Madeline Sheehan – The Holy Trinity Series

in Reading Order Guide:

Back before Madeline Sheehan became the queen of raw, gritty, bad-ass biker books (Undeniable Series), she was (and still is) writing a  paranormal/dystopian series!! THIS one. And while I’m in full-on “bad-boy” contemporary romance mode, I’ve been hearing that this series is awesome, too, and I’m tempted to start it…

MichelleS: Speaking of strangely good with zombies….. did any of ya’ll read The HolyTrinity series by Madeline Sheehan (yes that MS of the MC world fame)! It was amazingly good and I don’t remember anyone ever talking about it. If you like Experiment in Terror, you’d probably like Holy Trinity. And the fact that MS wrote it is just a bonus! It’s hard to describe: dystopian meets urban fantasy? I am anxiously awaiting the final book.

Julie: “The Holy Trinity” series by Madeline Sheehan! I LOVE those!!!! Can’t wait for the next one :)

Amy:  I *have* read the Holy Trinity series. OMG, I can’t wait until the last book comes out! The second one just about killed me. You know which part I’m talking about…at the cabin by the lake? Oh, my heart. I seriously felt her heartbreak. *sob* The first book is a little repetitive in that it all takes place in the one camp withTrinity fighting the pull to Gerik while simultaneously wanting him (if that makes any sense), but stick with it because the end…the END is a WTF ending!! And a lot happens in the second book so it’s not repetitive like the first.

Claire: Oh, oh, Xan and Garrick from The Holy Trinity series are both awesomely sexy a$$holes! But Xan is mine, so back off ha ha

Fabi:  I’m 13% into The Soul Mate and loving it! Dystopian, urban fantasy, pnr, and romance.  This author was thinking of my eclectic tastes when she came up with this plot.  Maybe she couldn’t pick a favorite genre either.  Now all I need are some hunky space aliens and a bit of time travel and I’m all set.  :-)

MichelleS: Fabi – I am jealous. You get to experience the “fata” deliciousness of Xan and Gerik…. while I am working my way through the redecorating and renovating of every single cabin in the woods of Colorado! (Totally wacky, but good, isn’t it? – The Holy Trinity, I mean). I loved and hated where The Holy Trinity went with all the characters. It’s not predictable and that I like very much.

Michelle: I totally have to read that holy trinity series you all were discussing. I had no idea MS wrote something like this – good rec ladies :)

Amy: The Holy Trinity is a great series, and apart from some minor, petty complaints I had, it’s a crazy (in a good way!) world to get wrapped up in!

MichelleS: Fabi – are you going to move on to book two? then there’s a short novella too? I couldn’t stop with The Holy Trinity series once I started. Soul Mate left me hanging! Glad you liked it! I just KNEW you would!!!

So for those of you in the mood for paranormal bad boys again, a la “Madeline Sheehan” sounds like the perfect way to go!

Yep! Sounds like everything I LOVE in a book. Alpha-jerks, and heartache (all in a crazy-intense dystopian format). YES PLEASE!!!

About book #1:

Having barely escaped a worldwide apocalyptic plague that has transformed most of humanity into flesh eating monsters, Trinity, a young woman, finds sanctuary with a band of roving Gypsies who possess magical powers she’d never dreamed existed.

Safely entrenched in the magically protected Gypsy camp Trinity finds herself laden with a whole new set of problems. The biggest being a 6’4′ Scandinavian Gypsy who compels Trinity the way no other man has ever before. Unable to control her impulses around him she soon becomes convinced he is using his magic on her.

While the remaining humans are fighting for their very survival Trinity is at the same time fighting a very different battle. She is fighting for the right to choose her own destiny.

Oh wow this DOES sound good!!!

Oh, Maryse — these books aren’t good — they are positively GREATNESS!! You must read them ASAP!! Garik is tortured, Xan is sexy, and Trinity is BADASS. She is one of my absolute all-time favorite heroines. Read these! Trust me. You’ll thank me later. :D

Now if the last one would just come out already. Yes, I’m pouting. Xan is all kinds of sexiness, and Gerik is just…ugh, I can’t say what I want to without spoiling some stuff, but I will say I have a love/hate thing with both of those guys. Gerik…that was not fair. Just not fair. Y’all know what I mean if you’ve read them.

To be honest, I originally thought they were 3 to 3.5-star books, but I was still thinking about them weeks later and “reliving” scenes so I can say now that I would put them in the 4 to pushing 4.5 range. Just read them already!!!! :D
