the groom!!). GASP! SCANDALOUS!!! FUN!!!
Christina: Fingers crossed. It’s not Getaway Girl although that was a good one!
Jody: Ugh. This sounds similar to something I’ve read, minus the amusement park part. Guess I need to browse my goodreads account to figure out what one I’ve read…
Jody: *sigh* so.. I’m not sure how I will find it. My brain keeps saying Kylie Scott. So either it’s one of hers, or possibly something I read around the same time. My other problem? This year I’ve read 103 books, last year 138 and the year before that… 177. HA! And that’s if I remembered to add it. It’s bugging me because I can picture a scene from whatever book it is!!
Christina: Same!!! I know I’ve read this but I must not have added it to my goodreads and it’s not on my kindle history either.
Roxy: Is it “Dirty: A Dive Bar Novel (Dive Bar Series Book 1)” by Kylie Scott?
Autumn: It might be Searching for Beautiful (Searching For series Book 3) by Jennifer Probst…
Christina: I don’t think it’s either of those. I want to say one of them had issues with riding a subway and they made a deal if he did something she would do something to conquer her fear of heights.
Jen: Ok…this sounds so familiar and it was driving me crazy, so I just had to look for it. Is it Plus One by M.N. Forgy (writing as Missy Blake). She is a runaway bride and he takes her to a amusement park, but later they end up in a fake relationship to get both their families out of their love lives. Super fun and funny read.
Angelique: The Great Escape: A Novel (Wynette, Texas Book 7) by Susan Elizabeth Philips?
Christina: Ugh it’s neither of those either. This is driving me nuts!!!

Could it be The Best Man (The Blue Heron Series Book 1)? The heroine leaves her hometown after being jilted at the altar. Now a little older and wiser, she’s ready to return to her family’s Blue Heron Winery, her family’s vineyard. One of the funniest scenes is the heroine getting stuck in a restaurant bathroom trying to escape the person responsible for her nightmare wedding. It’s a great book.
