Since so many of us loved Kele Moon’s “Defying the Odds” (UFC Fighter), and we’re anxiously awaiting more, I did a little research, and found this series. Five full length books so far, first 3 seem to be well received (4th and 5th are debatable, but I may still be curious enough to give this series a try). Let me know if you’ve read any of ’em.
I found a blog post comment recently by Lori saying “I think MMA fighters make great heroes!”
The author is apparently a fan, as she posted a bunch of pics on her website, of her attending an event (lots of pics with the fighters!)
About book #1:
After Fate deals Supreme Battle Challenge (SBC) fighterΒ Harley HandlemanΒ a sucker punch, his uncle secretly hires a pretty life-coach to get Harley back in the ring of life.Β Anastasia KelleyΒ has actually known Harley for years, but never as well as she’s going to now. Hot for his fighter’s form, she has trouble keeping it professional, especially since Harley doesn’t know she was hired. And when Anastasia turns the tables on him, it’s as if he’s been hit below the belt. But that’s also where his uncontrollable lust for her burns.
- Causing Havoc (SBC Fighters, Book 1)
- Simon Says (SBC Fighters, Book 2)
- Hard To Handle (SBC Fighters)
- “Deuces Wild” as found in theΒ Double the PleasureΒ Anthology (this short story is related to this series due to his twin brother – as per the author: “Dexter Winston and Christy Nash,Β Features a new Winston cousin, who is a twin.Β Dex is twin to Hart, and Hart has his own story inΒ Double the Heat.
- My Man Michael (SBC Fighters, Book 4)
- “Hart and Soul” as found in theΒ Double the HeatΒ Anthology (Hart Winston and Lisa Vogel.Β Hart is Dexter Winstonβs twin and an SBC fighter.)
- Back in Black (SBC Fighters)
- “Man’s Best Friend” as found in theΒ Tails of LoveΒ Anthology (Gary Rutledge is an SBC fighter in hot pursuit of his “very good friend” Erin Schuler.)
Will you be writing more books about the SBC fighters?
I never say never, but for now, I don’t have any plans for more fighters. BUT… if a really fantastic story came to me, of course I’d write it. I always write what most interests me at the moment.
While I haven’t read any of this series I have read other Lori Foster books in the past. She can write a darn good alpha male (although not quite to the level of another author we all adore)! I do recall a book about a guy name “Joe” that kind of reminds me of another “Joe” many of us know and love!
Trisha! Awesome!! And someone on my Facebook commented that they loved this series. Something to look forward to!
I’ve read the ‘Joe’ book (Say No to Joe) and the rest in the Visitation series – really enjoyed them. She also wrote an excellent and DELICIOUS standalone book called Jude’s Law about a retired SBC fighter-turned-Hollywood-star. Yummolicious!! I’ll send you my review π
Jane
Oh! I wonder if even though it’s standalone, if I should put it somewhere in this SBC list, considering he was one of them… hrmmm….
I started reading the SBC books…im on book 2…but Im confussed to the reading order of the short stories..I have Double the heat, but there is only one Lori Foster short story in it called.. Heart and Soul and its “Harts” story, but according to the reading list there should be 2 short stories in the same book…or am i missing something?
Melanie! Yep you’re right… I just fixed it…
First short story is “Deuces Wild” in the “Double you Pleasure” anthology, and then more books, and then the 2nd short story is the one you are looking at (Hart’s book), in “Double the Heat”.
I hope that helps!
awesome it sure does…im really enjoying this series…thanks for your help!
Hey Maryse…I again wanted to thank you for clearing up the reading order to this series…but two of the books are still mixed up…i facebooked lori foster and she sent me the reading order…its right up until my man micheal..then it should go double the heat, back in black and then tails of love..
Ahhh perfect!! Thanks Melanie π Fixed. Those little anthology “shorts” can get confusing! π
I’ve had this series sitting on my shelf for a while and only recently got the time to read them and I have to say I’m like most reviewers, I adore the first three books but Lori totally lost me on the rest of them…I’m trying to pretend there were only the first three books and some alien or fan girl wrote the rest.
Thanks Maryse for suggesting the SBC series and Lori Foster.. it was awesome. My husband got me into watching the UFC so this was a great follow up to it. Love it so much I’m starting her other series – Men who walk the edge of Honor. She is an awesome writer ! Totally recommend it !
Does she have a new fighting series coming out?
