One of my best book-buds, bev absolutely LOVED book #1, and now… it’s a series! Book #3 will be out in just a couple of weeks, and I believe they all can be read as standalones (each book is about a different couple).
bev: I really enjoyed this one and would not make a bad holiday read. Great chemistry, witty banter, the London stage, you know if you need to escape someplace that will make you smile and keep your mood up. …No over the top angst, no ugly crying, no the mc is not a serial killer, or have split personalities. No Maury needed because she loves too much.Β Iβm not sorry to say.Β
Anne:Β I just finished reading Act Like It by Lucy Parker and loved it!! Richard is like a modern Mr Darcy *swoon* Loved the chemistry between him and Lainie. A 4.5/5 stars for me.
bev: I swear that must be hard to write, dialogue. Especially flirty and quick witted. But dang I love it. And chemistry. Like a movie the characters need chemistry.
Cheryl:Β Finished Act Like It. Enjoyable, light-hearted read. Just what I needed for a vacation read. Thanks Bev!!
Jean:Β I loved Act Like It based on your recommendation bev, so I need to read Pretty Face now!
bev:Β Pretty Face by Lucy Parker was a good solid contemporary with likable characters. I liked Act Like It better but this was a fun read.
Tracie:Β This series is wonderful. Great writing and characters.
About book #1:
This just in: romance takes center stage as West End theatre’s Richard Troy steps out with none other than castmate Elaine Graham
Richard Troy used to be the hottest actor in London, but the only thing firing up lately is his temper. We all love to love a bad boy, but Richard’s antics have made him Enemy Number One, breaking the hearts of fans across the city.
Have the tides turned? Has English rose Lainie Graham made him into a new man?
Sources say the mismatched pair has been spotted at multiple events, arm in arm and hip to hip. From fits of jealousy to longing looks and heated whispers, onlookers are stunned by this blooming romance.
Could the rumors be right? Could this unlikely romance be the real thing? Or are these gifted stage actors playing us all?
Oooh, I started reading Act Like It a few nights ago!
I’m reading Pretty Face at the moment and really liking it.
π
Let me know what you both think when done. I already one-clicked “Act Like It”.
Jan if you do the re read let me know if you see and hear Richard Armitage.
I loved the chemistry and banter in these books. Those are not always something you get and I appreciate them.
Well I finished Pretty Face and yep, really liked it. I dnf’ed Act Like It ages ago cos I wasn’t in the right mood at the time, I think, but I’ve started it again, and so far liking it much more this time around. I think I’m gonna finish it this time (and like it).
bev, I see what you mean about Richard Armitage. Yes, definitely.
Remember Richard Armitage in North and South? *happy sigh*
Yes!
I really need to buy a copy of that movie. So freaking good. And romantic. They way he would just look at her.
It’s on netflix (in Australia anyway).
