I know the “fake boyfriend” theme is fairly common (and fun!!) in our romance reads, but this one has an added detail. A barbecue competition!

Speaking of which… I could use a nice day of barbecued food. Mmmmmmmm… grilled chicken… hot dogs (and mustard!!! YUMMMM)… grilled corn on the cob…. hamburgers…. lobster tails…. <— eek What!!? Yep!!! Those are delicious on the grill with a bunch of picnic food. Mmmmmm…. picnic foooooood… potato salad, macaroni salad, cole slaw, watermelon, lemonade…

Er…. yah. I’m hungry. ;)

Okay, but… I’m pretty sure I haven’t read it, but maybe you have?

Karen asks:

Maryse!!! Here I am again! This time I have a book question for you… I read a book a while ago, and this one was about this woman who is (kind of) timid and something happens (I am not sure if there is an auction and she “wins” a date with him) and she ends up with this guy. But he is only pretending to be her boyfriend for the weekend, and then happens a barbecue competition. Can you help me?  *Pretty please* Thank you!

Sounds like Driven by K.Bromberg…

Not Driven. That one is not a fake boyfriend and the first date is a picnic. :-) I don’t recognize this one.

Seven Day Fiance by Rachel Harris – she “won” him in an auction and then he agreed to be her fake fiance for a week – he joined her fathers BBQ team and won the competition. Currently on sale for $0.99
