Brought to our attention by our fellow reader, Jan, and she highly recommends this series! She’s got great book taste if I do say so myself. 😉
Ohhhhh yesssssss!!! This sounds rocky as heck! He’s famous and has groupies and she’s committed to someone else. Eeeeeep!
Jan: Nia Forrester’s Commitment series is my fav series I’ve been reading this year. Real grown-up sexy people with complicated lives, but deep, real love will win the day in the end. Wonderful stuff. …I’m loving the heck out of those books. CR series set in the world of behind the scenes US hip-hop music industry. Fascinating, complex, intelligent, sexy characters who go through thick and thin as they travel the rocky road to true love. Best CRs I’ve read in ages. …I don’t really even like hip hop, but these books are GREAT! Mature, complicated, grown-up characters with complicated and fascinating lives. I’m luvvin them.
Jan: Somebody needs to read some Nia Forrester. Try ‘The Come Up’ or ‘Afterwards’. The series doesn’t have to be read in order. I haven’t been – I’ve still gotta finish #1 ‘Commitment’ – that one’s a bit angsty so I’m holding off till I’m feeling strong enough to deal. Come on peeps. Don’t leave me hangin’ all alone here.
Jan: ‘Commitment’ by Nia Forrester. I started reading this back in March but took a break cos I was nervous about the angst coming Now I’ve started again from the start. I’m determined I’m going to get through it this time. I LOVE the rest of this series. And I LOVE the h and H of this one, Riley and Shawn. Just, Shawn, don’t do it!!! Noooooo!!!!!! Don’t break her heart! (and my heart). (But I already know from the other books that all will eventually end well. It’s just the pain and angst of the journey!)
*shouts out* Everyone should read this series!!
About book #1:
It was obvious to everyone but them they were all wrong for each other. Riley is a free-spirited boho writer and Shawn is a magnetic and charismatic rapper, riding the highest crest of his career. She doesn’t understand his world and he sure as hell doesn’t understand hers. And what’s worse, while he’s never committed to any woman before, she’s committed to someone else.
Still, they can’t stay away from each other. Along with frequent clashes of their equally strong wills, Shawn and Riley will have to face down opposition from friends, family and one extremely motivated groupie, if they want to forge a commitment that will last the test of time.
😀 😀
Thank you Maryse for helping to share the Nia Forrester love! I hope some blog readers out there find these books now and get as much enjoyment from them as me.
I loved how real and flawed the characters were in Commitment and Unsuitable Men. Nia speaks truth because relationships are very rarely sunshine and roses from begining to end…There are a lot for grey areas!
Loved this series!!
:D!!!! I bet I would love it, too!!!
