Jennifer needs our book sleuthing abilities! AND OMG this one just made me go OH NO HE DIDN’T!!!! ROOOOOAAAR!!! Oh some in our crew will be all over this one. π I Β know I haven’t read this one ’cause I could have NEVER forgotten that scene.
She asks:
Hi, Maryse! I was hoping you could help me find the name of this book, please.
The hero is a baseball player/athlete and gets βoral lovinββ from one girl before every game. Itβs supposed to be his good luck charm. He finally gets the heroine to go out on a date with him and is supposed to stop his pregame βritual.β
He tries to, but gives in and goes back to his old ways. When the heroine is standing with her friends, she hears the guys congratulating him on him getting one and she leaves and he runs after her.
Thank you! π
Anyone know it?
Sandy: I don’t know but it sounds good
Maryse: Right???
Sharon: I need to read this!
Jaime: OK how many of us are going to be disappointed if someone doesnβt know this???
Maryse: I will be!!! LOL!!!! π
Jennifer: Right, ladies?! Itβs killing me! Itβs right up my alley. Ahhhhβ¦the angst! Hope we can solve this one!
Katie: I want itΒ β€οΈ
Amanda: Asked around and a friend says it sounds like Third Base (The Boys of Summer Book 1) by Heidi McLaughlin.
Nicole: Heidi McLaughlin? Is this one of yours?
Heidi McLaughlin: nope ….itβs not
Amanda: well crap
Emilee: Sounds kind of like Moonshot by Alessandra Torre, but not the pregame ritual part?Β π€
RK: I saw this description in a bunch of groups awhile back but didnβt follow-up to know if it had ever been found. Searched tonight and found that it was identified as Kendall Ryanβs βThe Impact of Youβ. Looked up the blurb on Kendallβs website and I wouldnβt have thought it to be about a baseball player at all.
Jessica: I bought this book this morning after seeing your comment. I’m at 20% and so far, it doesn’t fit the description. It’s early so who knows, maybe it’s this book… but so far no mention of this guy playing baseball or having this ritual.
RK: I took a screenshot from Anne Mercierβs page where it was identified as that book but I couldnβt post it here. Help Name The Book and other groups I saw talking about it earlier this year havenβt been updated that theyβd found it, though. I was skeptical after reading the blurb. Hope if itβs not the right one you still have a good story to enjoy.
Jessica: RKΒ I just finished… definitely not the right book. I seriously hope we figure this out because I want it!!! And if we don’t, I hope someone writes it.Β ππ
Carly: Last week Jennifer was looking for a book about a baseball player who had, ahem, oral pregame rituals that he needed to have performed in order for him to you know, perform his best. I am pretty darn sure the book is Stephanie Evonovichβs The Sweet Spot: A Novel.π
Jessica: I just read SPIKED by Harper James because the blurb definitely sounded like it *could* be the one! But it’s about football.Β π€·ββοΈπ€·ββοΈπ€·ββοΈ
Amy: When Our Worlds CollideΒ by Lindsey Iler? <—- THIS IS THE ONE!!!
Amanda: When Our Worlds CollideΒ by Lindsey Iler. At a certain percentage and that situation happened.
Jessica: thank you!! (Though judging by your goodreads updates, I’m not sure it lives up to this juicy blurb?Β π)
Amanda: itβs just….eeeehhhhΒ π
Happy: ok is it really the book??
Amanda: it fits the description.
Jessica: it was definitely the right book. Unfortunately it didn’t exactly live up to what I hoped it would based on this description… still, I might actually read book 2.Β Amanda, you’re so right… eeehhhhh.Β π
