in Reading Order Guide:

<— YOU GUYS!!!!!!!! I’m hearing this one is a MUST-READ. It’s a paranormal series that’s new-to-me, but has SO many awesome reviews, and our fellow readers are cackling with glee over this one! I just found out about it, and OMG what am I waiting for?!!

Laura: Oh u guys!! I just started a new series by alanea alder it’s a shifter/vampire/witch/fae series and it sooooo amazing and I haven’t even finished book 1! There’s a scene where he has so go get her tampons and of course he has no clue what they are so he takes his whole command unit with him I’m crying with laughter it’s so good u have u look it up maryse!! … so friggin good u have to have to take a look at this it’s making me all clappy hands excited

Michelle: Omigod I’m laughing so hard that I’m crying! Laura recommended My Commander by Alanea Alder and it’s freakin hilarious! I wish it had audio so I could listen on my drive. On the tampon scene…five paranormal alpha males trying to figure out what a period is and what tampons to get *giggling*

Ela: YOU GUYS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THIS PNR IS THE NEXT EPIC READ/SERIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Bewitched and Bewildered SERIES BY Alanea Alder!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I AM CRACKING THE ‘EF UP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Grace: I totally get why Ela was screaming about My Commander – Bewitched and Bewildered Series by Alanea Alder. The book is hysterical, but not just that. It’s amusing all the way through so the smile stays on your face throughout the entire book. There are times you are gut busting belly laughing, and then times when it’s so lovely I found myself crying, but good crying, happy crying, touching moment kind of crying. Then back to laughing. The paranormal world she creates is great. The story is great. The characters are really great. The sexy times are great. Listen to Ela! Read it! She was so right! I also highly recommend it if you are coming off of something really angsty and full of tension and need to recover a bit. I’ve moved on to the second book and it’s just what I wanted too. New lead characters for the love story, but all the old ones are there being themselves, which we’ve already established is them being really great! *buries her face back in the e-reader cackling like a banshee cause Meryn from My Commander is absolutely HYSTERICAL!*

Michelle: Yesssss My Commander love finally! I read all five books recently and laughed until I cried in all of them. There is a store scene with hilarity ensuing in each book. What I really liked was that Meryn and all the characters carry over into each book and it doesn’t just focus on the new couple. They were such fun books – book 6 out in June :D

About book #1:

When the topic of grandchildren comes up during a weekly sewing circle the matriarchs of the founding families seek out the witch Elder to scry to see if their sons have mates. They are shocked to discover that many of their son’s mates are out in the world and are human!

Fearing that their future daughter in laws will end up dead before being claimed and providing them with grandchildren to spoil, they convince their own mates that something must be done. After gathering all of the warriors together in a fake award ceremony the witch Elder casts a spell to pull the warrior’s mates to them, whether they want it or not.

Aiden McKenzie is adamant that he doesn’t need a mate and that she would only get in the way. He doesn’t have time to coddle a female. He likes his world run with military precision. Little does he realize, Fate is sending him his mate first! He meets his destined mate Meryn Evans and things go downhill from there. She is the embodiment of chaos. In the first twenty-four hours she kicks, screams and knocks her bear shifting mate unconscious.

Eventually they discover that life before finding each other may have been good, but life afterwards is perfect, even if it involves super soaker battles and accidentally discharging hand grenades.

Unfortunately the joy of their mating is overshadowed when Aiden and Meryn find themselves embroiled in a missing persons case assigned to Aiden by the Lycaonian Council. By assisting Aiden, Meryn finds herself the focus of a demented killer.

Can Aiden and the elite warriors from the Alpha Unit keep Meryn safe? Or did Fate bring her to Lycaonia to die?

I guess I need to revisit it – it was a DNF for me at about 50%…. hmmm…. sometimes it’s just my mood. if it’s too light and I need more substance sometimes I put down a book. Next time I am in a mood for light, funny and sexy, I will pick it back up.

After what I just finished reading I’m in desperate need of something light and funny and easy. This one sounds like just the thing.

MichelleS, truth woman, it is so much the mood we’re in when we pick a book that makes it great or meh at the time.

Love the Bewitched and Bewildered series, can’t wait for latest release My Guardian in June. Alanea Alder brings such camaraderie and spirit to all her characters. Best of all, the absolute comedy genius that keeps you laughing with the characters and at the antics they get up too. Don’t miss out! This series is a must read!!!
