We were discussing a “brothers” series by Nora Roberts on my Facebook page, which immediately reminded me of this series I read quite a few years ago. A contemporary romance trilogy about three sisters who live in Ireland, and meet their match… I sort of forgot about it over the years, but it was because of book #2, that I officially experienced my very first “book crush”.
Maryse’s Book Blog:Β I read a trilogy with brothers once, that had me so *heart* in love. My first real book crush was this guy. Something about an author renting a room in Ireland… a grumpy but gorgeous guy… OMG that romance novel flipped my world upside down I was SO in book-love. Does anyone remember what it was? Was it this trilogy?
Brandie: I would love to know what books your talking about! Are they by Nora Roberts? It sounds familiar and I’m pretty sure I own most of her books;)
Maryse’s Book Blog: Yep Nora Roberts. It was my intro to her and romance novels and boy did I fall hard. He was my “Travis” for a year at least (although he wasn’t anything “like” Travis” but… you know what I mean π ) *squee!!!* I FOUND IT!!! I wonder how much my tastes have changed from when I was twenty, but still. I think this one is right up our alley. SO GOOD!! Born in Ice: The Born In Trilogy #2. I read it first, and then I read the other two… this is the best one in that trilogy if you ask me, but they were all good. Now I have to put it up on my blog as a reading order guide! So excited that I remembered this one!
Brandie: Yes! I have that trilogy sitting not 5 feet away from me right now. Loved it!!! I love a bunch of her books. Her other trilogy’s with brothers are great too.
About book #1:
Margaret Mary Concannon is a glass artist with an independent streak as fierce as her volatile temper. Itβs no surprise that her relationship with the sophisticated Dublin gallery owner Rogan Sweeney wonβt be peaceful.
I, too, loved this trilogy, but Born In Fire was my favorite. I really liked Maggie Concannon, the blown glass artist, and the business-like, time schedule oriented (not to mention, hot!) man who fell for her. These are some of the few (ok, 300 or so) “real” books I keep. Most of my library has gone digital. I pick these up once every year or so to reread.
Being a bit older than you, my first book crush was a Kathleen Woodiwiss character, but as I’ve gotten older, I’ve settled on Nora Roberts as my first choice in writing the kind of men I like. I also really like her strong female characters.
I’ve read these books and all Nora’s others series’s. You should really have a look at her Donovan Legacy series and for more contemporary romance the Mcgreggors is a must!!
I most certainly will Biate. Thank you for that recommendation!
You have to read The Circle Trilogy by Nora Roberts, it remains one of my all time favorite para-normals ever. The books were done really well and I loved them. The villain is so very very wicked!! If you get the opportunity I would love to know what you thought.
Thanks
I haven’t read it yet but I DO have it!!! My husband bought it for me a few Christmases ago.
