Reader Question – The book where the heroine’s father beat up the Hero, and told him she doesn’t love him, and broke them up…

Diksha needs our book help! Hrmmm… this could be quite a few similar storylines that I’ve read. Lies to keep the couple apart.

She asks:

Hey Maryse,

I hope uh r doing well. I have been following your blog from the last 5 years and have read so many amazing books solely on ur recommendations.

So today I wanted to test my luck as I am looking for a book that I have read a long time ago but have forgotten the title and for some reason I have this strong urge to re-read it. I don’t remember any names but the plot goes like this:

The H and h were romantically involved in the past and somehow the h’s father got the hang of it and he threatened and beat H and carved a scar on his face telling him that the h do not love him.

Some years later H came back to destroy the h but found that h is a widow and have a baby. He wanted revenge but later found out that they both have been wronged by h’s father.

Please please someone tell me the name of this book, I’m dying to re-read it.

Anyone have a guess?
