Salina’s mom needs our book help! Tee hee! This one sounds so fun (and funny) especially since she drives the hero crazy. 😉 But I do not have much historical romance experience so maybe someone here recognizes it?
She asks:
Looking for a book that my mom read a long time ago this is all she can remember:
The women has long red hair, one blue eye and one green eye. She works at a saloon. She has an oxen that she puts a bonnet on. She is running away from her step father because he raped her.
So she becomes a (lady of the night) but not a good one she is always feeling bad for the men. The men would tell her sob stories so she would sleep with them for free.
Anyways she runs into a man that she is going to sleep with so she gets him drunk and she knocks him in the head and steals his wallet. She leaves town right after. His name may be Cat. He may be bounty hunter and he is an Indian. She like to sing but can’t carry a tune. He catches up to her and so she sings to annoy him.
Cat tells her he will kill her step father for her or maybe she hires him to kill him. She wants to become respectable, and get married. She drives him crazy. Maybe set in the 1800’s.
It’s romance set in the old west. Maybe a 90’s book.

Renee: Almost positive this is Sarah McCarty’s Hells Eight series. I’ve read them several time. Just not sure which one in the series it is. Its been a while since I’ve read them
