Chitwan is back and she needs us!! I LOVE this trope so much, because it has the whole “star-crossed lovers” thing, plus that part below when they see each other again as adults. *oooomph*
She asks:
Looking for a second chance book I read in mid 2010s
I’ve been racking my brain trying to remember this one but unsuccessful so far so hopefully this community can help me out.
The premises is something like this –
The hero is rich and heroine is his housekeeper’s daughter or housekeeper herself.
They fall in love with each other when they are in high school and the heroine gets pregnant. They are happy about it but heroine has a miscarriage. She is depressed afterwards and leaves the hero (not fully sure what the proper circumstances were about her leaving).
Fast forward a few years the hero has a fiancé and they go for some business dinner where the people they meeting are heroine and her husband (or maybe fiancé). They start talking and discussion leads to kids where the hero fiancés comments that she can’t wait to have hero’s first child. The heroine starts crying after this.
This is all I remember but would be grateful if this would be helpful to lead to the book!
Anyone have a guess? Let’s make a list unless we know it right off the bat. 😀
Maryse: This sort of reminds me of “Sempre” by J.M. Darhower (the rich son falls for the young girl/housekeeper that moves in with them) so I’ll just throw that in there. 😉 One of my favorite, angsty romances!
Chitwan: Found it myself haha! It’s Pulled by A.L Jackson phew finally
