Carrie needs our “book title” help and I think once we find it, it’s right up many of our book-alleys. I asked it on Facebook, and while many of us want it, and a few took a guess, it looks like we still need to keep guessing…
She asks:
“dang it – talking about Flowers In The Attic made me remember a series i read around that same time (i think) that was about a guy who had leukemia & so he & his gf get married suuuuuper young (like HS young) & it was about their relationship & his illness & … i think the names were common names (with this ring, i thee wed, til death do us part, etc.),
so i’ve had no luck w/ a cover search so far… and i can’t remember if he ends up in remission or dying… does this ring any bells for anyone? i know this group is usually good for things like this… smile emoticon (i probably read these in the 90’s, but idk if that’s when they were published.)”

Ashley: Sounds like something Lurlene McDaniel would write. I read a ton of her stuff when I was younger.

Carrie: thanks for trying! i looked at all Lurlene’s books & unfortunately those aren’t it. it’s definitely a trilogy or 4 book series. (as an aside, while i was looking through GR, i found a Sweet Dreams book that is one of my favorites from that time period, too! Heart and Soul (Sweet Dreams Series #138) by Janice Boies.) i’ll keep looking for these books & will post back here if i can find them! thanks again!

Ooooohhhh I read P.S I LOVE YOU when I was like 11yrs old in the 80’s! The story stuck with me til this day. I still remember his name….Paul Strobe! It was such a beautiful young love story I cried buckets!
I wish I could buy it!! They don’t have it in ebook format. 🙁
It sounds like the First Comes Love series by Jennifer Baker. Titles are To Have and to Hold (First Comes Love, #1), For Better, For Worse (First Comes Love), In Sickness and in Health (First Comes Love), and Till Death Do Us Part (First Comes Love). They weren’t high school, but college freshmen, and it was early 90’s
